Chapter 5 (Edited)

"How is she?" someone asked, their voice filled with concern. "She has been out for a day."

"She should gain conscious soon," a voice that I trusted the most said. "Relax, Young Alpha. She isn't dead."

Warm hands grabbed mine and sparks travelled up and down my whole body, warming my insides. "I know," the male said. There was some movement, and I could tell that the person had moved a hand through their hair. "I am just worried, is all."

I squinted, trying to open my eyes. I didnt like that this person was upset with me not waking. I was alive, I knew that much by the fact that there was this dull ache in my bones.

"See, she is waking now," the second voice said, getting clearer. There was a twinge of Romanian accent, and I knew that it was Vulcan.

I opened my eyes and hissed, greeted by the brightness of the room. I closed my eyes and wrinkled my nose, causing the male beside me to chuckle. "Shut up," I groaned. I opened my eyes when the lights were dimmer and looked to see that it was Cooper beside me. "Relax, I am alive," I said, seeing the worry in his eyes.

He brought my hand to his lips and kissed them. "I am glad," he said. He helped me sit up and gave me a glass of water before sitting next to me. "I was worried, however."

I rolled my eyes. "A day isn't that long," I teased, causing him to growl playfully.

"Yes, but you have been gone for three days and slept for one," Cooper said. "And, we are still unmarked and unmated."

I looked down and bit my lip. He was right, we were still unmated, but I couldn't bring myself to let him mark me.

Fear was my greatest enemy. It was what kept me up at night and choked me from telling him to mark me. It was the voice telling me that I was worthless and when he did mark me, he would leave me.

I mean, there had been times when I wanted him to make me, but I just choked up. I couldn't bring myself to let him mark me. However, I made sure that he knew that I loved him and would give him my all when I was ready.

Cooper squeezed my hand, breaking me from my thoughts. A guilty smile was on his face, and his eyes were filled with pain. "I know," he said, softly. "And I know that I have to make it so that you don't fear me."

I brought his hand to my lips and kissed the back of it. "It's not that I'm not afraid of you. I'm just..." I took a deep breath and sighed. "...worried is all." I shook my head. I couldn't tell him what I was thinking, letting the doubt hang in my head. I didn't know what he would do if he realized the true reason as to why I wouldn't let him mark me.

Cooper nodded his head. He kissed my forehead and stood. "Get some rest. I'll bring you some food when you wake up." He pushed me down until I was laying down again.

I pouted, not wanting to go back to bed, even though I knew that it would help me heal. "But I've been asleep for a day." I tugged at his hand, wanting him to stay with me. I moved a bit, making sure that he would have room to lay down. "'Sides, I need a shower and make sure that Nicoleta is fine," I added. I glanced at Vulcan and gave him a 'we need to talk later' look.

Cooper chuckled and laid down beside me. He grabbed hold of me, pulled me closer to him, and kissed my forehead. "You do not smell that bad," he replied.

I snorted and rolled my eyes. "Ya, and you are the Devil, Coop," I said, using his nickname. There had been some times when I would actually call him by his name, but most of the time I would call him Alpha. I only did that because I knew that he hated it.

Cooper rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Now go to sleep," he said. "I'll be here when you wake up?"

I yawned and nestled closer to him. "Promise?" I murmured. I closed my eyes, holding him close to me.

Cooper kissed my forehead. "I promise."

"Good." And with that, I fell asleep in the warm embrace of my mate. And, I couldn't feel happier.

I woke up a couple of hours later, feeling hotter than the Sun. Well, I felt like it anyways. I opened my eyes to see that my mate had moved in his sleep and was laying half on me. I groaned and moved him a bit before sitting up.

I wasn't as sore as I was, but I was mainly hungry.

"Rylan?" someone asked from my left.

I turned to see that it was Vulcan, and he had a bowl of soup with him. I nodded my head in thanks while he gave it to me. "Ea are nevoie să se întoarcă. (She needs to go back)." I took a bite of the soup and looked to see Vulcan glaring at me. "Ea este singura pe care am încredere. (She is the only one that I can trust)."

"Nu, (No)," Vulcan said. "Nu voi permite. (I will not allow it)."

"Chiar dacă este ceea ce vrea să facă? (Even if it is what she wants to do)?"

"Nu, o să o omoare. (No, he'll kill her)."

"El nu va. (He won't)."

"Ea nu va merge. În cazul în care o face, iar tu e că i-ar fi spus să meargă, atunci voi nu te iert. (She will not go. If she does, and it is you that had told her to go, then I will never forgive you.)" With that, he walked out of the room and slammed the door.

A grimace was on my face when he did that, and I couldn't help the wave of hurt flow from me to him. I knew him well enough to know that he will not forgive me if she does go. The question was, how was I going to stop her?

A/N: Well, there is trouble in paradise.  Wonder if Vulcan will leave her alone. And, Cooper will mark her, but I don't know what chapter that will be. (Spoiler alert: I will be making a charrie be back alive for a chapter.)

Also, if you haven't checked, look back at 'The Red Wolf', there are some extra's that ya'll will need to read. One is going to break your heart, the other will not. What I'm gonna do is update extras once a week and have it one breaking your heart and the next not.

So, be prepared for heart break.

Also, please, don't forget to vote/comment. I'd really love to hear your feedback.

Peace out Fluffy Munchkins,

Rissa.
