Alice's pov

"Okay.. So I'm gonna go now. I'm having a stupid class. " grumbled Dakota.

I chuckled at her behavior. I couldn't even imagine that a girl like her would be so kind and helpful. I already felt a friendly connection with her and I was elated.

" It's okay. I'm having break now. I'll see you later then? " I asked hesitating.

She turned around and winked at me. " We're friends. And friends see each other all the time! Bye Chica! "

I laughed and waved my hand at her. Then suddenly I remembered the handkerchief she gave me!

Shit. I forgot to give it back to her.

I slumped my shoulders and went towards the cafeteria to get some food. I didn't even walk for less than a minute when suddenly I heard someone calling my name.

I turned around to see Adrian running towards me. A little part of me was still sad but the major part of me jumped with joy by seeing him.

"Alice wait! " he came near me and stopped in front of me, panting.

" Please... Please.. Wait. " he said in between breaths.

I was quite shocked. It was like he was searching for me all this time!

" I've been searching you since the time you left. Please let me explain. Irina is a total bitch and she did that to hurt you. And I think you're the most beautiful girl in this whole universe. Just don't get sad and please don't be mad. " he said looking straight to my eyes.

I held back a smile.

He thought I was the most beautiful girl in the whole universe?

" Oh. You think I'm the most beautiful girl in the whole universe? " I asked him with a smirk.

He seemed to have realised what he said and his eyes widened.

Oh god. He was so cute!

" Uh well, you're beautiful. So there's no denying it. " he replied with a charming smile - confidence radiating off of him.

I smiled. " It's okay. "

He breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at me. Then suddenly he looked towards me hands. I looked down to see he was staring at the handkerchief.

" Where'd you get it? " he asked frowning.

" Uh, Dakota gave me this. I mean I kinda bumped into her and she snapped at me which made me cry more and I ran to the washroom. She followed me and then talked to me nicely and helped me with the handkerchief. " I explained.

" You met Dakota? " he asked shocked.

" Yeah? " I asked uncertainty lacing my voice.

" That girl took my handkerchief again! " he sighed.

I mouthed an 'O'. " So you know her?"

He chuckled. "Yes. She's the only girl whom I know the best"

My stomach clenched and a weird heartbreaking feeling washed through my heart.

"So.. You two are close? " I asked looking down.

" Yes. Why wouldn't we? After all I love her so much." he said with a smile and a distant look in his eyes. Maybe he was thinking about her.

"Oh. So.. When from are you two in a relationship? " I asked mortified.

" Relationship? " he asked frowning.

" Yeah? " I said frowning.

He looked at me for some time before he burst out laughing!

" You thought Dakota is my girlfriend? " he asked.

I was confused. Because he only said he loved her and they are close.

" Alice! " I saw Dakota coming towards me.

" Give me my handkerchief I need - " she stopped as soon as she saw Adrian.

A sheepish expression laced her face and she stuck her tongue out at Adrian.

" Sorry brother. I lost my one so I had to take yours. . " she said.

Brother??

Adrian chuckled and hugged her. " It's okay. Now go. You've class in a bit. "

She nodded her head and took away the handkerchief from me.
" So you've already met my brother I guess. Then there's no need of introduction. See ya later Alice! " saying this she was off leaving me and Adrian.

" I guess you've got your answer miss. " he chuckled.

I laughed a little and nodded my head.

Whew! I was getting worried for nothing.

I facepalmed myself. It's not even been a day since I know him and I'm already thinking about him?

I'm really a hobo.

We talked some more and entered the cafeteria together.

Amanda's pov

"God.. Finally I'm free! " I sighed in relief.

It's been a long day and I've been working my ass off since the morning. I cleaned the children's rooms, washed clothes, brought errands, washed dishes and now I'm completely tired.

I sighed and sat down on the sofa, relaxing. The kids would be here any minute now.

And to my assumptions soon enough the front door opened.

"Mom! We're back! " I heard Adrian calling out to me.

" I'm here! " I shouted back.

Two pairs of footsteps ran towards me and within 2 seconds my children were in front of me.

" You all right mom? You seem like you're going to pass out. " Dakota said concerned.

" I'm fine. I'm just tired from all the cleaning I did today. " I answered smiling.

" Here. Take this and drink it. " Adrian said handing me a glass.

" What's this? " I frowned.

" It's sugar-salt lime water which acts as a natural glucose and helps your body to regain the energy you lost. " Dakota explained.

" And my sister is right! So hurry up! " Adrian ordered.

I rolled my eyes at them but smiled too as they were so much like their father when it came to taking care of me. Only God knew how much I loved my children and my husband. I would do anything for them. They are my life.

I drank the full glass and indeed I felt a little energised than before.
"Thank you. " I said gratefully.

They both stood up and pecked me on both the cheeks.

" I'll be upstairs doing homework. " Adrian said.

" I'm gonna go and take a shower. Mum, you better take rest. " Dakota said yawning.

" Aye aye captain! " I laughed.

They grinned and went to their rooms leaving me alone with a happy heart.

My phone beeped signalling a message and I took a look at it. I read the message and my brain freezed. A creepy feeling crawled it's way up to my spine.

The message said : looks like you're living a happy life. I saw your children today. They've grown up so much. I'd like to meet them personally someday.

It was a bit unsettling. I mean who can send me this kinda message?

I frowned but then pushed the thought away. I'll see to it later.

The message could wait but my children's stomach couldn't! I chuckled and went towards the kitchen to make them something.

Unknown's pov

"Are you playing me? You paid me to kill the girl but now you're saying to kill he afterwards? I mean what the fuck do you want me to do? " I snapped.

" Listen here dude. I paid you so you'll do whatever I say. It's just not the right time to kill her. For now you just keep an eye on her. If you do, I'll pay you extra. " the voice said from the other side of the phone.

Extra money? Well I sure did need money in my situation right now but I don't know why I just didn't feel right doing this. Shrugging the thoughts away I agreed.

" Okay "

" Good. For now, follow her. Keep an eye on her. I'll not be in contact with you for a month or so. I've got some other business to handle. When time comes, I'll tell you when to finish her. " saying this he cut the call and I sighed.

I kept my phone in my pocket and took out the girl's photo. I smiled at the memory when she got so scared seeing my shadow near the factory. She looked so cute.

I stiffened. What am I doing? I'm supposed to kill her. Not daydream about her!

I put the photo back in my purse and went outside.

Some fresh air would be good right now.
