Chapter Ten: Volleyball

After Tsukishima kindly accepted the tickets with a nod, you couldn't help but feel jealousy and regret. Yui was rather pretty; she has nice long blue hair along with aqua blue eyes, and her style was cute too. She always have different accessories in her hair, tying it up occasionally as well. Also, she always came to school with a while hoodie wrapped around her waist over her uniform skirt.

After each and every day passed, you grew more anxious and curious. Kaito noticed this, resting his cheek on his palm as he stared at your back. The both of you were deep in thought, not even paying Kairi any attention.

Kairi began to walk towards you, still reading the poetry pasted in the leather book. The spine of the book was gently tapped on your head, bringing you back to the real world. That— along with squealing girls.

"Miss (L/N), please pay attention. English can be a difficult subject sometimes." You twitched a brow before bowing your head, flipping to the pages he indicated with his fingers.

'215... We're that far ahead already?' You thought, hearing groans behind you.

"Alright alright you ugly shit! I'll pay attention next time!" Kaito shouted, his insult pissing Kairi off even more. "Ugly? I think you're forgetting who's the model..." He whispered, the hand that was gripping the top of his head tightened even more.

You giggled after turning around seeing what was going on, but a certain someone caught your eye. Your lips that were once parted made contact with each other, lowering your head.

Damn that blonde with glasses.

Kairi and Kaito stared at you for a quick moment, before the teacher released his head and continued to read out loud. You turned to face the front, looking down at the phone that was on your desk.

'This is stupid.' You thought, tossing your phone under your book, focusing on Kairi and his reading. The bell finally rung, dismissing everyone.

"Something wrong? You look kinda out of it today (Y/N)." Kaito said, throwing his satchel over his shoulder, Kairi jumping in soon afterwards.

"Yeah it's not like you to—" Kaito raised his foot to his older brother, his dirty shoe ending up on his stomach. "Shut up and go away teach! This is none of your business!"

Kairi reached his hands out playfully, his lips puckered. "I just wanted to check on my future wife~" He teased, Kaito continuing to force his body away.

You knew Kairi's intentions, he was just trying to make you feel better despite not knowing what was going on. His brother, on the other hand, just wanted to help.

To be polite, you let out a chuckle, your lips tugging into a kind smile. "I'm fine! Just the lack of sleep catching up." You said, standing up while packing up your things.

The both of them look relieved, finally able to pull themselves together. "So this Sunday, I was wondering if you were free to go somewhere." Kaito rubbed the back of his head nervously, holding up two tickets. This was rather sudden, it startled you.

"Uh, yes why do you ask?" You said, closing your bag once you were done putting your things away. Kairi Crosses his arms whirl raising a brow, listening in on your conversation.

"Well I was wondering if... you wanted to go to a beach resort. A friend won some tickets and he had no one to go with, so he gave them to me. I don't want to let them go to waste so..."

Kaito was cute when he was embarrassed and blushing, which was the only reason why you accepted his offer.

"Ya sure, I'll go. But only on one condition." You said, raising your index finger. "If we see someone from our school you'll have to convince them to join us so we all can have fun together." You smiled, Kaito agreeing to this.

The only person you wanted to go with on this date was Tsukishima, you had to keep watch of him somehow. There's no doubt you'll be jealous the whole time he hung out with Yui, but it's better than nothing.

"Alright, I'll buy me a ticket too so I can join the both of you." Kairi randomly butted in, a huge smile plastered on his face. He then pulled out his phone and began to search up the place, already buying another ticket just in case.

"This is for children, not for old ugly hags like you." Kaito grunted, looking away. It angered him to the point he twitched a brow, grabbing his brother by the collar.

You stood there watched the whole feud go down before dismissing yourself. "See you two Sunday then, bye!" You waved, making your way to the classroom door. Soon, you faded into the rowdy hallway, leaving them both behind.

Kei Tsukishima: Hey, I'm here. Text me when you arrive.

His text made your heart race, but it pained you also. He wasn't going to be your date, Yui was.

Though you made it quite early yourself, waiting for Kaito and his brother. You were sure Tsukishima couldn't see you, standing a good distance behind him.

"Tsukishima!" Said a feminine voice that grabbed your attention along with his. "Yes?" He answered, staring down at the shorter female. Her blue hair really complimented her yellow one piece, exposing her cleavage and back. Her hair was tied up into two cute ponytails, you couldn't beat her natural cuteness.

Meanwhile you on the other hand, wore a two piece, a white one with truffles on it. But being the person that you are, you threw a spare of Kaito's trunks over them since you disliked showing skin.

"(Y/N) couldn't make it so she sent me here to replace her, sorry to disappoint you..." She said as she scratched her cheek, awaiting for his response.

He raised a brow. "Is that so? I guess I'll be going then." Tsukishima casually stated, feeling a tug on his arm. "Wait, no! Don't go!" Yui begged, holding onto his arm.

This irritated you.

"Why not? I didn't come here to hang out with (Y/N)'s substitute. I don't even know you." Your heart fluttered, his words made you want to bounce around his happiness.

"But still... You came all this way not to have fun? I don't think either of us wants to go home without doing a few things, so why don't we just hang?~" She smiled, watching as he sighed.

He pulled his arm back, rubbing the back of his head. "Fine... If I don't like it here I'm hearing back home." Yui's eyes glowed with excitement, able to get him to stay. "Yay! I promise you'll enjoy your time with me!~" That ego of hers would surely dig her own grave.

Hopefully.

Watching the two walk off towards the water surrounded by chairs and tables, you crossed your arms tapping your foot impatiently.

"Where are the—" Oh, there they are. Their back hunched over with their hands on their knees, panting from how much they ran. It must've been competition.

"Sorry..." Kaito started, his older brother finishing. "We're late..."

"Better be. But you two should get something to drink real quick before we get into the water." You advised, beginning to walk towards the small bar hoping they'd follow. That they did.

"I'm feeling kind today, so I'll pay." You added, feeling an arm placed on your shoulders, wrapped around your neck.

"That's very kind of you, love. Why don't I pay you back with a kiss~?" Kairi teased, leaning in. It made you blush slightly, but you turned your head, pushing him away.

"No thanks, I'll pass..." You mumbled, arriving at your destination. "You good? You seem all snappy today." Kaito said, ordering water.

"What, really? I feel the same as usual..." You responded, touching your cheek. He then flicked your nose, looking straight ahead. "Sometimes what you think is normal is the exact opposite."

"Ooh, there's some cute ladies over there, I'm going to go flirt some. I'll be back~" Kairi winked, walking off towards the two beautiful woman. You weren't surprised.

"Oh shush, you're—" His next words made you pause, turning around to glance at who he was talking about. "Oi, look over there. It's Tsukishima and Yui." He pointed out, gulping down his water.

It was obvious he didn't want to invite them in the group, but it was a promise he made with you.

"Let's go." He said, grabbing your hand to drag you along. You stumbled out your seat, every step you took made your heart pound even faster.

What were you supposed to say? He'd probably think you ditched him to hang with Kaito.

"Wha— Wait— I'm not ready!" You shouted, trying to pull him the other way. "Well get ready."

Once they came to a stop behind the two, Kaito cleared his throat to pronounce his presence. "Hey," He said, the both of them turn around.

"Me and (Y/N) here was wondering if you two wanted to play some Volleyball." Yui's eyes twitched in irritation, gritting her teeth as well.

"Oh, sorry, me and Tsuki here were just about to get on a slide, weren't we~?" Yui looked up at Tsukishima as she said this, nuzzling herself on his arm.

"I thought you couldn't show up, why are you here?" He asked, staring down at your hand that was locked together with Kaito's.

Once you noticed this, you quickly pulled your hand away, rubbing the back of your head. "Oh, uh, see..."

"Hold on, you already made plans with this guy?" Your best friend asked, Kairi following up after. "Why are you crowding this cute little lady instead of having fun?" There he goes with that smile and unnecessary compliments.

He then began to push the group towards the water, most unsatisfied since they didn't get answers.

"Time for some Volleyball!"
