Chapter One: Enigmatic
The brown bench laid under you, the wood ultimately being uncomfortable. Despite that, the rays tickling your skin along with the male's warm hand cupping your cheek made it worth it.
The stranger's warm, pink lips were gently pressed against yours, your eyes widened as your translucent tears trickled down your cheek.
His black glasses teased at the arch of your nose, captivated by his looks. His eyes then began to open, pulling away from your soft lips.
"Wh- What.. was that for?" You stuttered, wiping your eyes full of tears with the sleeve to your maroon hoodie.
"Well, I figured since you walked out with only shorts and a hoodie," He began to swathe his beige scarf around your neck to ensure some warmth, continuing with his sentence. "Some body contact would do the trick."
His golden-brown eyes were incoherent, the tall male standing up from the bench while digging his cold hands into his pockets begging for warmth. It was noticeably easily to tell he knew she was feeling.. Disconsolate.
"You didn't have to give me this.. I'm okay. My house isn't too far from here anyway." You spoke, standing up on your shivering feet. "It's fine, I'm not cold." His eyes stared vacantly at the concrete ahead, a breeze of cold wind brushing past his clothing. "See you."
You stared at the male's back as he walked off, astonished by him. You've never seen something- no, had something so mortifying happen to you so casually. Your cheeks began to paint a bright red, tugging on the scarf to pull it over your mouth and nose.
"Sayonara.."

The next morning, you sat in your first period, daydreaming about last night. Your heart slowly began to pound, feeling as if it'd jump out your chest soon. "URRGGGHH!" Standing up, you began to vigorously ruffle your delicate locks of hair in both frustration and embarrassment, while your cheeks glowed a rosy pink.
Kaito sat up surprised, obviously waking up from a deep nap. "What the hell.." He muttered. His calming, dark grey eyes brightly shimmering between his black locks of hair. "What got you so excited today..?" He snorted, rubbing his left eye.
Kaito just turned seventeen, and he is your best friend and a Second-year like you. He's very attractive and has a thing for sports, basketball in particular. Kaito often brags about his height, being at 5'10", and picks on you often for being a shorty. He's also kind of weird though.. Walking around with white and brown spotted cat with a black mask on. Without the mask, females fond over his overly-charming smile. You hate to admit it, but it is cute.
"U-Um— Never mind, you won't understand." Sitting back down in yet another uncomfortable seat, you crossed your arms looking out the window, just dying to spill the tea.
Just before Kaito could let out another breath, the teacher pranced into the classroom and tossed a stack of organized white papers with varieties of fonts permanently glued to them onto the podium.
"Hey kiddos~" He started, gently placing both of his hands on the podium, giving the same smug expression. "Usually I'd tell you all to self-study like any other day, but we have a new transfer student. This is your cue, Four-eyes."
Your senses tingled. Four-eyes..
A tall male with grey Sony headphones walked inside, pushing up his glasses in hope to fix them. "Please refrain from calling me that, Sensei." His deep, but soft monotone voice echoed throughout the classroom, with heavy footsteps gradually making it's way to the front.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Tsukishima Kei, transferring from Karasuno High located in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture." He bowed. It wasn't long until he sat up again, standing there awkwardly as the teacher eyed a seat in the back. Unfortunately, Mr. Okizawa was planning on seating him in the far back, five seats horizontally away from you.
"Wait.. He's one of the star blockers from Karasuno's High school Volleyball team! I used to watch him play until they got beaten by Oikawa's team." One of the students said, the others mumbling after him.
"What? Why is he here? Aren't they preparing for another tournament?" Said another, hearing a female piggy back off of him.
"Oh, he does look kind of familiar! And cute too.."
"Alright, alright, that's enough. You all can talk about it after I get introductions out the way. Four-eyes, sit that empty seat in the back." Tsukishima nodded and obeyed the teacher's orders.
Your heart began to pound, placing your two fingers on your bottom lip. You could feel the warmness emitting from his body at that very moment, reminiscing about the kiss. Kaito's eyes were focused on your back, watching your, cute, reactions. Though, he knows something's up.
"A transfer student in December..." Kaito started, muttering just before he tossed his arms to the back of his head. "And what's with all the muttering I'm hearing..."
Why? Why was he there? Why IS he there? Sitting in the back with an open book, reading independently. He exchanged eye contact with you for just one second before sitting, Kaito leaning up near your ear to whisper.
"Who knew a girl could get so horny for a tall, lanky guy that doesn't even look like her type." He teased, your ears burning a bright red. H-How'd he know? Is it really that obvious? And horny? You'd rather use a different word...
You wanted to turn around and tell him different, but you were interrupted by gossiping fangirls all over the room.
"I know looks matter and all..." You started, fidgeting with your fingers while looking down with a blush. "But there's more than that to him. He's.. interesting. He's... a fog. He's... Really
Enigmatic."
Kaito glanced at the new boy then back at you, holding an unidentifiable expression.

Each and every period you'd blush and squirm, wondering if he recognized you. You thought you felt him staring at you, but in reality he'd just glance up at the teacher a few times as if he was actually paying attention. Tsukishima was still engulfed in the same old book, adjusting his glasses. But soon enough, classes ended.
"How does my backside look Senpai?~" Kaito randomly spoken, trying to imitate the voice of a female while throwing his satchel over his shoulder. He even stuck out his tongue playfully with a wink, it bothered you. You twitched a brow in annoyance, his commentary bringing you back to reality.
"S-Shut up.." You muttered, failing to find a comeback. Kaito let out chuckle before heading out the classroom, pulling on his black mask. "I have practice so you'll have to walk home alone today, game on Wednesday."
"Alright, have fun." You needed someone to talk to about Kei, but now that Kaito's gone to practice, there was no one. Yes you are well known, but never make a friend out of a hello and goodbye conversation. "See you (f/n)-chan." He waved.
You dragged your feet out the gate, passing by the front gate feeling a bit voracious. 'I could go for some food right about now..' You thought, your eyes lighting up from the sight of a certain someone. Blonde hair.. Golden-brown eyes.. Tall, slim build...
"U-Um! Excuse me!" You shouted, feeling your heart sink to an unbelievable level. Holy shit, you really just did that. Tsukishima turned around seemingly disappointed his eyes and his book departed. He didn't speak, he just awkwardly stood there waiting for you to continue.
"D-Do.. you remember me?" You asked, clinging onto his beige scarf wrapped around your neck for warmth. The blond's eyes averted down to the scarf then back up into your eyes, you expecting an answer. Instead, he turned back into his book and continued his walk, letting out four words.
"No, I don't, sorry."
