Chapter 41: A trio of storms
<This got finished mostly on schedule! It's a bit later then I would have liked it, but I'm getting somewhere with the schedule! It's harder then I thought but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end! Also new Grian design at the bottom! Now enjoy chapter 41!>
Alastor clawed at the massive claw crushing his chest, begging the Hermit-turned-beast to pull away. But to his dismay the massive dragon just pressed harder. He shakily took off his mask, hoping that Rook (for there was nothing of Grian left in the thing slowly killing him) would spare him if he saw the pure terror and pain in his eyes.
But it didn't work. If anything it made Rook even more furious than before, if the increased pressure on his ribcage was anything to go by.
"Please, stops this!" Wheezed Alastor, tears of pain gathering his eyes. Maybe he should have faced Vex justice, because it would most definitely be better than this. "You'll regret this! I know you will!"
That was weak, he knew it before he even said it. Gria-Rook would regret this if he ever turned back to normal, especially if he found out the truth about his father, but he wouldn't regret it right this second.
He knew he was a dead man, but that didn't make the snap of his ribs breaking any less painful. If anything it made it worse, since he knew it would be one of the last things he'd ever feel.
So with his body going numb, Alastor shut his mind off and just tried to relax. Which helpt when the darkness took over him, lulling him to unconsciousness and a land of no dreams.

The Hermits and Evolutionsis were surprised when they all started fading. It had been three "days" (memories) since a trio of them had woken up, and the memories hadn't been bad but not nice either. It was more just taunting words from Hills, with responding glares from Grian. Though one thing to note was that Grian was more dragon than ever.
He had gotten taller (many hoped it wouldn't stay, they couldn't live with Grian being taller than nearly all of them), every visible part of his skin was covered of dark scales with a galaxy like shimmer but the bottom part of his mouth remained the same. His eyes had slowly shifted from only violet to change to being icly blue with the slits remaining violet. And a woman named Califir had been there for a quick moment, and she had removed every scar on Grian's body no matter how old. This confused everyone, but they didn't complain about it.
It was now time for memory number nine. Hopefully it, along with day ten, would be as calm as the three days before them. But knowing how things had been up to this point that didn't seem likely, and even less likely for day ten.
"Tell me, Void, do you know what a Watcher is?" Asked Hills, looking at Grian with red eyes.
"I do." Nodded Grian. "I was one for a short while. It just wasn't for me."
The shadow glared a little at him. "So you left them? I didn't see you as arrogant."
"Arrogant? They gave me the choice to leave!" Hissed the dragon hybrid, white fire with hints of light purple lighting up the inside of his mouth. But before anything could happen with the fire the choker around his neck glowed, well the symbols engraved on it did.
Hills huffed. "Your one of the lucky few who could. The rest of us were just cast out forcefully."
Grian looked up at him sharply. "Us? Do you mean that, that you-?"
"Were once a Watcher? Yes, that is what I mean."
"I don't believe you." Said Grian, crossing his arms. "Not since I don't think you were cast out, but because you look like Joe."
Hills raised an eyebrow at the dirty blond. "Really? You were a Watcher yet you don't know what a Shadow is?"
"I wasn't one for very long." Bristled Grian.
"Since I don't feel like saying anything that can get me killed, here's the short of it; like a Shadow I am flexible and a crooked reflection of a person, I can also change shape in an instant. And Hills isn't my real name, just a name for this current form."
Hills left after that. Leaving behind so many questions it wasn't even funny. Why was he helping Fallacy? How long had he worked for them? And so on. It hurt Grian's head just to think about it. So he just decided to sleep, hoping his dreams would be better.
"A cast out Watcher?" Squeaked Pearl. "I didn't even know that was possible!"
"Which doesn't bode well." Said EX, rubbing his hand on his helmet seemingly forgetting that he was wearing it and that he wasn't rubbing his temples.
"Let's hope we can get rid of him." Muttered Cub. "I don't really like the sound of what he can do."
Agreement followed his statement. Hills didn't seem like a fun opponent to face.

"Are we there yet?" Whined Tango.
Loud sighs followed his question. He has asked the same question consistently every five minutes, and on the dot to (which would have been impressive had it not been so annoying).
"I don't know." Growled Doc, his tone slightly mocking. "Can you see a tundra up ahead?"
"I can!"
Cleo and Doc stopped at that. "Wait what?! You can?" And just upahed it was, the tundra they'd have to walk though to get to the red birch forest.
Tango looked a little smug at that, he had finally gotten his question a good answer. "Thank you, thank you! No need to cheer, I already know how cool I am."
Eye rolles followed his words, but his two mob friends didn't really mind. "Let's get going." Said Cleo. "If we start walking now we'll be halfway there by dusk."
As they entered the tundra a gyrfalcon swooped down from the sky and landed next to them in a tree. The white and brown speckled falcon looked like any other of its kind, if not a bit bigger, but its eyes were not normal. The falcon usually had black eyes, but this one had deep red ones. Before they could get a closer look it flew off, heading further into the lands of the tundra.
"That was weird." Said Cleo, look at where the bird had flown off to. "Have either of you two ever seen a falcon like that before?"
"I haven't." Said Doc. "But maybe it's just a weird type of albino of some kind?"
"Or maybe me as a falcon!" Smiled Tango, making sure to show off his very red eyes.
"Don't insult birds like that!" Scolded Doc, slapping Tango lightly on his head.
It took the blond a few moments to figure out exactly what the other male had said. "Hey!"
The three laughed as they made their way towards their destination, this was going to be a breeze!
>>-<< (Time skip!) >>-<<
It was not a breeze. It was actually a storm, and a snowstorm at that.
"Can anyone see shelter of some kind?" Shouted Cleo, hoping she could be heard over the howling wind.
Twin "no!"'s answered her. She was disappointed that they still didn't have shelter, but still glad the other two were still close to her.
Another gust of snow filled air hit her and she nearly fell face first into the snow, but something stopped her fall. Looking down she was met with the beautiful coat of a snow leopard. Cleo had all of five seconds to think hard about it before she, along with Doc and Tango, were in a cave safe from the storm.
"Did you also see the snow leopard?" Asked Cleo, a little out of breath from fighting through the snow still.
"Yeah." "It was beautiful." Were said by Tango and Doc respectively.
"Good. Glad to know I'm not crazy then."
There was a short silence when the three regained their breathing. "I think we should sleep." Suggested Tango, already laying down.
The other two agreed and laid down themselves. It didn't take long for them to fall asleep, their day had been extremely taxing.
From the mouth of the cave to animals watched them fall asleep, twin red eyes keeping an eye out for the three Hermits.
No harm would befall the three here. They were safe, if only for the moment.
<I'm more proud of the first two parts then the last one, but I still think it all turned out pretty good! Also I bring good news: I'll be getting my phone back soon (they found what was wrong with it and are now fixing it!) which means the art from there will be the next chapter (or next few). Now let's see the new Grian design.
Mostly the same design idea, but things have been changed slightly to look better. Also I'm changing how I draw Grian's hair, I want something nicer then what I have at the moment. There's probably a void dragon redesign (or design for those of you who haven't seen how the void dragons look) coming in the future too.
Now stay safe and have a wonderful time everyone!>
