Chapter Nine: Can you swim?
"I'm not letting you go." Kairi stated as you turned around slowly to reason with him. "Uhm, I mean, I'm not going far so you don't have to worry..."
You continued to try and pull open the door, his cold gaze piercing through your soul. "You're going to To-in, I don't like that. I'm much more handsome and wealthy, aren't I better?" He asked, inching in closer after each and every second that passed by.
"Bullshit!" He said loudly, a glint of anger in his eyes. You were confused as to why he was so snappy, you didn't even say anything rude yet. He slipped his hand under your chin, leaning in closer with a faint shade of pink on his cheeks.
"I just met you... Why is it that my heart pounds more than it should? I don't feel this way towards girls I act with and model with, I think I..."
A sudden force pushed against your back, someone on the other end trying to force it open. It startled the both of you.
"Give me a minute, I'm speaking with a student!" Kairi shouted out to the person on the other side of the door who was still attempting to force themselves in. "Guess I'll just invite myself in." He muttered, shoving the door open.
You stumbled towards Kairi, gazing at Tsukishima as he pushed up his glasses. He then bowed, taking your hand afterwards. "I need her for school festival we're holding, goodbye."
You both knew that wasn't the reason why he was there, but you couldn't help but smile at how obvious he was. "Oh, alright, I was just having a chat with one a student I've decided to be class rep. You are Kei Tsukishima correct?" Kairi asked, crossing his arms, watching Tsukishima stop after hearing his name.
"Yeah, I'm also one of your students. Also in your home room. Hope we get along." He said sarcastically, dragging you off down the hallway. Kairi clicked his teeth, walking to his chair after both of you left.
"Shit."
"A lot of people has been grabbing me by my hand recently, I have a wrist ya know..." You told him as he walked you around a couple corners, and eventually, up to the roof.
"I don't like touching you in general," He started, adjusting his glasses on the arch on his nose as your brow twitched in annoyance.
"But don't see that teacher ever again, I get bad vibes from him."
"I'm sure he was just fooling around, he's not like that Tsuki. If he does it again then I promise I won't have anything to do with him, but he's Kai's brother. Both of them are too cowardly to do anything to a girl like me." You said as you crossed your arms stubbornly, the blonde clicking his teeth.
"Alright, fine." Tsukishima flipped out his phone, scrolling to his contacts. "Give me your number and up give you mine." He stated, holding out his phone for you to take.
You did the same, embarrassed he actually asked for your phone number. After handing him your cellphone, you tapped away on his phone, adding in your phone number.
"There, here ya go!" You smiled handing him back the phone, he returned yours as well. "What's with these emojis?" He asked in a tone of disgust, staring at you as you giggled.
"Don't change it! I won't change yours if you don't change mine!" You said, the male sighing as he put his phone away. "Whatever, I could careless. Just tcxt me whenever something's going on. If I don't answer, then call me."
He pulled his headphones over his head, beginning his walk out off the rooftop. "Because sometimes I'm too lazy to move my fingers. Talking is better."
'Wow, what a lazy guy.' You thought, nodding as he turned away. "See you later, thank you for the number!" He was already immersed into his music, walking down the staircase. It was no surprise though, you were too used to it by now.
You felt your phone vibrate in your hand, the notification instantly turning on your phone. "Might be Kai... Finally..." You whispered, gazing at the message that was sent.
Your heart then stopped for a few seconds before overflowing with happiness, throwing your arms in the air to celebrate. "It's a date and I know it!~ What should I wear?" You began to mumbled to yourself and head down the stairs as well, placing a hand under your chin.
"I wonder where he's planning on taking me..." Once you hit the last step, you suddenly lost your balance, and the reason why is obvious.
You were tripped.
'Ack! No, not my beautiful face!' You were prepared for impact— thankfully.
Rubbing the back of your head as you sat up, you looked up at the three girls standing before you; one twirling their nice brown hair, the other one texting away on her phone making bubbles out of her pink candy, and lastly— the one with her arms crossed with a not-so-pleasant expression.
"Aha, I'm going to assume that was an accident?" You said, shifting your weight back on your feet, brushing off your uniform.
"It wasn't. Now listen up bitch," She started, your eye lids already blinking repetitively. 'Bitch? I'm a female dog?' You asked yourself, watching as she inched closer.
"I heard everything that went on in the classroom with you and Mr. Ikezawa. So if you don't want him to lose his job," She placed a foot near your waist once you backed yourself into the wall, pinning you down with her arms crossed.
"Then I'd suggest you listen carefully and do everything I say. Got it?" She cheekily grinned, watching as you scoffed.
"Where's your proof? And nothing went on with him and I in the classroom, so lay off." You croaked, the female smirking, nodding her head at one of her minions. Your right ear twitched at the sound of a familiar conversation... One which you had with Kairi.
"Wha— You were really eavesdropping?!" You then reached out for the phone in the girl's hand, but you pulled it away, turning it off.
"Ah ah ah," She chimed. "You don't want that flying around school do you? I advise you think wisely before you do or say anything."
Who is this girl? And what does she want? Whew boy, you had sooo many questions.
You bit down on your lip before parting them, crossing your arms as you did so. 'Kairi...' You thought, starting with your question. "Fine, what do you want me to do?"
She removed her leg from near your body, holding out her hand. It looked like she was relieved you gave in to her dirty little trick. "Give me your phone, and unlock it also." She demanded.
You clutched it tightly in your hand, before raising it up near your eyes, unlocking it. You could barely even give it to her since she snatched it away, her lips tugging into a grin.
"Bingo.~"
"What do you want with my phone? Why do-" The redhead held up two tickets, shoving them against your chest. "You are going to invite Tsukishima to that indoor beach resort on the tickets, but be sure to meet up with him first to give him the tickets. Tell him you're too klutzy to keep them, and he'll have no choice to take them. Sunday, you won't show up. Instead I'll be there to enjoy my date with him,"
She tossed you your phone before waving, walking off. "Understood?" She giggled. "Oh! Did I ever tell you my name? It's Yui Masaie."
You stood there silently, staring at the tickets she gave to you. 'This... is for their sake right? It's not like Tsukishima will actually fall for a girl like that— right?...'
You shoved the colorful tickets in your bag, scrolling to his contact, shooting him a message. As you did this, anxiety rushing through your body along with selfishness, but you had to shake it off.
Kei Tsukishima: Hey, you free Sunday? Let's do something together.
You: Totally free! I know somewhere we can go. Can you swim?
