Chapter Three: P.I.X.A.L.

Kai wakes up to his new phone ringing. He reads the caller ID. ASH. "What does he want?" Kai asks the empty room. It was midnight and he had been having a good dream. When the red ninja picks up the call the first thing he hears is yelling. "OH MY GOSH! YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS! WE'RE GETTING A PROGRAM!" Ash's voice calls over the phone. Kai rubs his head. "You woke me up at midnight for this?" He asks his younger brother. "Sorry, but that isn't the only news! We have a mission to! So you need to come in." Kai sighs. He hates night jobs.

Kai puts the note he just wrote for everyone on his pillow and heads for the window. He is just about to leave in his assassin gear when his door nob jiggles. "Kai? Can ask you something?" He hears Lloyd's voice. "Crap." Kai mutters and quickly strips into his boxers, throwing his clothes in the dresser. Lloyd fully enters and is surprised to see Kai up, and in so little clothing. Kai laughs nervously then quickly grabs the note and puts it in his night stand drawer.

"W-what is it you wanted to ask?" Kai says and sits on his bed, patting the space next to him. Lloyd shuffles in and sits a bit to close. "I-um.... I had a nightmare." Lloyd confesses. "Let me guess, you want to sleep with me?" Kai asks. Lloyd blushes, realizing the dirty meaning that sentence could have and freezes. "W-what?" Lloyd asks, getting nervous. Kai chuckles, oh how Lloyd loved it. "You had a bad dream and now you want to sleep in my bed with me." Kai states with a quirked eyebrow. Lloyd blushes. "Y-yeah.... Th-that's what you mean!" Lloyd says, getting flustered. Kai chuckles again. "Don't worry, I won't let anyone hurt you." Kai says with a wink. Lloyd couldn't tell what the wink was about. Could Kai be flirting with him? Or is it just Kai being Kai? He was always the cocky one.

"Now, normally I would love to help you out, you know that... Right?" Kai finishes with a question. "Yeah, I know you'll always be there for me." Lloyd answers. Kai nods. "I can't tonight though. I..... I'm kinda practicing for a date tomorrow and need total privacy!" Kai says. "OH." Lloyd says. Upset that Kai was with someone, and most likely a girl to!

Kai kisses Lloyd's forehead the way a parent did their child. "Now go try to sleep, think of something that makes you happy. That always helps me." Kai says and ushers Lloyd out before placing the note back in its place, getting dressed, and heading out the window after interning his 'dragon' form.

Kai arrives at the guild entrance where Ash waits with a mission file in hand and two fancy watches. Ash watches as his brother lands in front of him, red scales covering the elder agents body and two big red dragon wings that made him jealous. When Kai lands Ash watches the scales retreat under his brothers skin as the wings to the same. 

"What's the mission?" Kai asks. "OK, first is the program." Ash says then puts a small black watch on Kai's wrist. "This watch and mine..." Ash shows the watch on his wrist. "Are linked to a program that has been assigned to us. This program will hold all our missions, mission reports, and other kinds of data." Ash explains. Kai nods then turns on the watch. A robotic voice comes through. "I am P.I.X.A.L. Nice to meet you agent 7 6 9" Pixal says. Kai raises a brow. "She is our new teammate!" Ash states. "Your latest mission is to locate and destroy a target." Pixal says and a hologram image of a man comes up. "This is Alexander Eadmen and he is your target. Eadmen is a highly trained enemy operative who is known for disguise. He was last seen in Ignitus Village. Go there, find him, and kill him. That is your job." The feminine voice explains and both boys nod. Kai goes into dragon form and Ash whips out a sky board. They both fly off and head for Ignitus.

When the boys reach the village Kai feels some nostalgia. "This is the village where me and Nya grew up." Kai states then runs for his family shop. "Four Weapons! It still looks the same!" Kai exclaims. "Now who's the childish one?" Ash asks with a quirked brow and a stifled giggle. "Oh shut up!" Kai retorts then composes himself. "It's time to work." Says the red ninja.

~At The Bounty~

Lloyd walks into Kai's room to fetch him for sunrise training and finds only a note. "What?" Lloyd asks the empty room. He grabs the letter and heads to the others, handing the letter over to Nya. "I found this on his bed, he's nowhere to be found again." Lloyd explains. Nya nods then reads the note aloud. "Dear Team, If you are reading this then I have gone out again. Sadly, I can't tell you where I'm going, it's a surprise I'm working on. Just know that I am perfectly OK and that I should be back before sundown. Sincerely, the best ninja, Kai Flamey." Nya reads then throws the note out. "I am going to kill him." She admits. "AGAIN?!" Jay calls. "This surprise of his better involve cake!" Cole says angrily then everyone looks at him. "What? That's the only way I'll forgive him for this!" Cole says in defense and everyone shakes their heads.

"Never mind Kai, we have training to do." Wu says and everyone groans. "Great, training!" Cole says sarcastically. "Come on uncle! Can't we take even one break day?" Lloyd whines. "Yeah, I have a date latter and I don't want to stink like the guys always do!" Nya complains. "My muscles are sore! My head aches! And I just want to lay down!" Jay complains. Wu shakes his head. "Tomorrow is your day off, today you train!" Wu says then walks off to get started.

"You know, I'm starting to get why Kai keeps taking off before morning..." Jay says and the others nod in agreement. "Oh, yeah." Cole says in agreement. "You beat me to it." Nya says. They all sigh in annoyance then follow Wu.

~With Kai~

Kai walks away from the village before transforming agin and taking flight. Ash catches up behind him. "That mission was fast." Ash says in a board voice. "Some are." Kai admits. "No one ever said this job was always fun man." Kai finishes. "I know, I just didn't expect that to be so quick and easy." Ash says. "Meh." Is Kai's only reply.

Once back at the HQ, the brothers hand in their reports then head over to Their room. Ash flops on the couch as the TV screen goes black and a red line shoots across. A voice then comes on and the red line moves to the voice. "You two have been rewarded for your good job and are aloud to wander the base as you see fit." Pixal's voice says. "Got it." The brothers say in unison.

Ash simply pulls up some video games as Kai watches, munching on some snacks. When Ash finishes he asks his brother if he'd play a round or two with him. Kai thinks for a bit before agreeing. They play a couple rounds before Kai thinks it a good time to leave. "Well, I've had enough of kicking your ass. Bye lil bro." Kai says as he stands up. "Even in video games your better then me! Can't I win even once?!" Ash whines, staring at the screen in awe. "Get better, then we'll revisit that subject." Kai says with a laugh. "Wait................................................." Ash says and Kai turns to look at him. "YOUR LEAVING?!" The younger male screeches in horror. "Yes, I am. I need to get back to my cover. I've been gone to long." Kai explains. "No fair! I want to spend time with you outside of goddamn work!" Ash complains.

Kai sighs. "You may be aloud to leave the room outside of missions, but you aren't aloud to leave the base outside of missions." The elder male explains. Ash huffs. "It's not fair!" He whines. Kai sighs. He has a feeling this could go on forever. He looks to his younger half brother and sniffles a giggle. Ash is standing tall and firm with his arms crossed, a scowl, and his cheeks puffed out so much they've turned red. Kai can't keep it in much longer and busts out laughing at his brothers stance. 

Pixal comes on the screen again. "You two are juvenile." She says, causing Kai to laugh harder and Ash to stomp his foot. Kai is rolling on the floor at this point. You'd never guess that Ash was a deadly assassin do to his current behavior. Kai was reminded of Lloyd when he was a little kid. Lloyd. Kai stops at the thought of the green ninja and just lays there, looking at the ceiling. Lloyd. Kai was madly in love him. Lloyd. The green ninja never left his mind. Lloyd. Kai imagined what I'd be like to kiss him. Lloyd. To hold him. Lloyd. To ravish him. Lloyd. To just plain call the younger male his. Lloyd. Kai wished it could be so. Lloyd. He'd shout his love off the roof tops if you let him. Lloyd. The blond haunted all of Kai's dreams. Lloyd.

"7 6 9? 7 6 9! 7 6 9?!" Ash's voice is heard as he snaps his brother out of the deep trance. "You OK there bro?" Ash asks. Kai nods as he stands. "Yeah, just..... Got lost in thought I guess." Kai says absentmindedly. Ash nods, a worried expression etched on his futures. "Your hormone levels shifted rapidly while you were 'lost in though'. You seem to experienced a raise in the hormones testosterone, adrenaline, dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and vasopressin." Pixal says. Kai's go wide and he starts to sweat. Ash thinks for a moment before realizing what Pixal was talking about. "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH?!" Ash asks with wide eyes. Cringes before hanging his head.

"Lloyd" Kai mumbles. "Who?" Ash asks, having not heard him. "Lloyd! The green ninja!" Kai shouts. Ash just stands there, eyes wide. "Your gay?" He asks. Kai just looks at him. "Bisexual actually." He says. "Bi-what now?" Ash asks, not understanding what Kai meant. Kai face palms and Pixal sighs. "A bisexual is someone who enjoys both male and female partners just as a heterosexual or someone who is 'straight' enjoys a partner of the opposite sex and a homosexual or 'gay/lesbian' enjoys a partner of the same sex." Pixal explains. Ash makes an 'oh' face.

"Now, if you'll excuse me. I need to go." Kai says before running out of the room.
