CHAPTER ONE.

He saw her smile.

She was broken

"Gwendolyn, you must eat!" Lenora told her passively shoving food in front of her. She stared in silence not showing emotion. It's been weeks since the death of her beloved father. "How can I, eat?" She snapped out of her trance shoving herself in front of Lenora.
"My father was the ticket so, I can keep my babies with me, then we can travel to Charles kingdom. They'll be reunited with their father." Slowly she turn to see the small cribs that were build in the distance for her children.

Lenora gulps. She knew very well that elders have seen a prophecy involving Gwendolyn children. That one child is destined for greatness and the other one will stumbled upon darkness. It was ill to wished anything against innocent newborn babies but it last it had come down to the FreeFolk Princess to give birth to twins, in mid-winter. Gwendolyn father, Orion had been very respected around Dewdenn and had protected his daughter from her babies being taken away. Now, he is gone. She is left to fend for herself, to fight with the elders for her children.

"Those onions-heads can rot in hell-," Slowly she began to speak, when cries can be heard at the distance. Immediately she stood up, walking to her child. "My beautiful boy, Milo." She spoke loudly, she moved side to side trying to calm down her little baby boy. "You look like your father, Charles. He misses you, I bet he does."

Lenora cleared her throat. "Charles had come another day to ask permission from the elders to let him see his children." Gwendolyn turned her head, siding upon her view. "What did they say?"

"He was denied." Lenora spoke, slowly. She watched as her voice cleared up. "That's good." Gwendolyn spoke sourly, still holding her baby boy. Lenora leaned forward. "You know I'm your friend? I always have been. I look for what's best for you, in the deepest sour. I love your children as they were my very own. If you very well miss him, it's okay to." Slowly she began to turned around only for Gwendolyn to soon realized what she was trying to say. "I love Nimue as a daughter, too." That's when Lenora stopped looked upon her dear friend dearly.

Gwendolyn rushed towards her holding her hands. "If I ever died, take care for my children. Don't let them be taken in by those elders. I need them safe." Lenora took her hand. "I will. God, no. Don't think that way. Nothing is going to happen." She looked into her fearful eyes.

A week passed by, Gwendolyn could noticed her babies began to grow bigger weighting a lot heavier than usual. She kissed her son little toe, in delight. Her daughter was being carried by Lenora, who smiled fondly upon the little one. "Milo, is just like his father. I could see it. His handsomeness is purest ideal tone like his father, Charles." Lenora smiled upon her, she moved side to side holding baby Mal, who is nothing more than exact image like her mother. "This one looks like you, Gwendolyn. She is going to very beautiful."

"Mama," a girl began speaking. Gwendolyn noticed immediately smiled in delight. "Nimue, my love. Come here, come here." Nimue immediately ran towards Gwendolyn for a open hug, Gwendolyn slowly held her son upright began to showed to Nimue, "Nimue, meet my one month son, his name is Milo." The little 3 year old girl laughed so delightful began to smiled at the little girl.

"Milo!" She began smiling eagerly. Lenora, gasped. "Nimue, come here!"

"It's okay, Lenora. Nimue is eagerly just happy angelic girl." When she said those words, Nimue began to smiled heavily in delight, falling into her arms. They all seem happy but they knew deep inside happiness can't last forever.

It's been there months, Gwendolyn had heard no news of her current husband, Charles.
She was getting scared. Did he moved on? He can't leave her like this. Lenora held onto baby Mal in her lap while Gwendolyn held her son, Milo. "There is no way Charles wouldn't stop coming. His letters had stopped. I'm the woman he loves. He wanted to claim me as his wife. He said his brother is sickly and that he might become king, either way, I would have been his wife by the eyes of the court."
Lenora began to patted her friend back concern. "I don't know what to say."

Gwendolyn turned to her with a smile. "You must seek him. Go. The last, I heard he is in King Uther Pendragon castle. Their good friends, you must seek him out. I need to know what's he up to, please tell him, I still need him."

Slowly she looked horrified but she began to think, she'll see Merlin. She smiled at her request, accepting it. Gwendolyn jumped for a hug squeaking in excitement. "Your good friend, Lenora."

It's been five months, Gwendolyn has been getting worried. Lenora has not send any letter informing her of Charles whereabouts soon enough, the door to her cottage open revealing Lenora.

"My dearest friend," she open her arms for a hug only to have Charles appeared beside her. She stopped slowly eyeing him, concern. Her husband is back and right in front of her. "Excuse me, Gwendolyn." She closed the door, she watched as Charles didn't paid attention to her walked over to the babies in their crib. He first picked up his girl.

"Her name is Mal. Lenora told me." He informed her. "I asked, it's been while since I've seen my children," She gasped. "It's short for Maleagent." How dare Lenora tell him. He had no right to know.

"We should have name her Roslin, after my grandmother." Charles spoke he held onto his child. He finally turned around facing. "I had come here to inform you that I'm getting married." As soon as she said her heart broke. She began to trembled, it can't be. "To whom?" She began to tear up, she felt her stomach break into pieces.

"My father arranged a marriage with a lady." He paused. "We have to married within a year. They she's very beautiful." Gwendolyn paused, "Do you loved her?" Immediately, Charles smiled, "Are you mad? I only have loved one woman in my life, you? A Fey princess, somebody, I couldn't have fallen for or married, it's you. I wanted you as wife yet you choose to take away my children and we grow apart each day." Gwendolyn looked at his saddened eyes. She was doing this for his own good. She is Fey and he is human. Their children aren't normal, their special. Nobody can understand that only where she comes from. Charles couldn't, if he were to find out, he would killed his children. Thinking their monsters. The elders also need this prophecy to come true.

The twins have to lived and fulfill it.
