Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer

We all sat down at the shelter, sipping on some hot coffee.

"I am truly sorry for crashing into you, Taehyung. Someone didn't teach me how to stop." I glared at Jungkook, when he didn't look apologetic for crashing into Taehyung.

"That's fine Jongsu, I can teach you how to stop with a snowboard." He flashed his rectangle box smile.

"Well we've been here for an hour I think it's time to go Jongsu." Jungkook got up, pulling my hand. Confused, I waved to Taehyung.

"What is your problem?" I asked in the process of being dragged. "My problem? I don't have a problem Su." His voice was hard and monotone.

I didn't argue back knowing he's probably angry or even maybe jealous. Wait jealous? Of what?

I was still thinking why he would be jealous, before I knew it we were standing outside of his car.

We got in as he drove off. He dropped me off back to my apartment. Without a word I left his car.

The next day I was working cleaning the tables. The door to the bell rung, "I'll be there in a bit." I finished wiping the table clean heading to the counter.

"Hello, what would you- oh Mrs. Jeon hello. Is there anything you like to drink?" I was stunned to see Jungkook's mom standing in front of me.

She smiled sweetly and ordered a cup of hot latte. She asked me to sit and talk with her, and so I did.

"How are you doing?" She asked, nervously playing with my fingers I replied, "I'm doing well, how about you?" I smiled giving a nervous laugh.

"Good. How are you and Jungkook doing?" She asked throwing me off guard, "very well." She sipped on her latte.

"That's good. Is there something wrong with Jungkook?" I looked at her shrugging my shoulders. "I don't know, is he ok?"

She set her cup of latte down, "he came home upset yesterday, I'm just wondering if you know why? I've never seen him so upset." I bit the inside of my mouth.

"I-I really don't know why he's upset Mrs. Jeon. We went out to do some snowboarding. We met a friend, a guy friend. I accidently crashed into him, and apologized, but Jungkook didn't look like he was sorry. After that, he dragged me out of the place and dropped me off to my apartment. I'm assuming he's angry with something or perhaps... jealous?" I wasn't sure but I only spoke with what I thought.

His mom nodded her head, pursing her lips into a thin line. "I see." Slowly the end of her lips tugged a smile. "He must really love you."

Her statement made me froze, eyes widen, holding my breath. She laughed, "don't be too surprised, I can tell he really loves you. He asked me all these things a girl would like to do in winter. As his mother, I was surprised he would ask me." She laughed sipping her latte, leaving me speechless.

"You two are really cute. I caught him when I asked if he was taking you on a date. That boy was in denial, but spoke the truth. He said you never celebrated Christmas. Is that true?" She asked.

I looked into her big eyes. No wonder Jungkook has big eyes, he got them from his mother. I nodded, "that's true. I've never celebrated Christmas." I looked down to my hands.

"Don't worry darling, I'll make sure you'll have a wonder Christmas with us." She smiled, "oh I forgot, the Christmas party is in 7 days, the theme color of the party is red. Jungkook chose the color. It's his turn to choose a color this year. And the family Christmas dinner is also red. Jungkook loves the color red." She chuckled emphasizing the word love.

"Thank you for telling me." I thanked. We talked a bit more, until she has to leave. I went back to work, as the day was getting darker and colder.

I closed the café, stepping out of the café wrapping the scarf tighter. I walked ahead of me, hearing the snow crunch beneath me feet.

I didn't notice the lights that were lit up. Little twinkling lights that I never knew existed.

The snow fell beautifully, making this even more beautiful then ever. I smiled staring at the lights. I heard quick footsteps behind me.

I turned around seeing a round table and two chairs set up. I don't remember seeing those there. I ignored it walking down further.

Again I heard the same quick footsteps but multiples. Like they were running or scattering. I turned around confused.

An umbrella, a set of tea cups and a cartoon film playing on a brick wall. I furrowed my eyebrows, this is getting weird.

I saw a black figure stepping out behind a tree. "Jungkook? What are you doing? Why are these here?" I walked to him.

He smiled warmly, "have a seat." He appointed me to sit, and I followed. "I see you're wearing your winter gears." I laughed while he sat across from me.

"What are you doing?" I asked chuckling, "you mean what are we doing?" I was confused but nodded anyways.

"We're watching a cartoon film. Have you seen any of the Christmas cartoon films?" He asked while I shook my head.

His bunny teeth flashed, "great because we're watching one of my favorite Christmas cartoon." He exclaimed, I turned my head to face the now playing cartoon film.

"What are we watching?" I turn back to jungkook. "Rudolph the red nose reindeer." He happily announced the movie title.

I put my attention into the film. "I made some hot chocolate to stay warm, and I brought a blanket." Jungkook passed me a cup of hot chocolate.

"Only one blanket?" I questioned, "yeah, I couldn't find the other ones I hope you don't mind sharing." I shook my head.

We pushed the table up, and position ourselves side to side until our shoulders are touching. Jungkook pulled the blanket over us.

"Iron man?" I snickered, "what, a grown man can't have an Iron Man blanket?" I chuckled shaking my head.

The beginning of the film, is a talking snowman, narrating the movie. I was so into the movie.

"Aww poor Rudolph." I sniffed sipping on the hot chocolate. I pulled the blanket over my shoulders to stay warm from the cold.

Every time a song comes on, jungkook and I would sway to the song and laugh. The movie finally ended, "that was a good movie. Now I know who Santa and Rudolph is." I stretched.

"This was my favorite Christmas film and it still is." Jungkook stretched with me, making me chuckle.

"It's still snowing." I stood outside of the umbrella, watching the snowfall. Jungkook wrapped his blanket around me, feeling the warmth again.

"Yeah, it still is." He mumbled, watching the snow fall. "Thank you for today." I thanked.

"You're welcome." I could feel him smile.

"I wish I could do this every year." My voice was soft hoping Jungkook didn't hear it. "We could." I look up to Jungkook, seeing him stare down at me.

He leaned in, his face getting closer. I was frozen at the spot, what does he think he is doing? The closer he leans in, the hotter I could fell his breath.

My heart racing and pounding wanting to jump out. Our nose touched, but he continues to lean in.

"Stop!" I put my hands on his chest to stop him. "W-we can't do this." I breath turning my head the other way.

"Why? Why jongsu?" Jungkook's voice, so soft and quiet, almost in pain. "W-we have to follow what we promised the day we... we met. Plus it's been 5 days since we met." I stared at my boots.

Back to the first day they met.

In the café we ordered some drinks. Jungkook sat in front of me.

"So the whole girlfriend thing, continue on." I waited for him to start.

"Right. Tomorrow I have to bring in my girlfriend to dinner, because my grandpa wants to meet his future granddaughter. The thing is... I don't have a girlfriend, so I'm done for." He sulked.

"So what do I have to? Be your girlfriend for that day only?" I asked, "I wish, it's complicated. Just be my girlfriend till the end of the month." He begged, while I sat there.

I took a sip, on my latte. "Sure, I guess I can do that." Jungkook sighed in relief, clasping his hands together and did a little prayer to the gods.

"One condition, we must not fall in love. I don't even think we'll be in contact except for the important dates such as tomorrow, and the Christmas party. I don't want you to get too involved with me or my family. We're only doing this till the end of the month, and we cut all ties. Sounds good?" He waited for my reply.

I nodded, "sounds good." He smiled "great, shake hands." We shook hands to keep our words.

Back to where we were before.

Jungkook backed away, pulling his blanket with him. "That's right. I-I'm sorry I forgot. I'll take you home." I followed him, with my head down.

I sat on the passenger side of Jungkook's car. I watched the Christmas lights pass, seeing Santa and his reindeer.

On the way to my apartment, the ride was quiet. Once we arrived, he parked the car. No one daring to move or speak.

I unbuckled the seat belt, "thanks for the movie." He hummed a 'no problem.'

I stepped out of his car as he left immediately. I stood at the curve of the street.

Why do I feel guilty? Why did he even try? Did he forget what we promised? I don't know anymore. I continue to stand outside of my apartment, getting the coldness numb my skin.

The cold feeling is like the coldness in my heart. I didn't feel the same warmth when I was with Jungkook.

I didn't even know I was crying. Covering my face with my hands, I fell on my knees and sobbed.

"I messed up. I messed up." Repeatedly I whispered to myself with the same words.

I think I'm falling in love with Jungkook.
