I pressed my lips into a thin line before I slowly nodded, moving a hand through my hair and biting back a tired sigh. "Well, that's going to suck," I grumbled before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "However, we are going to make sure that nothing bad happens and that no one dies." I flashed him a small smirk and a wink, and Caroline bit back a small hesitant smile before she slowly nodded.

"I know," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. She licked her lips and looked around before she looked at me. "Do you think that we need to do anything for that to happen?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper while she cocked her head and studied me.

I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line. "I don't know," I said, and I bit back a tired sigh while I moved a hand through my hair. "Now, let's go ahead and take a shower and get clean, ya?" I raised an eyebrow in question while I studied her.

Caroline slowly nodded and bit back a small smile, and a look of hesitance flashed through her eyes. She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet before she slowly started to move toward the shower curtain. "I am going to take mine and meet you outside in the entrance. And are you sure that you don't need any clothes?" she asked and cocked her head to the side while she studied me.

I bit back a small chuckle and shook my head, no. "I am going to be fine. I am sure that I will be able to find something in my pouch." I bit back a small smile while I slowly bowed my head. "I will see you in a bit. Thank you."

Caroline slowly nodded and furrowed her brows. She bit the inside of her lip and did not say a word while she left and went into the stall next to mine.

I bit back a small smile and shook my head before I started to pull the rest of my clothes off of my body until I was butt naked in the stall. "Do you want to check up on everyone else that we have rescued or do train after this?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "I am down for either one."

"Then I want to check up on everyone that w- you have rescued and make sure that they are fine," Caroline said. The sound of running water filled the air around us while she cleared her throat and licked her lips. "And then can we train, please?"

"Sure," I said and nodded in confirmation. "We can do that." I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line. "I don't have anything else that I have to do besides that and find information on how to get out of here."

Caroline sighed with relief and slowly nodded. "Are we going to have to leave this place soon?" she asked and cocked her head to the side, even though I wasn't able to see her. "If so, when?"

I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line. "Don't know," I said before I cleared my throat and licked my lips. "We will be playing that by ear for now. Right now, I think I want to get you trained a little more before I even let you out of my sight."

Caroline paused and rolled her eyes, biting back a small snort. "I am out of your sight right now, Kyler," she said coldly, and I bit back a small snicker while I slowly nodded. "I have also been out of your sight for a while too, and nothing has happened to me."

"Yet," I said and gave her a pointed look, even though I still couldn't see her while I raised both eyebrows in unison. "Nothing has happened to you, yet."

She scoffed a laugh and rolled her eyes while she pursed her lips in annoyance. "Very funny, Kyler," she said coldly.

I bit back a small chuckle and slowly nodded. "I know," I said, with a small cheeky grin on my face, even though all I wanted to do was grimace. "I find it funny." I bit back a tired sigh and started the water, silently signalling the end of the conversation, and Caroline bit back a tired sigh and started to work on taking her shower.

I didn't say a word while I walked over to my jacket where my pouch lay, hoping that my grandmother had been able to pack up my shampoo, conditioner, and soap because there was no way in hell I was going to use something else, even though I was on a different timeline and didn't know what was going to happen if I did this.

I'm just going to happen to remember to put it back in the pouch, I thought, biting the inside of my lip. I don't want to mess up anything else other than what I am doing now...

"Hey, Ky?" Caroline asked from the other side of the stall after a few minutes of silence that had been between the two of us.

"Huh?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I started to take a shower, biting back a tired sigh. "What is it? What's wrong?"

"Are you mad at me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

I raised the eyebrow higher in question, mildly impressed and nervous about her asking me if I was mad at her. "For what?" I asked. "What would I be mad at you?"

She hesitated and licked her lips before she cleared her throat while she shifted on her feet. "For convincing Fernos to let Andrei in the tent when you told him to not let anyone else into the tent until you got back to help me."

I shrugged and grimaced, licking my lips while I started to take an actual shower, biting back a tired sigh and shaking my head. "It's fine," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet, closing my eyes ever so slightly. "I am not mad at you."

Caroline hesitated, and I had a feeling that she nodded. "Are you mad at Fernos?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Her heart skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in her chest while she waited for my answer.

I shook my head and bit back a tired chuckle, and I couldn't help but press my lips into a thin line. "I could never be mad at him," I said, my voice barely above a whisper before I cleared my throat and licked my lips. "Even though this one isn't mine."

I cleared my throat and licked my lips, blinking back some tears. My heart became filled with pain and sadness, and my stomach started to clench with that pain and sadness while I continued to take a shower and have my thoughts drift over to my Fernos and how he was feeling. "I still can't be mad at him."

No matter how much I tried or wanted to be...

"Good," Caroline said and breathed a small sigh of relief. She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "How are you feeling? Do you feel clean?" she asked, changing the subject.

I bit back a small laugh and nodded in confirmation. "I am feeling ok," I said. "I would rather have a shower from my home, but this is fine. I have other stuff that I want to do, but I can do it later."

"Like?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "What other stuff do you want to do with the shower, and why can you not do it?"

"It's a long story," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "I am going to be fine with just doing the small basis of it and not just this."

Caroline didn't say a word and continued to take a shower. Her whole body was tense, and I could tell that she was worried and nervous about what it was that I meant.

I couldn't help but chuckle and shake my head. "Don't worry about it," I said before I cleared my throat and licked my lips. I finished some of my shower stuff while I sighed and shook my head. "So, after this, we are going to check on everyone and then we are going to train some more. Ok?"

"That works," Caroline said and slowly nodded in confirmation. She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Do you want us to do anything else or just that for now?"

"Just that for now," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "I don't know what else you want to do, but we'll do that for now," I said and finished with my shower, breathing a small sigh of relief when I felt relaxed and refreshed after the shower. "We can't escape yet, but we will be able to leave soon with or without Cooper's permission to do shit that he should have done a long time ago."
