THE PROHECY OF THE TWINS

"THE PROPHECY WILL COME TRUE, LENORA." Lenora didn't want to believe that Mal and Milo will one day come to fulfill the prophecy that Gwendolyn fear the most. They were both fourteen years old who have lost their mother at such a young age. They're were forced to grow up without a mother.

Since the tragedy that occurred in AshFolk, Gwendolyn sacrificed her life for love. Love that she never was meant to have. Her lips twirled in the element of surprise.  "It cannot happen."

"It must. The prophecy speaks of a day when twins from the bloodline of King Lot will be born. One will rise to greatness and embrace the light. The other will rise to greatness and embrace the dark." Melvas tone darkened, fearfully. "The twins should be isolated from the rest of the village until they're ready." Lenora couldn't believe what they were suggesting. If Gwendolyn was alive, she would demand a fair chance for her children to grow up like the rest of the children, embracing the nature of the Dewdenn. "There must be another way, Melvas." The old bald-headed man sighed. "There is no way. Mal and Milo will remain in this part of the area. They would grow up under the guidance of the elders." That's when she snapped, she wouldn't let the children of Gwendolyn be raised like this. Not like this.

"You can't make them grow up like animals! Their Gwendolyn children." Immediately, Melvas tensed up hearing the hurt in her voice. Something wasn't adding right. "Since when you care? Surely, Gwendolyn may have not been acting a good friend to you in the last few years before her death." Lenora closed her eyes, feeling regret.

Melvas sighed. "You shouldn't blame yourself, Lenora. You have one thing to do, the children need protection. They need a mother. Since their mother is no longer here. They'll be protected by you. It would make sense."

"The people of the village will never accept them," she argued. He sighed. "They will never know. Gwendolyn and Charles didn't die for no reason. They died for their children to grow up and lived." She sighed falling back, unable to breathe.

"Will you help me?" She asked. He sighed. "I'm afraid, my time is running out. Lenora, you must take care of the kids. Your only hope, make sure they go on the right path."

"How long do you have?" She asked with tears in her eyes. "A month." She turns to leave, but he stops her. "Don't ignore me, Lenora. We both know the prophecy will come true. The red paladins attacked and tried to kill the children because of the prophecy, they fear it will come true. It's stated that one of these kids will end up joining the Trinity Guard. Unless they'll fail, they might lure the dark one to their side. That's where you come in. You must help them on the right path. Guide them."

"You have to wait." Lenore couldn't understand. He turned to her holding his breath before letting out. "The night the red paladins attacked Gwendolyn and Charles, they marked them." Lenore didn't understand. "What, I don't understand?" She asked. "The children are marked of death. It's stated that both of them will need to die in order to be brought back to life."

"So, when the time comes...both of them need to die?" She asked he sighed. "Yes, one of them will kill the other one, if it doesn't happen then they will both die." Lenore couldn't believe it hearing those words. Their twins, they wouldn't do that.

"We're going to keep them so they can die at the proper moment. We'll be raising them like a pig for slaughter." She told him horrified unable to comprehend. "Don't tell me now that you've grown to care for them." Immediately, Lenore used her hands for a flower to appeared, a red flower.

"Gwendolyn?" He asked. "After all this time?" Lenore held her lips from blurting out anything else. Despite the terrible communication, they had these recent years, that didn't blow away the love she had for her. Gwendolyn was like a sister, she had never had. She loved her children, they'll always be like her children to her. Gwendolyn loved Nimue, she loved Mal and Milo. Nothing will ever change that.

"Always." She spoke, silently. She stared into Melvas eyes refusing to look away. He had to understand that she is doing this for Gwendolyn. Not for the elders or him. She was always going to raise them like they were her own. Their Gwendolyn kids, she couldn't leave them on the side as litter. Despite their fate, terrible fate, she will raise them to be cautious and brave. They'll be strong like their father and quick as their mother. Nothing will ever change her mind about them. Nimue loves the twins, she loves them. The twins will be raised as her own. Gwendolyn might have broken their connection in recent years, she never did. She couldn't leave that special bond they have grown up. Gwendolyn supported her in anything despite hearing rumors that she was done with her, she didn't blame her either. It was her own stupid fault. She loves Merlin but she loves Gwendolyn, as well. She wouldn't hurt her memory like that. Her children will be raised as hers, beside Nimue. Those children will be reminders of Gwendolyn and Charles but she will love them with all her heart.

"I always had and I will always will," she spoke staring into Melvas. It's always been, Gwendolyn. She will do right in her memory to protect her children from the destiny they are going to face. She will love them like her very own. "Are you sure?" Melvas asked interrupting her thoughts. Lenore turned at him shaking her head. Inside, she was scared but the outside, she felt brave. "I will protect them like they are my very own. Milo and Mal will be under my guidance until my death."
