Chapter 30 (Edited)

Claire looked at her son and blinked. Her whole posture seemed to change when Cooper walked in. "Yes, why weren't you there?" Her voice was hard as stone, causing me to look at her with a frown.

"Alpha was training," I said, causing both of them to look at me. I shrugged. "He had to do a bit more extra work than the others because of his... shifting problems."She frowned. "You still can't shift?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "An Alpha needs to shift to protect their pack."

I bit back a sigh and rubbed the bridge of my nose. I didn't know what her problem was, but it couldn't be good if she was treating her son as if he was something less. "He is still doing better than some of the Wolves of your pack, Luna," I said. "He is working harder than them, also."

Claire looked at me, raising an eyebrow. "Why are you standing up for him even though he rejected you?" She was confused as to why, but she was his mother. She shouldn't act like blaming something on him and treating him like dirt.

I shrugged, keeping my face blank. "I rejected him," I replied. "He didn't reject me."

"I still don't understand why," Cooper said, causing my pack and I to growl softly. "I mean, I didn't do anything wrong."

Again, I growled. "That's fucking bull shit, and you know it." I took a deep breath, trying to calm my frayed nerves. "I didn't do anything to deserve this treatment." My voice cracked while I looked down.

"You did too," Cooper replied. "You kill-"

"I DID NOT KILL THEM!" I roared, glaring at him. I took a deep breath, trying to keep my anger in check. "I-I wouldn't." I leaned back into Gigi, feeling my anger disappear some. I was still on edge and knew that I would break if he didn't just shut up. "Do you want to know the real reason why I rejected you?" I asked, my voice cracking.

Cooper shifted on his feet before nodding his head.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I still remembered the day as it it had just happened yesterday, even though it was three years ago.

"Come on, Ry," Gigi said. "Why do you want to give him this by yourself?" She gestured to the present that I was wrapping. "Your brother is with Alpha Cameron, and you will not have any protection."

"I know," I replied. "This is why I wanted to give it to him, now."

"You know his other friends will be there," Gigi said. "I think you can stop your crush on-"

"Idon'thaveacrushonCooper!" I exclaimed, blushing furiously. It wasn't a secret that I liked liked Cooper, even though I tried not to.

Gigi blinked, frowning. "Could've fooled me," she replied. She sighed and ran a hand through her blonde hair, knowing that I wasn't going to budge. "Look, I just don't want you to get hurt." She glanced down at my covered up arms, frowning.

"Don't worry, I won't cut myself," I reassured her. I tied a ribbon around the gift. "He isn't worth it." My heart breaked a little when I said that. Who was I kidding? I was going to hurt me, but I needed to make sure that the people that I cared about the most didn't know.

She gave me a small smile and nodded her head. "Good, now get going."

I smiled at her before grabbing the present and running to wherever Cooper was, which happened to to be the forest. A frown appeared on my face while I started to take cautious steps towards them. "Ummm," I said, glancing down when the group turned around and looked at me.

"What is it, Parent Killer?" Cooper sneered.

I glanced down, feeling slightly self conscious in my baggy clothes. "I... um... I-I got you a gift. I am sorry that it is late," I said, blushing slightly. I kept my face down and made sure that my hair covered my flaming cheeks while my heart skipped a beat. I held out the book. "I hope you like it."

Cooper took the book and there was this ripping sound that caused me to cringe. He tossed them at me, one hitting me in the head and the other hitting in the stomach. When that didn't cause me to fall, Cooper shoved me down. "I don't need a present from you, Slut," he growled.

I bit my lip to keep myself from growling. "I'm sorry that you didn't like it," I said, softly.

Cooper snorted and punched me. This lead to the others to start to beat me up, also.

I laid there, closing my eyes, taking the hits that I didn't deserve. I kept myself calm, even though I could feel my anger about to reach it's limits. Breathe, Ry, I thought. It's not time to fight. Not yet.

After what felt a long time and me almost passing out, Cooper and his "friends" stopped. His scent filled my nostrils while he leaned forward, moving his mouth close to my ear. "If you are my mate, then this will be your punishment. I will reject you and kick you out of the pack, leaving you to die. Make no mistake, Rylan. No one will care about you." He pushed my head into the dirt before he and his friends left, laughing.

Back to Present

There was a loud and murderous growl from behind me, and I knew that without a doubt it was my brother. "You fucking bastard!" he snarled, while lunging for him.

I quickly moved in front of him and placed a hand on his chest. I looked up at him, praying that he will listen to me and not attack yet.

He glared at me, and I could see that his eyes were turning black. His Wolf was almost forefront, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to protect Cooper if he was. "Move, Rylan," he growled, shaking under my touch. "This time he pays."

"Rhett, don't," I said. "It was three-"

"I don't care," he snarled. "What if you had cut or killed yourself because of him."

I growled. "Do you have no trust in me, Brother? I just gave up drawing for a while. I was not going to cut myself because of some piece of shit."

"Who happened to be your crush and mate," Liam piped up, causing both of us to growl at him. "What? Why can't we just be done with him all ready? Every time he does something wrong, you stick up for him."

"Alpha couldn't have me and probably has been through some shit because he can't shift," I replied. "And, no matter how much we dislike him, he is still an Innocent. I will not turn out to be like her." I glanced at everyone else.

"But it's just one Innocent," Liam complained, glaring at Cooper. "What could possibly-"

"Mass killing of everyone, the whole world being destroyed, and life as we know it ceases to exist."

"Except for those," Liam muttered.

"I say we give him bruises," Rhett said, growling. "We don't have to kill-"

I growled, some of my powers coming out. This caused to Rhett to look down, submitting to me. "He is still your Alpha and best friend."

"Not-"

"Don't, Rhett," I warned. "Not because of me."

Rhett growled and backed down. "Only because you are my sister," he muttered, giving Cooper a nasty glare.

"I can fight my own battles, you know that, right? I don't need some weak-"

I stopped him with a snarl. "It is my job, Alpha," I spat. "I am not as weak as you think I am." I pointed at the door. "You have done enough damage and had broken me past repair. Why don't you do us all a favor and leave us alone. Why don't you just reject me all ready so I can move on. I don't need you." I took a deep breath, feeling all the pain and the suffering that he caused me come forward. "I HATE YOU!" I yelled. "So do me a favor and leave me the hell alone." With that, I ran into the bathroom, closed and locked the door, turned on the shower, and went into it, so I could cry in peace.

I woke up in my bed with a very bad headache and dry clothes. I sat up, slowly and started to get ready. I was trying to be quiet because Vulcan was a chair, beside my bed, sleeping. I shook my head, remembering that he had taken me out of the shower, placed me in dry clothes, and put me into my bed. After he did that, he just sat down and watched as I cried in my sleep.

After I finished getting ready, I flipped the pillow over before moving the heavy male into the bed that I had slept in. I took off his shoes before putting him under the covers, surprised that he didn't open his eyes. "Stay put," I muttered, knowing that he was half awake. "I'll be safe and back." With that, I pulled on my tennis shoes and walked out of the room before going outside where a hundred pound weight and a Snickers bar was waiting for me. "I hate you, Brick," I muttered before eating the Snickers bar and putting on the weight.

I took a deep breath before starting, going in the opposite direction that I normally took when I was running. However, that didn't stop Cooper from showing up. I huffed and picked up my speed, weaving through the trees.

Surprisingly, Cooper kept right up with me. He didn't say a word, but I could tell that he was having problems with going at this speed. However, he didn't give up, and sadly I admired that.

I caught a scent that made the Beast inside me start to go crazy. I stopped and snarled, knowing that it was him. "Stop hiding and let's do this quickly, Skylar. I am not in the mood."

"Does that mean you have finally cracked?" he asked, coming from behind a tree. He looked me up and down as if I was a piece of meat and licked his lips. Lust filled his eyes, causing me to shudder in disgust.

Both Cooper and I growled, not liking the way he was looking at me. "You wish," I snarled, backing into Cooper. I placed a hand on him, before letting some of my powers out. This goldish-reddish color appeared around us, protecting us from harm. "What do you want?"

"Ah, you don't do formalities. I forgot," Skylar said, shaking his head. "Anyways, you know what I want." Again, he glanced me up and down, not hiding the fact that he did want me.

"Leave, Skylar," I warned. "I am not in the mood for you right now."

Skylar smirked. "Then I guess you don't want to hear what I have to say." He shook his head, again, and sighed. "Oh well." He started to back away, keeping an eye on us both.

"What do you want this time?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him. My whole body was tense, and I was ready to pounce if need be.

Skylar paused in his leaving and cocked his head, thinking. "Well..." he drawled out, causing me to growl a warning. "Your friend- Oh what's their name." He rubbed his chin while having this thinking face on. "Wally, Waldo.." He snapped his fingers and gave me an 'oh that's right' face. "Oh right, Wafilia."

"What about her?" I asked, growing stiff. I growled a warning, praying to the Moon Goddess that he wasn't planning on doing what I was thinking of him doing.

Skylar smirked. "Let's just say... you have a couple of hours before something happens." He grinned, maliciously before leaving. "I hope you can make it!" He turned tail and ran.

I snarled angrily and looked up in a tree, seeing Vulcan. "Get the fastest car ready," I snapped. "We are leaving." I pulled away from Cooper, my powers dying down. "What are you waiting for?" I snapped when all he did was jump down from the tree.

"You are pissed," Vulcan said, his accent getting the better of him. "Your eyes."

I snarled, knowing all too well that my eyes were red. "I don't give a fucking damn. Wafilia is about to die if we don't get to her."

"Then forgive me," Vulcan said. He quickly reached me and sucked some of my energy out, causing me to fall unconscious.

A/N: Well, that escalated quickly. Will they make it? What's going to happen? Will Cooper have a change of heart? Stay tuned for the next chapter. xD

Anyways, I think ya'll will want like a second book or something so sadly, yes, Rylan and Cooper will be together. However, there is this huge thing that has to happen and a lot of crap. Don't worry, he's going to pay. :P

Peace out Fluffy Munchkins
