Chapter Eight: I'm not letting you go.
"Involved? Why on earth would I get involved with your older brother?" You asked, shoving the flowers onto Kairi's chest.
You felt Kairi's eyes wander onto your body, a bit creeped out. "Anyway, I should probably get going, see you at school Kai-" That fluffy touch again... Except you felt fluffiness all over. "Uhm..."
"Little brother, why didn't you tell Kairi your childhood friend is this cute? I think I'd like to have her to myself~" His hand took your wrist, his other arm wrapped against you waist, pulling you in close. This position was awkward, and made you blush, along with his compliment.
"No." Kaito responded, grabbing your other hand, breaking the connection you two were feeling. "You take everything I have, I'm not letting you have her." Kairi smirked, pulling himself out of the costume he was wearing, placing down the sign along with the flowers.
"Well all I did was try to help my little bro with his friend! Mom told me what was going on so I flew down here to help! (Y/N) wouldn't have found out it wasn't me if you never interrupted, so It's your fault." His brother was rather charming, guess that's where he picked up his flirting. "Though it's cute seeing you actually protecting someone, It's a little romantic." Kairi added, crossing his arms.
"I know that's not the real reason why you're down here, I thought you were in America acting in some movie." Kaito harshly spoke, his grip on you tightening slightly. You couldn't say anything since this was between the two of them, but still, you felt like you had to.
"Oh, yes right! I'm going to be a teacher at your school, how does that sound? Exciting right? I get to hang out with my lil bro more!" The smile on his face was super bright, it was kinda cute. It seemed like he genuinely cared about Kaito as well.
"Tch, (Y/N), let's go. We don't need to hear anymore of his bullshit and lies." Kaito then began to drag you off, headed to the parks exit gates, turning around to see Kairi instantly getting bombarded by females. "Guess he's pretty popular..." You muttered, staring at the serious expression on his face.
Tsukishima was leaned near the wall next to the gate watching you two exit, pulling on his headphones. Guess he felt the need to leave after seeing you safe with Kaito.
"So... How old is your brother?" You asked, Kaito staying quiet for a while before parting his lips. "He just turned twenty. I'm surprised the school even let him apply. It must have something to do about his popularity." He responded, lowering your head.
"Oh, I guess he looks his age... And what did you mean earlier? When you said he takes everything you have? Also, what's with the negativity you throw at him? If you ask me, he seems like a pretty good guy and—"
Kaito stopped, turning around to face you, placing his hands on your shoulders. "He's not. Don't trust a word he tells you, alright? If he tries to speak to you at school, ignore him. He's a creepy bastard, so please listen to me. Seriously, I'm trying to help you." You slipped away his hands, letting out a scoff.
"Kai, I don't know why you hate so much but whether to believe anything he tells me and ignore him is my decision. I will decide what's best for me, okay?" You were stubborn when things like this came up, no one, not even Kaito could convince you to listen.
"Tch, Fine, whatever. Just don't craw coming to me when you get all bothered." With those words, he slowly turned on his heel, walking off with an disappointed expression.
"What's with that guy..." You murmured, taking another route to your home. The sun just started to set, clinging onto the warmth your scarf bared.
"Where's Kaito? Thought he was walking you home." The blonde said, breaking your gaze onto the concrete. "Oh— Tsuki... Hey. I think it's best to leave him be at the moment, we'll talk Monday." You responded, Tsukishima nodding his head.
"He probably got tired of hanging with an annoying girl like you." He teased, that smug grin on his face. You punched his arm, crossing yours. "Don't day that! I'm going to get all paranoid..."
He rubbed his arm, staring down at you from the side. "Then I might be right." He then suddenly stopped, turning around to point at the male following you two. "So, who's this? They're presence is annoying me." Tsukishima bluntly stated, stopping to see who it was.
"Wha? Kair— I mean Mr. Ikezawa? Why are you following us? Your house is in the other direction..." You pointed, watching as he nervously rubbed the back of his head. "Oh, really? Thought I could follow you 'til you made it home... Since you live near our house and all."
You shook your head with a sigh, glancing back at Tsukishima. There goes the little time you two could spend together. "Sorry Tsuki... I have to go now, he's obviously lost and needs someone to walk him home." You said with a bow, seeing him wave his hand. "Nah, it's cool. See you at school."
You turned back to Kairi after Tsukishima started walking away, shaking your head. "How is your little brother more responsible than you?" You asked, beginning to walk past the male.
"I'm pretty sure I'm more responsible than To-in. (Toe-een btw. >wO)" Kairi said with a little confidence. You tilted your head in confusion, wondering why he called him that.
"Toin? What's with the nickname?" You asked, Kairi flashing that charming smile at you. "Well you can't call both of us Kai now can you? Plus it's just a nickname I gave him for fun. He still calls my Kairi though."
"Oh, it's a cute nickname... I don't have any siblings so—" Before you could finish, the male placed the bottom of his fist on his palm. "(N/N)-in. Is that better?"
"No." You harshly said, closing yours eyes stubbornly along with it. He smiled awkwardly, scratching his cheek. "Ah... Alright then, I'll stick with calling you (Y/N)."
"Good." Nearing his home, you stopped to stare at him. "What did Kaito mean earlier? That you take everything away from him? Was he exaggerating or something?" You asked, watching that sweet smile fade away.
"...Oh, that? Pfft, yeah it was an exaggeration. As a child though, I used to take his toys, candy, friends and even his girlfriend. But that was only because she didn't like him, so I made it seem like a seduced her into a relationship with me so he wouldn't get hurt. He hated me ever since though, still, I'm not planning on telling him the truth."
You shook your head once again, face palming. "I mean... That was pretty nice of you, but in the end you stole his girlfriend. You should probably tell him what really happened, Kairi."
"Yeah, I will. Thanks for showing me the way, (Y/N). I owe you one." His wink flustered you, leaving a blush on your face. "Y-You're welcome. Good night!" You waved, walking off to your house next door.
Kairi smiled waved, licking his bottom lip once you left. This guy is just full of surprises.
No one was home to wake you up today, which is why you was running a tad late. It's the obvious day, Monday, the thought of school with a model slightly worried you.
Tossing on your uniform, you glanced around the streets, no sign of Kaito or Tsukishima. "Good morning, (Y/N)! Hope you slept well." He said with a smile, that voice sending a chill down your spine. Hearing a soothing voice like that in the morning weirded you out.
"Er, morning... Where's Kai?" You asked, walking down your steps, shutting the gate after you. "He went ahead since he has some stuff to take care of with his coach about basketball, so he told me to walk you there."
"Aha... Right, okay then." He began to head for school, his hand tucked in the pocket of his suit. 'Gosh, he looks really good... I guess it's expected since he is a model after all...' You thought, looking at the street ahead. You didn't say a word, and neither did he, so you both just walked in complete silence.
"Oh my god is that who I think it is?!"
"It's Kairi's older brother!"
"Can I get your autograph!"
'This isn't uncomfortable at all..." You muttered, some of the students giving you glares. Though most of them were awing in amazement. Kairi tried his best to push through the crowd, grabbing your hand so he wouldn't forget you also. His touch made you blush, it was so similar to Kaito's...
Once he made it in his new classroom, he let go, tugging on his tie. "I'm sorry I had to put you through that, maybe walking home with me wasn't a good idea..." He chuckled, setting down his bag. "Obviously. I have no idea why I didn't stop you either." You said, dusting off your uniform.
"Maybe you're finally interested in me?" He nudged playfully, sighing at how cocky he was.
"Well I'm going to get going now, I want to see someone." You headed for the door, placing your hand upon the handle. Cracking the door open, a hand forcefully closed it back, slightly frightened by his sudden actions.
"It's not To-in is it? I told you he's busy." He spoke in a dark tone, hesitantly speaking. "No it's not, it's someone else..." You responded, biting down on your lip. You needed to get out of this situation ASAP.
"I'm not letting you go."
