Pain and darkness, that was all that I had felt and seen for almost two weeks. Every day, at a certain hour, someone would stick a needle, of something, in my back and watch as my body convulse for their sickened pleasure. That was the only time I knew how many days has passed by because they do it, what I think, early morning.

The bad thing was, I had been feeling Vulcan's pain with my own, so when he had been tortured real bad, I sort of died for about a couple of minutes. My Wolf revived me, but she was in much pain as I was, so I had no idea how she did that.

After almost two weeks of being stabbed in the back with a needle filled with... something, my body started to adapt to whatever it was. And thankfully, I couldn't feel Vulcan's pain anymore, so I was sure that he was all right.

I opened my eyes and gasped, hating the fact that I was feeling so much pain, and I knew that there was nothing that will help relieve it. My breathing turned labored while I lifted my head to see if I couldn't see anything that could possibly help me. Unfortunately, all I saw, was darkness and fuzzy shapes.

Some clinking sounded through wherever I was, and I, quickly, ducked my head and closed my eyes. I knew that whomever was doing the needles was the person that came down or the person that would torture me. However, that had only happened four times, I think.

The door opened, letting in a bit of light before it was closed again. Shuffling sounded while the person started to set everything up for the injection.

The door opened again, and I smelt Elder Jeff's scent. "Leave, Randolph," he said. "I'll do the injection."

"But Elder Jeff," the male, Randolph said. "Andrew said that I-"

Elder Jeff growled, causing my Wolf to stir, slightly. "Don't say his name in front of me," he said, gritting his teeth.

Randolph bowed his head. "Yes, Elder." He paused, and I could tell that he was looking at me. Doubt filled his system, but there was mainly guilt. I knew that he didn't trust me, but I knew that he knew that this was wrong. "Will she be all right? This is some strong stuff."

Elder Jeff sighed, and I knew that he rubbed the bridge of nose. "I, honestly, don't know," he said. "It could be a while before she wakes up from it." There was a pause. "What do you think of her?"

"Before Prophet Amelia said what she had, I thought that she was some sort of killer. I thought that she takes innocent people and kills them for sport." There was a growl in his voice. "He kept telling me that I was doing the right thing, but..."

"But..." Jeff inquired Randolph.

"But, I don't think it is right. She's an Innocent, isn't she?"

"Yes," Elder Jeff said. "Rylan's innocent. She doesn't care that she is an Innocent, so she'll put herself in danger, even if it means that it will cost her her life."

"I want to help," Randolph said, causing a small smile to appear on my face. "I want to trust her and get her to trust me." He paused and sighed. "I think she is too young for this. She died once."

"Then leave and make sure that no one comes in here," Elder Jeff said with a slight growl. "I will take care of this one and the next. The bitch needs to die."

My lip flickered to a frown. Well then, I thought, which caused my Wolf to growl out.

"Then I am not leaving," Randolph said, moving in front of me. "You are not going to-" There was a pause, and I could tell that they were mind linking each other. "Yes, Elder Jeff," Randolph said. "She does." I could feel him glare at me before he walked out of the room and locked the door.

My body was tense, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to do anything. I hadn't had anything to eat since the day that I was taken, and I was surprised that I wasn't even dead from that.

A sigh broke me from my thoughts. "You can open your eyes, Rylan. I know that you are awake."

I scoffed and rolled my eyes underneath my eyelids. He wanted me dead, so I wasn't even going to do what he said. Call me selfish, but I wanted to see my mate before I died. I wanted to tell him that I was sorry that I came up with this plan and that I loved him.

"Damn it, Rylan," Elder Jeff groaned, and I knew that he was rubbing his face. "I don't want to kill you. He has been sending people my way to make sure that I wouldn't stop you from getting hurt."

I opened my eyes and glared at him, still pissed that he said he wanted to kill me. "And you expect me to believe you... why?" I spat. My body shook in anger, but I knew that I wasn't able to shift. That didn't stop my Wolf from growling out.

Elder Jeff grabbed the syringe which caused me to growl. He took it in front of me and pushed the button, letting the contents fall out and onto the floor. "You really think that I'd stab you and watch you writhe in pain?" he asked, his voice hard. "What the hell were you thinking? We had a plan!"

"A plan that wasn't foolproof and had many holes in it," I replied. "I needed to get it done."

"So you got yourself captured?"

I nodded my head.

"You do realize that Vulcan isn't on your side anymore, right?"

"He is. He was trying to get me in," I replied. I looked down and sighed, knowing that I was going to have to explain. "I had a nightmare, almost four weeks ago that scared the living shit out of me. I told Vulcan to get me some water, so he did. I left when he was down in the kitchen." I sighed and shook my head. "Somehow he knew that I had left, so he apparated before me and took me back to the pack house."

"Then you two started planning?"

I nodded my head. "Yes, we started planning. That evening, I got Vulcan to mark-" I rolled my eyes when Elder Jeff growled. "-not like that. I got him to make a mark bond between us. He needs my blood to survive until he finds his mate or I mate with Alpha Cooper."

"Which will happen...?"

I shrugged, not knowing that. "The reason why is because I figured a way that I won't have to let my other Protectors know that I am hurting, even if I am hurting really bad. Vulcan can feel my pain," I paused and sighed, "and I can feel his."

"Which is why you died?"

I nodded my head. "It was too much, but I got better and survived."

"What's the plan now?"

"To get information."

"What do you need me to do?"

"See if anyone is on my side and use a sword and scythe crossed together with something that looks like an eye in between them." I showed him my new mark that Vulcan had given me. "And bring me food."

"Wait until tomorrow to get out. I'll see if I can't find and do stuff to make your escape easier."

I nodded my head and closed my eyes, knowing that I had to act as if I had been given the syringe. Sure, my muscles would be sore when I left, but I knew that I would be able to still work around them. Oh, the joys of used to being abused.

"Good luck," Elder Jeff said, touching my hand. He placed something in it, and I couldn't help but smirk when I felt that it was a lock pick. "Wait until tomorrow," he warned.

I nodded my head and waited for him to leave. After that, I opened my eyes and sighed. "Well," I muttered to myself. "This has been an eventful two weeks."

My ears picked up the sound of clanging and stuff like that. My body tensed slightly, but I made sure that I wasn't all the way tense. I needed to make sure that it looked like I was still sedated with whatever they had given me.

"I am glad that you are on my side, Jeff," I heard Andrew say. "I was getting worried that I'd have to kill you."

"Well, she is the reason that my mate and my daughter is dead," Elder Jeff replied, coldly. I could hear a small growl underneath his talking and knew that he didn't blame me. However, there was that sting of pain and guilt that told me otherwise. "She deserves to die."

"Oh, I'm not going to kill her just yet. She is powerful, more powerful than Aedant."

"Oh?"

"Yes," Andrew said. "She will be used to raise Grandolf." He laughed, probably laughing at Jeff's face. "Yes, the Demon-God. We were close to raising him when we had Aednat, but that bitch changed when she saw that little bitch over that Vampire," he spat.

"You don't like Vulcan?"

"He thinks he is so smart. I know that he has been on Rylan's side from the beginning. I've known that Vulcan gave her a mark underneath her arm, so he will be able to contact her. I, also, know that he went to the Vampire Palace to plead his case to his brother, whom is on our side. He didn't know that, so he got his ass hurt, and poor wittwe Wylan got huwt wowse."

I rolled my eyes, keeping them closed. Ya, you only knew that because we got you to believe it, I thought, sarcastically.

Elder Jeff laughed. "Oh, they are stupid," he said. "Rylan thinks that I care about her." He sneers. "I don't, and I will never care about her."

I winced inwardly. Ok, that one hurt. Sure, he was just trying to get on Andrew's good side, but did he really have to play with my emotion like that?

Andrew laughed. "Yes, I don't think Rylan will be the hardest Red Wolf that we have to deal with." There was a pause. "I'll leave you to the harming. I am glad that you have chosen the winning side."

"So am I," Elder Jeff said. There was shuffling while Andrew walked away from the door. "So am I."

***

The door opened before it closed again. "Ok, I know that you have heard what I had said but-" He gasped when I wrapped my legs around his throat and pulled him closer to me. He dug his claws into my thighs and tried to get me to let go of him. However, I was stronger, even in my weakened state.

I opened my eyes and saw that his Wolf was surfacing. My thighs hurt but I still held on, even though I was bleeding. "You need to let go and pass out," I muttered, not wanting anyone else to hear what I had to say. "If you are trying to make it so that you are not on my side, then you need to trust me." I squeezed tighter, cutting off his airway. "I'll be fine. I'm worried about you when they find out that I am gone."

Elder Jeff's Wolf seemed to understand what I was saying and relaxed. He closed his eyes and started to drop to the floor, losing conscious.

I grunted and made sure that I had placed him on the ground gently. After that, I pulled out the lock pick and picked the locks on my hand, dropping beside him. "Wow," I muttered when the world started to spin.

I shook my head and crawled to Elder Jeff. I pat him down and grinned when I found some food and ate quickly. Another grin appeared on my face when I saw that there was a taser as well as a tranq gun with tranquilizers. "Thanks," I said, spying my dagger in the folds of his robe and took it out.

With a sigh and a heave, I pulled Elder Jeff into the chains and chained him. I winced when I saw that he was writhing in pain from the Silver Cuffs. I made sure that they weren't that tight but tight enough so that he wouldn't be able to escape. "Sorry," I apologized. I grabbed my knife and cut my hand. On the wall beside him, I wrote THE RED WOLF ROSE AND WILL CONQUER ALL, before leaving the male chained up.

Twenty minutes and a few guards later, I was in the control room. I grabbed a chair and rolled up to a computer before waking it up. I huffed when I saw that it had a password and user. "Well, crap. I don't have my stuff to know," I muttered.

I typed The Red Wolf for a password and couldn't help but laugh when a screen popped up and said 'Welcome, Rylan'. "Awww, that was easy," I said before trying to hack into my computer. "Shit," I grumbled when I saw that it wouldn't let me. I sighed and typed the words Put heart in computer.

After a few minutes, I saw that my screen went blank and the words rebooting flashed on it. "Are you f-in' kiddin' me?" I asked, knowing that someone had started my computer up again. What the hell was that for?! Get the fucking heart necklace or get Alpha flippin' Cooper! I wrote when I saw that it was done.

I took a deep breath and rubbed the bridge of my nose, feeling a headache appear out of nowhere. "I don't need this," I grumbled, hating that I had to wait for someone to get it done. After another few minutes, I wrote, Please insert heart.

I groaned and banged my head on the table when I didn't see anything change. "Really?" I asked before typing, there was a heart shaped necklace on Cooper's present. Get it and press the two ends together, so a small USB would pop out and stick it into the damn computer!

"Finally," I muttered when I saw that it was processing the USB and typed in the codes that I needed. A smile appeared on my face when I saw that the webcam turned on both this one and the other. "'Sup," I said, seeing the shocked faces of my family and friends.

"Rylan!" everyone exclaimed, causing me to let out a breathless laugh. "Are you alright?"

"Ya, I'm fine," I said, shrugging my shoulders and starting to copy the notes that was on this computer and onto mine. "What took ya'll so long?"

"We didn't know what it was going on," Rhett explained. "You could've left instructions."

"Who else do you know that can hack into a computer?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. I looked at the information that was being processed, knowing that I was going to have to do an in-depth reading of them later. "'Sides me and Elder Jeff."

"Uh... other hackers?" Liam asked, causing me to roll my eyes and scoff.

"I can get past them," I replied. "And yes, this was what Grandma Reed was teaching me." I glanced at my brother to see that he had a questioning look on his face.

"Where are you?" Cooper asked.

"I'm at the Council Headquarters, I think," I replied. "It was easy to get out."

"Then why did it take you so long to get out?" Cooper growled, angrily. "Do you know how fucking worried I was?"

My eyes flashed, dangerously, and I growled slightly. "You weren't being stuck with something that made your whole body convulse and shit like that," I replied, baring my teeth. I glanced at the faces and saw Vulcan staring at me. "And with that, I'm sorry."

Vulcan gave a slight nod of the head and smiled slightly. "I didn't-"

"I know." I interrupted him. I frowned when I came up to the name Grandolf in my search. "Do you know the name Grandolf?" I asked, clicking the file. "Shit," I muttered when I saw that it had triggered an alarm and started to shut stuff down. "Take out my USB now!" I exclaimed. I looked at Vulcan. "Find me."

With that, I made a virus and shut down all computers. I left the computer room and started to run to find an exit. I knew that I was going to have to knock some guards out, so I was prepared to do it. I wasn't going to kill anyone just yet.

But, I knew that I was going to have to do that soon. This war was not going to leave me without bloodied hands.
