Chapter Six: Thank god.

"It'll be alright, something probably came up... no need to get all sad about it."

Tsukishima was able to comfort you after crying for minutes straight. You jumped in his arms, turning around to bright lights. The Christmas tree, reindeers, and presents lit up as they played a couple Christmas jingles.

Your hand moved up to your eyes, wiping your tears away. "It's... really pretty. I'm glad I came here..." You sniffled, Tsukishima pulling his arms away. After that, you began to shiver, blowing into your gloves. That made him raise a brow, soon speaking. "Hey, I got something for you."

He dug into the bag you never questione, the beige color catching your eye. 'Is that...'

"Don't think this is a present or anything... You just seemed cold, so I'm giving it to you. My brother just bought me a new one, so don't give it back." He gently wrapped the scarf around your neck which laid on your shoulders, a somewhat satisfied expression on his face.

"Oh, um, thank you I guess." You said with a giggle. It was obviously a Christmas present, I guess that was his way of saying it.

As for Kaito, he watched the whole scene unfold. He left a couple seconds after you received the scarf, it was too much to watch. In his pocket was a cute little hair clip, covered by his hand.

"I appreciate this a lot," You started, pulling the scarf up over your mouth with a blush. It smelt good— It smelt like him. "Thank you again, Tsuki."

His eyes wandered off you then went for the blinking colorful lights, nodding his head. But eventually that heart pounding moment ended, and Tsukishima walked you home. It was quiet, but a good or— cute quiet.

"Night..." You spoke over the barking dog in your neighbor's yard, walking inside your house. His headphones were already over his ears, but he sent you a wave before you closed the door.

"Looks like no one's home... Mom might be at her boyfriend's house still..." You whispered, removing your shoes with a long sigh.

Sunday you spent all day locked up in your room, staring at your phone for straight hours. Kaito never tried to contact you through your phone, and never showed up to your place. Yes that bothered you, but Tsukishima's warm embrace was the thing really on your mind.

Your mom returned home around sunset, you didn't bother to ask where she was, or what happened. But as usual, you preformed your morning routine the following day, leaving your home.

Opening the door, you saw no one behind it, which made you feel somewhat lonely. He wasn't there to pick on you or listen to your horrible jokes... maybe it was a one-time thing. Surely he'd walk with you to school starting tomorrow, right?

Shaking your head, you began your walk to school, clenching onto the strap to your satchel. 'He's the one who didn't show up. He's the one who broke our promise. You don't need to see him, (Y/N)' You thought, eventually making it to the front gate.

You were the talk of school, but not necessarily in a good way. The people who were overly nice towards you was now your enemy. The ones you called friends were out to get you.

"Oh look who it is, the bitch of whole school." Said one girl, her friends chuckling behind her. But you had no time to respond, much less look at them. Going on with your day, you changed your shoes at the lockers, heading to class.

You never realized it up until now that Kaito was really the only person you hung around, your one true friend. No one bothered you when he was around, maybe he knew how much hatred you people had for you, but kept it under wraps.

"Hey, (Y/N)..." Said a familiar voice, turning your head. Once you recognized his face, you began to walk away without hesitation.

You've been like this all day, Kaito continuously tried to get your attention. You wanted to see him, but you didn't. You felt funny inside. This went on up until lunch, when you finally stayed to listen to what he had to say. Well, more like forced.

"The rooftop is definitely better~" You started to open the lid to your bento box, sitting on the bench. Before you could start eating, you heard the rooftop's door close, someone standing near it.

'Odd, I thought no one ate lunch up—'

"(Y/N)." He spoke walking towards you, which is why you instantly shot up, closing your bento box. "I gotta go." You responded, speed walking past the male. Before you could get far, he reached for your hand, tightening his grip.

"Sorry, for not being able to make it to the party, something came up with my family. I couldn't just ditch them, you have to understand." Kaito spoke.

"Little things matter to me. I don't mean to sound selfish but I don't care about your family, I wanted you to be there. We made a promise, I don't like liars." You eyes were covered with a dark tint, pulling back your hand.

"Tsuki was there to comfort me." He gritted his teeth after your third sentence, Kaito once again grabbed your hand before you could reach for the door, pushing you back against the cold wall.

"I wanted to be there, you have to believe me (Y/N). Please just stop avoiding me, I seriously don't like it."

Your gaze was still averted away, Kaito still desperately tried to gather all of the attention you possibly had. Little did you two know a certain blonde was leaned against the wall near the staircase inside the building, his arms crossed as he listened in on the two of you.

Kaito must have spotted the scarf around your neck, which made him loosen his grip, letting go of you. "I'm sorry, I won't do it again. Can you give me another chance?" He asked, you walking away.

"Sure, but you have to take me out somewhere. Then I'll forgive you." You stated, opening the rooftop's door. "This weekend, 12:00 pm. Don't be late."

Tsukishima moved once he heard the door open, walking back down the stairs in a hurry. As you said this, your lips tugged into smile, sort of excited. Kaito was relieved that you forgave him, which is why he sighed after you left.

"Thank god."
