Chapter Eight
Cameron laughed as she ran with Jackyln out of the museum, the twins watching them in bewilderment as they suddenly came sprinting toward them.
"You don't know us!" Cameron told them as she began to approach, slowing down a bit. "You've never seen us." She said firmly before running after Jacklyn who was calling her and tell her to hurry. The twins looked to each other in confusion, then they looked behind them.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
The girls kept running.
...
As they neared the woods they began to slow down, panting and laughing from the rush.
"I...I can't believe we pulled it off." Cameron breathed. Jacklyn wiped the forming sweat off her forehead.
"Same here." Jacklyn huffed and began to unroll the large layout of the exhibit. Cameron went to her friends side an peered over.
"That's some insane amount of security..." she mumbled, taking out her camera and snapping a picture of it just in case. Jacklyn blinked and looked at her friend.
"How do you know?" She asked. Cameron pointed.
"Theres sensors at the door and at every Autobot so if you just go 5 feet in front of them, an alarm will go off." Cameron began to explain.
"Can't we turn it off?" Jacklyn frowned. Cameron rubbed her neck as she looked it over.
"You could...but you would have shut it down from the inside. But how are we going to do that?" Cameron frowned and leaned against a tree. Jackyln rolled the layout up and began to think.
The woods was filled with silence. Cameron looked around the muddy tree filled landed. Her eyes saw the sun begin to rise, the rays shining through the branches.
"We can worry about that later. We should get ready for school." Cameron suggested and got off the tree. Jacklyn nodded.
"You're right. I'll...I'll think of something at school." She said and the two girls began to head to their home. Cameron shoved her hands in her pockets as they walked through the mud. "You know, you'd be glad you didn't come with me for the rest of the tour." Cameron told her honestly.
"Yeah? Why?" Jacklyn asked curiously, looking to the blonde. Cameron couldn't help but snort.
"It was ridiculous. Awful. Ratchet was forced to be half naked and teach me anatomy and such using himself as a model and I had to shoot Ironhide with a nerf gun...Wheeljack taught me to make bombs then..."she trailed off. "Well he's not dead. Just think of it as that." Cameron grumbled. Jacklyn frowned deeply.
"We got to hurry."
"Hurry with what exactly?" Cameron drowned and stopped walking. Jacklyn rose her eyebrows in surprise and stopped walking as well.
"What do you mean?" Jacklyn asked slowly, confused by her friends sudden shift in mood.
"Like what if we talk to them and they don't want to resist?" Cameron looked away. "I mean did you see them? Their pride is gone, they're hurting, they're weak..." she trailed off and shook her head.
Jacklyn grabbed her friends hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "Hey," she started. Cameron looked at her. "Its gonna be okay.."
"But what if were caught? We could die! This isn't like breaking and entering and then going to jail. No. If they see us or find out about us, were dead." Cameron snapped, ripping her hand out of Jacklyns. Jacklyn watched her friend continue to walk away and sighed. Maybe shes just tired...even if she makes a good point when she is...
Jacklyn was about to retort when she heard a loud screech. Jackylns eyes went wide as a Laserbeak came out of nowhere and snatched the floorplan out of her hands. "No!" Jacklyn cried, wanting to run after but knew better. Cameron turned around and her eyes widened.
"Watch out!" She yelled but it was too late. The laserbeak had circled around and knocked the brunette off her feet. Jacklyn yelped and fell to the ground, landing on her front. She groaned and slowly picked herself up from the ground. Mud stuck to her and her clothing. Jacklyn got up and rubbed her chin that was scratched from a few legs and branches beneath her. The laserbeak landed on a tree branch and peered down at them. The ground began to rumble as a large mech began to approached.
The girls could do nothing but stare and wait for their fate.
They were caught.
The vechicon stepped through the trees, pushing branches aside. The branches creaked and snapped as they broke. The vechcion glared down at them.
"I should kill the both of you right now." The con growled as he crouched down to them, his blaster charging slightly in anger.
An awkward silence filled the woods. Cameron shifted quietly.
"But you won't?" Cameron whispered. "Right?"
The con glared at them as if considering it. Shivers went down the two girls spines and Jacklyn couldn't help but look away. The crimson eyes of his seemed to bare into her soul. She hoped the con didn't remember or recognize her.
"No." He said simply and stood up. Cameron released a breath of relief. "Someone would like to speak to you." He grumbled but a small smirk began to form on his faceplates. Jacklyns eyes widened and she gulped.
