CHAPTER 7
Keefe was able to leave the infirmary as well. Sophie and all her friends then left as planned. Then Sophie decided not to leave her boyfriend alone, so she took him back to Havenfield, knowing that this would be a very awkward moment .... with Grady aka Papa Poule who would be a little less happy to learn that she is in a relationship with Keefe.
- I'm dreaming Foster, is that a star dragon? Keefe asked as he approached an enclosure where the dragoness was resting peacefully.
- Yes, exactly, it's a baby and her name is Sohaila. Are you ready to have an embarrassing moment?
- I think so!
Sophie led Keefe into her home, which was filled with a sweet smell.
- Oh, Edaline's making ripplefluffs ! exclaimed the young man.
- Mummy! Daddy! I'm back, with Keefe. Edaline came out of the kitchen, Grady was coming down the stairs carrying a load of books.
- Ah Sophie! Hello, Keefe, to what do we owe this late visit? asked Edaline.
- Well... it's a bit complicated to explain, but Keefe really shouldn't be left alone, so I took the liberty of bringing him here. Do you mind?
- No!" said Edaline.
- Yes!" replied Grady, earning him a glare from his wife.
- We'll be glad to have you here. The summoner told him, but why do you need to be left alone?
- Come on, I'll explain. Sophie led her adoptive parents into the dining room to sit down. The young woman explained in great detail:
- Wait, what? exclaimed Grady, "You're telling me .... that an elf stole her heart and Oralie's, and that he can hurt her at any time and your instillation will relieve him.
- Yes, that's pretty much it, sir.
- We have something to tell you too! Sophie enthused.
- What is it? asked Grady.
- Well Keefe and I are going out.
- WHAT! shouted the mesmer .
- But that's great! cried Edaline, throwing herself around her daughter's neck.
- Oh, no, it's not!
- Oh yes ! she mesm, sitting up.
- No, it isn't!
- Grady! Edaline called back in an almost frightening voice, "Sophie has the right to choose who she wants to spend the rest of her life with, it's not up to you. Eda's pulling herself together, so please make an effort. She said, softening.
- Very well, grumbled Grady.
- AAAA !!!! Keefe screamed in pain and put his hand to his chest.
Sophie instilled every feeling of gentleness, but Keefe's crisis only ceased after a few minutes. The young man had gone white and his breath was coming in gasps.
- What happened? Grady asked in amazement.
- The oppressor, he... he squeezed my heart to give me pain .... which he prefers to do... Keefe stammered. Edaline brought him a lush juice which the young man drank.
- That's why I don't want to leave him alone.
- I'll ask Fiori if she can set up the guest room. Grady said as he left the room.
- Sophie, you should call Oralie to see how she's doing, the red ghost could have hurt her too... and now that you're here, no one has been able to ease her pain.
- You're right, Keefe. Sophie took out her transmitter and called her biological mother, she received no answer, she tried a second call this time someone picked up, but it was not her mother's face that appeared.
- Councillor Velia! Sophie exclaimed, Where is Counsellor Oralie?
- Well, that's just it, Sophie, I... Before she could continue her sentence a howl of pain was heard. It was Oralie's.
- Oralie! exclaimed a male voice, which was Bronte's. Breathe! Bronte said to her.
- The red ghost is clutching her heart, we need to instill some gentleness in her! The young woman exclaimed to Bronte, Velia had put the transmitter on the ground.
- I'm not sure I can do it. replied the elder.
- I'm sure you can, it's the only way to ease her pain.
- I'll try, but I can't promise anything. There were a few minutes of silence, and Sophie, Edaline and Keefe could hear the councilwoman's plaintive moans.
- It's not working, Sophie. Bronte said to her.
- Where are you? I'll help you!
- We're in Eternalia, in the palace ballroom.
- I'll be right there! Sophie hung up and teleported away without even giving Edaline time to say anything.
Sophie stormed into the room, her teleportation never more precise.
- All that's left is to work on the landing. She muttered to herself. The telepath had landed against a pillar, she turned and saw Oralie on the floor, bent over, groaning in pain beside her, Velia and Bronte trying to instil some gentleness into Oralie. The young woman ran to her mother. Velia left her place. Sophie closed her eyes and poured out a stream of well-being, gentleness and calm, which seemed to work. Oralie stopped writhing in pain, the empath was shaking like a leaf in the wind, her breath was ragged and she lost consciousness.
Bronte took charge of calling Elwin, while Sophie entered the counsellor's mind.
- Mummy?
- Sophie?
- It's me, I let myself in to see if you were all right... you fainted...
- I'm... I'm fine now, thanks again. .... Did he hurt Keefe?
- Yes... but now he's better too, he's Havefield, I'll let you rest, you need it. Sophie went out of her mind. Elwin had arrived and taken charge of the empath. Sophie was able to go home with some peace of mind.
