Chapter Twenty-Five: Love me
"What do you mean, "What is this"? What is that?" Yui pointed out the ring on your finger, and so you pulled your hand back.
"It's a gift..." You answered quietly, but the tone in your voice quickly switched. "So what is this? A date?" You snapped, Tsukishima shook his head. "No, she dragged me out to play games she's bad at." He blandly stated, Yui denied it however.
"N-Not true! And even if this was a date, why would it matter to you? I mean, you were out with Kairi weren't you? He's probably the one who gave you that ring." She smirked, crossing her arms.
"Oh, let me guess. He proposed to you, didn't he? Gosh, I wonder what Kaito will think." Tsukishima seemed bothered by the conversation since he grunted as his brown eyes widened, but eventually he just turned away.
"Who's he?" Said a voice, next to the three of you. The male was wearing a gray hoodie with a bag in his hand, the other one was in his jeans' pocket.
He just left a convenience store, the automatic doors closed behind him.
"Kai... are you shopping alone?" You asked, and he nodded his head. "Yeah, my mom isn't very healthy to do things like this anymore. And Kairi couldn't help, he said he had to take care of something last night."
He approached you, leaning over to reach your eye level. "So, who's he? Don't get all shy because I'm here." Yui was even startled, but she began to run her mouth.
His blue eyes wandered to your hand, staring at the diamond on your finger. Kaito pulled his hand out his pocket and grabbed yours violently, holding it up. "What's this?"
"(Y/N) went on a trip with Kairi and I bet he gave her that ring also. I can't believe you made Tsuki wait for you that long last night, sheesh." She flicked back her long blue hair after speaking, crossing her arms.
"Tsuki... were you really waiting for me last night?" You asked, but the blonde didn't respond. He just stood there, his eyes still averted away. "Tsuki—"
"(Y/N)!" Kaito shouted, tugging your arm. He gathered your attention once again, your eyes met his. "Is Yui telling the truth?" His eyes were beaming with curiosity, it seemed like part of him didn't want to know the truth.
You pulled your hand away, shifting your gaze elsewhere. "It is true, he asked me to go on a date with him after you emptied my cup of tea on him the other day. And the ring is just a gift from him, he didn't propose to me..." Kaito dropped the plastic bag full of ingredients, placing his hands on your shoulders.
"(Y/N), please... stop seeing him. I'm begging you..." He lowered his head, his grip tightening. You blinked, in confusion, backing away. "Why are you being like this?" You huffed. "He doesn't love you as much as I do, (Y/N). He'll just ditch you after you start dating hi—"
Before he could finish, you cut him off. "If that's the case, I'll find out for myself. What if we actually like each other? You're just putting dumb ideas in your head." Tsukishima faced away from the scene, walking off. "Yui, let's go." The girl beside him quickly followed him without hesitation, with the obvious smirk on her face.
"You don't, you like Tsukishima."
"I don't."
"You do."
"You don't know me." That was a lie, he knew you better than anyone else. And Tsukishima sort of disappointed you for walking away with one of her friends. Your best friend stared at you dumbfounded, wishing he heard that incorrectly.
"Alright, fine then." Kaito no longer wanted to argue, it wasn't good for your friendship anyway. "I'll let you do what you want." He said, kneeling down to pick up the items that fell out of the bag back in.
'Someone has to snap him out of it... Guess this is the only way to do that...' You thought, watching him stand up. His black hair concealed his gorgeous blue eyes as he turned his back away from you. He had nothing to say, and neither did you.
Once he was a good distance away, you began to run your fingers through your healthy hair, frustrated. "Tsuki was there too! Gosh, (Y/N), why are you such an idiot! I'm sure he'll understand if I tell him the story though..." You said to yourself, heading back to Kairi.

Even though you couldn't see it, it was obvious Kairi was hitting on some girls near the receptionist's desk. They were blushing and fidgeting with their hair— maybe he was doing some kind of Morse code with his eyes.
One of the woman saw you standing their awkwardly near the glass door, adjusting the bag you had tossed around your shoulder. You fixed your posture, inching forward. "Kairi, can we talk for a sec?" You asked, the blonde turned around after hearing your voice. "Ooh, What's this~? My future wife is actually approaching me?" He grinned.
You choked, shaking your head. "No no, I'm not your future wife! Seriously though, we need to talk."
Kairi calmly obliged, and waved the females off. "So, what is it? Did you get into a fight with To-in?" He raised a brow. It didn't surprise you that he was right. "Yep... He still thinks you're a bad person, I have to prove him wrong."
"Oh? Why go through so much trouble to help me? We're not that close after all." He responded, picking up his cup of warm coffee from off the weirdly angled desk. "You're his brother, he shouldn't think of you that way."
"Then, how are you going to help? What's your plan?" You crossed your arms, looking away with a blush, thinking of a way to put it. "Well from now on we'll be dating. Just without the kissing and hugging— or touching for that matter." You strictly stated, Kairi nodded his head. "Alright, got it."

"Are you really that upset from earlier? (Y/N) isn't even good for you. If anything, she's way out your league." Tsukishima sat down on the edge of the fountain, pushing up his glasses. "Why does it matter? Do you think you're in my league?" Yui grew quiet as he glanced at his feet, trying to find the right words to say.
"Exactly." After that, it was awkward, and Yui bit down on her bottom lip. Then, she attacked him, forcing herself onto him.
With all her weight shifted onto him, Tsukishima fell back into the cold water flowing beneath him, shocked. The girl's arms were wrapped around him tightly, trapping him under her.
"Why does everyone prefer her instead of me?..." She cooed, her lip quivering in both sadness and frustration. Her vocals shook a bit, indicating she was about to cry.
"I actually like you Tsuki, but it's obvious you like (Y/N) instead. Still, please... love me..."
