CHAPTER 13

Ako suddenly stopped eating and looked into Sophie's eyes, his pupils dilated and he sat up, his long stained tail floating like a hypnotized snake. He gently approached Sophie. He sniffed at her and clung to her like a baby koala.

- I think she likes you! Fitz said to her.

- Yes... I still can't believe I'm looking at marsupilami... it's just so incredible.

- They're not adults yet. Says Grady, they've been separated from their parents. Ako had the same reaction when he arrived, he clung to Edaline like glue, I think it took an hour to convince him to discover his home.

- His sister, on the other hand, is very adventurous when we put her in the enclosure and in less than ten minutes she had gone round the greenhouse and found her tracks. They are very endearing beings who socialise very quickly. Ako come here. The conjurer said softly, stretching out her arms towards the marsupilami, who jumped to her neck.

- He's so cute! Maruca exclaimed.

- What if we went to prepare this evening? suggested Dex.

- We're going to get some blankets. Tam said and pulled out her jumping crystal with her sister.

- Okay, we'll get the pillows ! exclaimed Marella and Biana in chorus.

- Well, we'll take care of the food, said Sophie in honour of Fitz, Dex and Wylie.

- Do you want some help? asked Edaline.

- I'm sure we'll be fine, we don't want to disturb you any longer, Lady Edaline. The flasher replied politely.

- I'm here if there's any trouble.

- fine !

The group of friends met again two hours later under Calla's panacier. They had set up everything and had put on their pyjamas, the sun was beginning to sink on the horizon.

Marella had lit lanterns with Wylie. Sophie had put on some music thanks to her IPad which she had kept preciously since her arrival in the lost cities .

The friends chatted all night long, laughing and telling each other stories from their younger days.

Dawn was beginning to break over the Havenfield estate. Sophie had not slept all night and got up quietly so as not to wake her friends. She went down to Sohaila's nest. The dragoness was already awake, Sophie entered and caressed the mythical animal.

- Sophie? Mummy, Daddy.

- I promise we'll find them once the red phantom  is out of the way.

- The red phantom ! Sohailla exclaimed, moving away from Sophie and lying down in a corner of the house at the mention of the name.

- Do you know the red Phantom ?

- Yes! He attacked Mummy, Daddy!

- What?

- Attacked him! Me run away!

- I promise you I'll sort him out!

- Sophie, are you OK? asked Grady.

- The red Phantom attacked Sohaila's parents, that's why she came to us.

- She's a monster... whispered Edaline.

- I'm going to make him swallow his cloak! Sophie raged.

- Oh believe me, you'll never make it... came a voice. Sohailla snarled, and the red phantom appeared behind Eda.

- Oh if you could see your faces, hilarious. No need to make that face, little hummingbird. You can never beat me, I'm more powerful than you. I'll show you, he snapped his fingers and Edaline disappeared.

- Edaline! Grady and Sophie shouted in unison.

- What have you done to her? Sophie shouted. Her friends came running.

- Here comes the cavalry, he laughed.

- Answer my question!

- It's up to you to guess where it is! He disappeared with an evil laugh. Sophie fell to her knees in tears.
