OVA: [What if...] New Years with Kaito
"You know... I really didn't mean to kiss him, right? It kinda just... happened."
You giggled, helping him haul the box full of fireworks into the trunk of the jeep. "I know, I know. This is like your twenty-seventh time saying that. I still ship it though~" You teased, racing into the car before he could respond. "What-"
You closed the door behind you, leaning towards the driver's seat. "Sooo, since when did you know how to drive?" (Y/N) asked Yui, staring as she confidently placed her hands on the steering wheel. "Since I was born! My driving skills will blow your mind, just watch me like you always do." Shot fire-- I mean. Ahem.
You decided to sit back and watch, as she said, until she turned around and spoke. "But are you sure you want to do this dare? I mean, it's kind of stupid." Yui said, rubbing the back of her head. "It's just for fun! If you don't want to do it, it's fine by me. Tsuki will have to find someone else though."
Yui shook her head, and waved her hands. "No, it's not that! I just thought you'd get jealous since another girl, my self specifically, is hanging with your boyfriend on New Years."
"Our whole class is doing it. I'd like the seniors to have some fun watching us before they leave. They'll have something to remember, you know?" You wrapped your arms around the head of the seat, gazing at Yui. "And if you do somehow make me jealous, I have Kaito, don't forget that."
After your little threat, you moved away with a smile on your face, humming a random melody. Kaito opened the door to your left, getting in. "What took you so long? I felt like I'd suffocate in this awkwardness." You said, crossing your arms.
"Ah, sorry. We were talking about something." He said, scooting into the car. He closed the door, gazing out the window. Tsukishima opened the door to the driver's seat, seeing a nervous blue haired female welcoming him. "What are you doing?" He asked blandly.
"What does it look like? I'm about to drive, get in idiot." She grinned, facing the rear view mirror. He couldn't believe his ears. His brown eyes shifted down to her feet, letting out a simple, "Pfft."
"What's so funny?" Yui pouted, glaring at the blonde. "Your feet can barely touch the floor. Now, get out." Yui gasped, puffing up her cheeks. "Just for that, I'm really not getting out. So there." Kaito chuckled, resting his elbow on the door's arm thingy.
Tsukishima shook head with a sigh. He had no choice. "Alright, I understand." Tsukishima moved in, sliding his left hand under her legs, and his other slithered up her back to get a hold on her.
He then lifted her up, bridal style, and walked around the car. Yui blushed, hitting his shoulder repetitively. "Ah! Put me down! I was going to get out!"
"No you weren't, shut up." He said coldly. A part of him was still gentle, since instead of tossing her into the passenger's seat, he placed her down with consideration. You clicked your tongue, glancing over at Kaito.
"What are you doing all the way over there? Why don't you slide over here~" You gestured with a smile. Kaito, feeling embarrassed, looked the other way, and shifted over towards you slowly. Pink tugged at the corner of his eyes as he did this, and nearly threw a fit when you held his arm.
Tsukishima saw this, and pushed up his glasses and he closed the door. Once again, he walked back around, sitting in the driver's seat. "I'm about to pull off, so if you left something, now's the time to remember and go get it."
"Kai, did you forget anything?" You asked, releasing him. "Nope, all good here. What about you? You're usually the forgetful one."
You shook your head, holding up your thumb. "I remembered to bring my bras this time!" It all went silent until Kaito turned away, cupping his mouth with his hand. "Pfft." Then, he'd break into laughter along with Yui.
"Alright, then, we're off." Said Tsukishima, exiting the parking lot.
The ride there was long, yet fun. Everyone seemed to have stories to tell, especially Yui. They weren't necessarily good ones.
"I'm so hungry..." You muttered, holding your stomach. Your best friend had a bag with him, full of who knows what. He dug into it to retrieve a snack, handing you a bag of melon bread. "Eat up and enjoy. I have water too if you want it."
You gasped, taking the bread almost in an instant. "Thank you so much! And you can keep the water, I'll be fine!" You smiled, tearing open the package. Kaito chuckled, placing the bottle next to you. "Then, have it just in case you get thirsty." He said, patting your head.
With a nod, you kindly accepted it, and bit into your bread. Tsukishima clicked his tongue quietly, and tossed Yui a can of orange juice. "Drink it, I don't want it." This caught Yui by surprise, though she still caught it. "Oh, thank you Tsuki."
"No problem." He said, nearing their destination. "Y'know, they'd make a cute couple. They're like... Childhood sweethearts~" She chimed, cupping her cheeks with her hands. Tsukishima seemed unbothered by her words. "Do I need to feed that to you to get you to shut up?"
Yui blushed, facing the other way. "You shut up! Jerk..." She mumbled. You and Kaito looked at each other, then looked forward, chuckling discretely.
Finally arriving, the boys in the group tackled the heavy boxes, and Yui and yourself headed for the water. "Whoa! Look Yui! The water is so pretty!" You shouted, removing your sandals. "Why are you acting like you've never been to a— Hold on, you aren't planning on going in are you?! You have on a dress!"
You slowly stepped inside the salty water, shivering. "Cold..." You whispered, taking another step to go even further. "Do you not hear me?! (Y/N), come back!" She shouted once more. "Who cares if I have on a dress. And it's not like I'm going that far anyway."
Tsukishima sat down the boxes next to the few who already arrived. They didn't hesitate to attack the box full of lighters and fireworks. "Huh? What is she doing now?" Asked Tsukishima, beginning to approach the two.
Kaito said with a smirk, "Who cares, looks fun! (Y/N), don't go too far! It's getting dark out here!"
You immediately got excited. The black haired male stopped to remove his shoes and shirt, tossing it on the sand without a care in the world. "They're idiots..." Tsukishima sighed with his hands on his hips, shaking his head.
Yui looked up at him, her ears twitching to his words. "Don't you like idiots, Tsuki?~ I mean, you are dating (Y/N), and she's pretty dumb. But then again, so are you." She stuck out her tongue catching his annoying expression, skipping away.
"Hey! Who are you calling an idiot?" He responded in a snappy tone, chasing the other. Meanwhile, you and your best friend was fooling around in the water.
"Where'd he go..." You murmured, looking around in the water. There was no sign of him, until you heard something arise from behind you. "Hey, (Y/N)... Guess what I found..." With an evil grin, he held the crab, a really red and feisty one.
You screamed, stepping back, hugging your arms. "G-Get that ugly thing away from me!" He tilted his head, facing the sea creature. "Ugly? It's not ugly, see!" Once again, he moved the crab towards your face, freaking you out even more.
"Stop, Kai! Seriously before I-" Something had brushed against your ankle.
(I personally friggen h8 going to beaches because I can't see what's underneath me. *Shivers*)
Kaito had thrown the crab away after gazing at your frightened face, dragging his feet through the water to get to you. "Alright, alright, I'm sorry. I won't do it again. Okay?"
You waited. You opened the thing that touched your ankle left, but you felt it again. In fear, you hopped on Kaito, sticking to him like glue. "Something's underneath me! In the water! Make it go away!" You cried.
Unfortunately for him, he had lost his balance. He tried to regain his footing, but he still failed to. The cold water gave him chills, and the impact made his back ache. "Ow..." He mumbled, opening his eyes.
However, yours were closed tightly. Kaito's lips curled into a small smile despite being soaked from head to toe, searching for the thing that had been bothering you under water.
"Hey, open your eyes." He gently said, and you did as you were told. He wore a teasing smirk as he held up the green leaf(?), waving it around. "Girls these days... It was only seaweed."
Embarrassed, you moved away, sitting on your legs. "Sorry. I though it was a sting ray or something..." You said with a blush, looking away. He pushed back his wet black locks of hair, shaking his head. "It's fine. As long as you feel safe, I'm happy."
Though the sun wasn't completely gone, fireworks had gone off, blowing up in the sky above you two. Your eyes sparkled, gazing up at the sky as you both stood up. The colors reflected off your shimmering orbs, making Kaito fall for you all over again.
"Oh look! The fireworks are in the water too! Look!" You pointed. Even though you told him to, he was still staring at you, smiling. "What? Stop looking at me and look at the fireworks!" You said with a huff.
Then, he grabbed your hand, reeling you in. "I can't." In front of everyone, Kaito had placed a kiss upon your lips. It was gentle, warm, and heart pounding; it felt like everything from a fairy tale.
The others gawked and oohed, already feeling obligated to get romantic with their other. Kaito pulled his pink lips away, letting you go. "Wh...What was that for?" You cooed, raising your hand to your mouth.
"That's the kiss I was supposed to give you last Christmas, when we were supposed to meet up to see Christmas lights." He began to walked away, stepping onto the sand. "But I bet Tsukishima's scarf was way better than that."
Your heart dropped. "Wait, how do you know about that? Did Tsuki tell you!" You asked, chasing after him. "Hold on... You weren't watching us were you?" He didn't answer any of your questions. He just continued to walk with a satisfied expression on his face.
"Who's that girl Tsukishima's with? He leaves us and gets a cute girlfriend? Wow, what a good friend."
"I mean, you really can't blame him. It's been a whole year since he left, Nishinoya." A green haired male said.
"Hey Kageyama, wanna get in the water? It looks really fun!" Said a short, cheerful boy.
"D-Did anyone just see that couple just now, they were k-kissing!" The small blond girl said.
"Whoever gets to the water second has to hold their breath underwater for two minutes." Another male spoke, but this one had a black hair color.
"I saw Yachi. It was really cute if you ask me." Said a feminine voice. She wore glasses with blue hair, and was really attractive.
"Uh, who are they? I've never seen them before..." You asked your best friend. He glanced at the group to see what you were talking about, and he just shrugged. "I have no idea."
"We aren't at the beach around this time to have fun! We're training! Kageyama, Hinata, come back!" Shouted a grumpy teenager.
Tsukishima recognized this voice and looked up to see familiar people. "Why... are they here?" He asked himself, leaving Yui to catch up with them. "Hey, guys-"
"Tsukishima approached us? This is weird! I thought you wanted nothing to do with us." The orange haired boy said.
You and Kaito also walked towards the group, wondering what kind of relationship he had with them. "Oh, right. This is—"
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
You lazily rolled over, and sat up, turning off your alarm. "Shut up... Stupid cat..." You muttered, throwing the alarm clock on the floor. "Oh, right..." You cooed, touching your lips. Your dream felt real, too real, and so you blushed after remembering your dream. "We... Kissed..."
Your phone began to vibrate on your dresser, so you walked towards it and picked it up. 'Who were those people? They looked interesting.'
"Hello?" You yawned into your phone, putting it on your ear.
"Get ready, we are going to the beach."
