RWBY - (Volume 1) Chapter 6: A Glimpse

Your mind has nonstop been repeating the events of what occurred at that altar for several minutes now as you trudge through the Emerald Forest. Despite the dangers that lurk around you teeming to the brim with Grimm who only want to demolish you, that's not what's been eating away at your nerves. Whoever that man in the metal mask knew both you and Inari, thoroughly to the point of knowing both of your original letter-number designations. He mentioned something about Inari having done something to you, but you aren't even going to be begin to try to make sense of what he meant. You both continue walking, ducking underneath some low-hanging branches from the thick foliage that encompasses the forest.

Despite not wanting to focus on it, it's certainly taken a mental toll on you, those smells and sounds you heard were far too viscerally life-like to just be some sort of illusion. You've noticeably been far more quiet due to this than you've typically been known for and Inari has certainly noticed. The entire situation is beginning to genuinely upset you, everything went so wrong so fast and the entire time it felt like you were completely out of the loop there. Inari is currently a few feet ahead of you, he takes a moment to glance back at you every once in a while, his face contorting with more concern each time he does as there's been an unsteady silence growing since he found you.

Inari: "Alright, this isn't like you. What happened to you, (F)? And where's your board?" Inari states, finally breaking the silence as you stick your hands in your pockets and attempt to shake off the events that happened.

You: "Nothing happened, just got thrown off a cliff by a Gigas I was in the middle of fighting... damn thing ran off with my Empyrean stuck in its face..." You grumble while looking away from him. You're in no mood to tell him the truth of what happened at the altar for now.

Inari: "You were nowhere near the cliffside when I found you." Inari states, turning his attention back towards the direction you've both been walking in.  "I can believe you were fighting a Grimm, your injury to your arm indicates as much but I don't believed it would warrant the reaction you had when I found you freaking out." The more he begins to poke and prod at the situation the more volatile your temper becomes, that entire situation left you in a terrible mood.

You: "You tryna say something, Inari?" You say defensively, a scowl growing in your face as Inari sighs, readjusting his glasses.

Inari: "I'm only saying that if something were to bother you to that degree, it would save us both some trouble if you'd simply tell me the truth." Your eyes roll to the side, shaking your head slightly. A few moments of silence pass by before you hear Inari let out a huff before he grumbles "Fine, have it your way. Stubborn as ever."

You: "Look, I appreciate the concern Specks. But really, I'm alright, nothing to be concerned about. I just want to find my stupid board, find the stupid temple, get the stupid relic so we can join a stupid team and get on with this entire stupid school year." You almost childishly kick a nearby rock along your path as this whole thing is juuuust stupid to you, eventually catching back up to Inari, walking besides him with your head hung low.

Inari: "Sounds like a stupendous idea." You let out a deep groan over whatever sorry excuse for a half pun Inari just made, he chuckles to himself, clearing his throat attempting to stifle it.

You: "Oh so you got jokes now?" You cheekily smirk, as Inari simply rolls his eyes attempting to not call attention to what he said.

Inari: "I have no idea what you're talking about."

You: "Mmmhmm, hey wait a second you mentioned you were gonna send a signal when we reached the forest, what happened to that?" Inari glances back at you with narrowed eyes, a perplexed look on his face.

Inari: "I...did. I'm honestly rather shocked you never saw it." You now seem just as confused as him, you never saw any sign of a signal. He then raises his currently expanded spear-pen above the tree line as your eyes trail what he's pointing at as your mouth hangs open slightly. As eloquently written in the skies you see an enormous ink-like arrow pointing downwards into the forest. You are...EXTREMELY surprised you didn't see that...time to double down.

You: "I...well that coulda been anyone's Semblance that did that." As you finish saying that a few clouds move out of the way to reveal that more writing is shown, showing Inari's exquisite signature along with images of foxes written in the skies as well. Inari looks at you unamusingly...time to triple down "Pfft, but that could've been addressed to anyone" It seems like the heavens hate you today as the instant you said that the clouds clear up entirely to reveal your name in enormous bold letters above the arrow...QUADRUPLE DOWN "That would be a cool signal...if I could read, bad memory ya know." You knock on your head a few times and shrug smugly as Inari pinches the bridge of his nose annoyed.

Before Inari could berate you for your complete lack of awareness around you, your ear twitches as Inari's eyes sharpen into slits as you both glance over to your left and see a tree burst into flames a few yards ahead of you. You both jump into a defensive stance as the flames crackle, now hearing the sound of someone fighting as you both quickly glance at one another in surprise.

You: "Soooo we should probably go check that out, right?" You say while already beginning to run into the direction of the burning tree, Inari following swiftly behind you, he spins his spear in his hand

Inari: "I don't think it'd be necessarily wise, given current circumstances." Inari then glances over at you, noticing you'll be running head first into this without a weapon. "But I know I'd have an easier time attempting to convince a brick wall so be on guard." He then begins quickly drawing in the air as his Aura softly shimmers, a dark-ink substance is then shaped and formed into a curved hilt with dual large "blades" that wrap around the hilt and point in the same direction (Similar to an Energy Blade from Halo) "Dangerous to go alone, take this." He tosses it to you as you grab it, a soft hum coming from it, as the ink-link substance hardens slightly around the hilt. "It'll last you a few hits, don't go too wild with it." You give him a smug smirk as you both eventually reach the blazing tree. Quickly noticing the fire is beginning to quickly spread across the area. Looking past to see an entire pack of Beowolves, growling and howling wildly at two figures in the distance, now being obscured by the smoke that's quickly surrounding the area.

???: "We have to go!" You're just barely able to hear from the distance, and if your ears aren't playing tricks on you, you'd guess that voice just might be the Ice Queen herself, Weiss. You both attempt to get closer but quickly stop, you hold your hand out to forcibly halt Inari as a tree crackles and crashes down in front of you both, flames quickly blazing out of control. You cough harshly as the horrific stench of heavy smoke is getting into your lungs, your precise sense of smell being a heavy detriment to you now as this stench is overwhelming your nose, you plug your nose with your hand.

Inari: "We need to go around, They may need our assistance!" You nod as Inari coughs, the fire only burning faster around you both. You both begin sprinting through the ever closing gaps of pathways between the flames around you as that singular burning tree has very quickly become a full-fledged forest fire. The intense howling of Beowolves whimpering and howling all around you is causing your head to hurt from your attuned ears. Inari swings out a brush stoke that grows exponentially quickly and hardens, resting against a fallen over burning tree as you both quickly use that as a pathway over the tree only to see a straggling horde of cornered Beowolves awaiting on the other side.

What remains of the pack make a mad dash for you both as it's far too late at this point to attempt to flee. You watch as three of them snarl and claw their way towards you. Your brows furl together, with Inari's ink-weapon in your hand you swiftly run towards them as one wildly lunges at you in the air. You slide underneath the creature, plunging your blade upwards as the Grimm is easily cut in half from the force of its own lunge. You roll back up onto your feet only to see another Beowolf attempting to slash downwards, you narrowly maneuver your body out of the way of the slice before your Aura shimmers, crackles of lightning bursting around your arm as you bring your fist upwards colliding with the beast's jaw.

It catapults it backwards, lightning engulfing the Grimm as it gets knocked back into the third Beowolf attempting to approach, the residual lightning arcing off of both of them as they both are electrocuted violently before evaporating like all Grimm do. Your shoulder diodes flare up and eject steam as you get the unnerving feeling that you should duck, you quickly do so as you barely precieve a Beowolf claw nearly swipe at your head behind you. Using your momentum you grapple the Beowolf's claw before using its own body weight against it to fling it over your shoulder and crush it into the ground beneath you. The force of the throw embeds it into the ground before you stab your blade into the Grimm's chest, it quickly evaporates.

In the corner of your eye you notice Inari gracefully dodges out of the way of rapid slashes from two Beowolves at once, his spear behind his back as he spins it behind him before tossing it up into the air. One of the Beowolves attempts to slam down on his head as he expertly jumps and flips over the Beowolf, landing on its head before kicking off of its face knocking it backwards onto the ground as his spear lands directly in the fallen Beowolf's eye. He dashes towards his spear before using the embedded spear to swing his body around and forcibly kick the other approaching Beowolf away from him. He picks his spear back up before swiftly swinging his spear intricately, forming the shape of a fox's head which quickly grows and opens its jaws before being tossed directly at the Beowolf's head before clamping shut on it, easily taking its head clean off. Inari's Aura shimmers as you can clearly see his indigo colored core flaring brightly, he clicks his tongue in annoyance as one last Beowolf presents itself, standing between you both and the way out of this infernal pit. It snarls at you both as you glare at it. It gets low to the ground and begins to howl as several more Beowolves begin to arrive, all surrounding the only way to escape as the flames only continue to rage on and draw closer.

You cough quite violently, lifting up your arm to attempt to stifle the amount of smoke entering your lungs. Your eyes stinging from the thick smoke enveloping the air, this same burning feeling in your lungs is exactly the same as you felt back at the altar, the harsh creaking and snapping of trees from the flames dig into your ear canals as a throbbing dull pain is permeating in your head. This intense heat which only grows more intense as the seconds go by. The grim scarlet lighting causes you to hold your head in pain as your mind forces itself back to the earliest memories you can recall...

That facility...its scarlet alarms blaring within your ears even now...you still can't remember for the life of you as to why you were in there...those men in white armor with their weapons drawn at you that all stood by as the man that's plagued your dreams that stood before you back then...you couldn't remember it before, but now...now you're sure of the name of this man. More than anything of your past, you remember this name that you can only associate with rage...Doctor Watts. This single instance of his name being remembered strikes a chord within you as your eyes enter a frenzic state of overwhelming anger that encompasses you out of nowhere. The core in your chest humming loudly as it vibrantly pulses, your shoulder diodes flaring up once again, ejecting more steam as Inari shoots a look over at you in concern.

Inari: "Calm yourself, if we steady ourselves we ca-" You don't let him finish his sentence as the gyros in your legs whir and get readied before you explode over to where the Beowolf is. Your eyes pulsate with a brilliant amber color, your core humming loudly as you feel your back and arm contort and twist in pain, gritting your teeth through it as a horrid, jagged ash pattern trails from your spine down to your arm, pulsating strands of amber coursing through this pattern as they brilliantly shine as you raise your hand towards the pack of Beowolves.

You: "IGNITION!" You ferally screech out in instinct as your arm trembles violently, something Primal awakens in you for a moment before an incredible torrent of dense flames blast from the palm of your hand, the blaze engulfs and completely incinerates the beowolves easily, the inferno charrs the very ground into a smooth glossy black coloring and the trees behind them are wiped out from the pure force of these infernal flames. The flames sputter and eventually die out from your palm as you heave out of breath as your arm contorts violently. You drop to your knees in agonizing pain, flinching and holding your arm as you look at this ash pattern painfully creep back into your spine before fading away...

You: "W-what the hell was that?" You fearfully state as you look at yourself, Your core is now weakly pulsing its normal amber color as your eyes feel quite fatigued now, you glance back at Inari in complete shock as Inari covered his mouth with his hand though his eyes don't convey as much shock as you. Did that power come from your Semblance? It would make the most logical sense... problem was, you had Lightning Dust in your system so then how the hell did you use flames, let alone on that scale...? Your mind is utterly lost on this as you observe the now charred ground and splintered trees, there's still fire spreading around you both as Inari quickly runs over to you.

Inari: "No time to dwell on that! We must flee!" He yells, slugging your arm over his shoulder before you both quickly make your way out of the burning part of the forest. You both continue going further and further, you periodically look back at the permanent scar you made in the forest as you truly don't understand what happened, that pain that flooded your head has faded just as quick as it came. You cough and hack as your lungs is still recovering from the heavy amounts of smoke.

You glance down at yourself, you can clearly see that you are both completely covered in soot and dirt, your eyes glancing up to see a sliced tree with a EXTREMELY large feather resting upon, you and Inari both give each other a look, definitely belongs to a Nevermore. You quickly keep trudging along as a Nevermore is the last thing you'd both want to face off against now as you cough and remove your arm from around Inari as you steady yourself, standing up straight, attempting to walk as you still incredibly fatigued from whatever you did back in the fire.

You flinch, feeling overwhelming pain in the same arm you used in that 'Ignition' as you believe you called it, looking down as you roll up the sleeve of your jacket, noticing that the same injury on your arm from earlier against that Gigas has seemingly gotten much worse. It was starting to dull in pain before your body forced you to do that, so whatever you used back there seemed to have just made that previous injury far worse.

Inari: "(F), you're injured. We should stop to bandage that." He says while looking over at you with narrowed eyes, you use your good arm to wave him off, he coughs lightly as you both continue walking.

You: "I'll be aigh-" You begin to say as your ear twitches slightly, you stop suddenly as you hear what definitely seems like two people shouting at one another. You both glance at each other, intrigued as you both then walk forwards through a few bushes to see the Ice Queen and Little Red both having a yell-off with one another. Seems like they were lucky enough to be each other's partners...greeeaaattt. They haven't seemed to have noticed either of you yet.

Ruby: "It means you're a big, stupid jerk and I hate you!" Your eyes widen as you glance over to see Weiss groan, spinning on her heels and somehow not seeing you and beginning to walk away from Ruby.

Weiss: "Just keep moving!" You and Inari give each other awkward glances, you're not quite sure if this is something you should get involved in...

Ruby (Mocking): "Oh, just keep moving! Hurry up! Waaaah! Watch where you're going! She says in a rather accurate Weiss voice, enhanced by doing a fake crying gesture before she places her hands behind her back and going back to her normal voice "Why are you so bossy?" Weiss angrily turns right back around to face Ruby and begins stomping over to her

Weiss: "I'm not bossy! Don't say things like that!" Well...certainly proves Ruby's point as quickly as she brought it up. Inari is scowling at Weiss, his eyes constricting into slits once again as he clenches his fist angrily.

Ruby: "Stop treating me like a kid!" They're beginning to get up in each other's faces as Inari begins to step forwards, you grab onto his arm to stop him, he looks back at you confused, you simply gesture with his head for him to watch for now.

Weiss: "Stop acting like a kid!"

Ruby: "Well, stop acting like you're perfect!"

Weiss: "I'm. Not. Perfect! Not yet... But I'm still leagues better than you." She turns and begins to walk away...alright, not gonna lie that was a HORRIBLE thing to say to her. Your eyebrows narrow, looking at Weiss disappointingly.

Ruby: "You don't even know me..." She says sadly, looking down...alright hearing Little Red like that is definitely enough for you to step in now, you begin walking forwards.

You: "Hey guys, as much as I enjoy a good screamfest, it's probably nooot the best team exercise I can think of." Ruby's eyes light up from her sadness, as you simply see Weiss pinch the bridge of her nose in annoyance

Weiss: "As if this day could not get any more annoyin-" She grumbles, they both turn towards you as their wildly different first reactions to hearing you have both quickly turned into genuine looks of concerns. Which granted, you and Inari certainly warrant those looks as you're both looking rough from escaping the forest fire, the bleeding arm isn't exactly helping either. "What happened to you guys!?" She says with her eyebrows furled, they both begin quickly making their way towards you both.

Ruby: "Ohhh nooo! Did you guys get caught up in that fire???" She worryingly asks, looking over the both of you as she somehow hovers over your shoulder with massive tearful eyes. Inari slowly brings her back to the ground as Weiss walks right up to you, her eyes certainly have a mix of different emotions, mainly negative. You can clearly see anger in facial expressions but undeniably there's a sense of worriedness in there.

You: "We uh...thought we heard someone in there, we wanted to make sure whoever they were ended up alright." You say, avoiding eye contact with the Ice Queen. Attempting to scratch the back of your neck with your bad arm which instantly reminds you that it was a bad idea, you flinch rather violently, your arm lowering quickly as your other hand quickly puts pressure on the bleeding wound.

Weiss: "Ugh...you idiots." She says somewhat softly while overlooking you "Ruby, can you look over the other dunce and make sure he's not gonna bleed out too?" Ruby looks over at her with a bit of a glare before sighing and beginning to look over Inari.

You: Alright, first off, rude. Second off-" She raises a finger to your lips, you flinch backwards by the sudden cut off, she angrily looks at you, but not out of the typical hatred you associate with her but more of one that stems from being concerned.

Weiss: "I'm not in the mood, Ruffian. Sit down, you're gonna need to take that jacket off so I can properly look at that wound." She says sternly as she does so herself, resting on her knees as she simply looks up at you unamusingly. You want to think of something witty to say...nothing comes to mind as those dazzling sapphire eyes stare up at you. You roll your eyes and sit down roughly with a huff, swiftly taking off your jacket as you sit only in that compression shirt, luckily the amount of soot on your body makes it quite difficult for her to see the surgical scars and skin grafts on your arms, but at this point its unavoidable to ignore the softly glowing core in your chest. Avoiding eye contact with her once again as she reaches into her skirt's pockets, pulling out a small first-aid kit.

You: "Damn, do you just have infinite space in those pockets?" You cheekily state, Weiss doesn't seem to even bat an eye to your slight jab as head tilts ever so slightly in confusion. She simply opens the first-aid kit before grabbing what looks like rubbing alcohol and gauze tape. "Tough crowd today..." You grumble as she looks up at you with a slight glare.

Weiss: "Your board is missing, what happened to it?" She shortly states as she digs around in the first-aid kit, looking to see if anything else would be needed as your eyes draw closer together.

You: "You mean the 'barbaric' piece of equipment? Currently lodged in a Petra Gigas somewhere in the forest." She closes her eyes and breathes sharply and exhales, it certainly doesn't seem like she liked that answer.

Weiss: "So let me get this straight, you dove head first into a fire filled to the brim with Grimm without your weapon all because you THOUGHT you heard someone?" Now that she mentions it, it was...definitely not the smartest idea.

You: "Well...if you say it like THAT it sounds stupi-" She unexpectedly pours some of the rubbing alcohol on your wound as you flinch in pain "GAH- OW!" She rolls her eyes, ignoring your cries as she begins to attempt to clean up the wound, you flinch ever so slightly each time that she wipes away at your injured arm.

Weiss: "Because it was stupid. Now look at you, as if you didn't look like a hoodlum already." The last portion of her sentence she somewhat grumbles to herself slightly as you roll your eyes. You slightly lean your upper body back against a nearby tree, looking up at the softly swaying leaves above you.

You: "Look, I only did it because I thought I heard you, Ice Queen..." Weiss stops, her head tilting slightly, her eyes narrowing, studying you meticulously.

Weiss: "I..." She leans in somewhat slightly to look deeper into your eyes for a few moments, before quickly shaking her head, a slight flush of pink rushes to her cheeks "I still think you could've assessed the situation first before rushing in head first."

You: "Anyone tell you that you seriously have to work on your bedside manners, Ice Qu-...Weiss?" You grumble attempting to listen what she said about not wanting to be called that, her eyes dart upwards from treating your wound, looking up at you for a few moments with intrigue before continuing her work. "So...what did Inari and I stumble onto when we first got here." She huffs angrily, her eyes seem to be purposefully avoiding contact with yours.

Weiss: "I'd rather not discuss that." You raise an eyebrow with interest in your eyes, it's clear from her stern face that the heated discussion between her and Ruby left a bad taste in her mouth.

You: "It might help get a load off your chest...you seem tens-" Your eyes shut in pain as she somewhat harshly scrapes off a stubborn splinter in your wound as your other hand instinctually grips her arm almost immediately. She looks up at you, her eyes glancing down at the hand currently on her arm, a few moments pass by before she softly sighs and looks down angrily.

Weiss: "This is all that child's fault." She lowly grumbles, you're barely able to hear her but her eyes keep darting around, as if there's something she's withholding from you currently. You gently let go of her arm as she's now beginning to roll the gauze tape around the treated wound.

You: "Mind explaining what's your deal with Little Red? This isn't the first time you've snapped at her and this one definitely seemed like the biggest fight so far." She scoffs, rolling her eyes as she tightly wraps the bandage around your arm which seems like it was on purpose as your arm throbs slightly.

Weiss: "Oh for the love of-, do I really need to spell it out for you?" She glares over at Ruby who's currently sitting with Inari, they're both seemingly just enjoying each other's company as they laugh talking over something you can't really hear from this distance. "This whole time she's been an immature, clumsy brat who's way in over her head." Her eyes stare at Ruby with clear disgust as you watch her with curious eyes. "If it wasn't for her inexperience I wouldn't have been blown up at the academy yesterday, I wouldn't have set the forest on fire and you wouldn't be in this state right now!" The more she speaks, the angrier she seems to get. Shaking her head as her head turns away from Ruby looking down towards the grass you're both sitting on.

You: "Well I can definitively understand the frustration...but don't you think you're being just too harsh on her?" She glares at you, crossing her arms and impatiently tapping her finger against herself. "You've known her for what, two days? Give her a chance, people make mistakes, even you. I think she'll surprise you if you just open up to her a little. No way of knowing if you're actually 'leagues better than her' unless you actually let her show off her skills a bit." She looks at you intensely for a few moments as she breathes in slowly, her gaze lightens as she simply scoots herself back towards the same tree you're leaning against, resting her head back against the tree.

Weiss: "Hmph. You're far too sympathetic for your own good, you know that, Ruffian? It's infuriating." You softly chuckle as a few moments of silence passes before she begins to speak "Look, I don't WANT to be rude to her all of the time. Unfortunately for us, we're gonna be stuck together for the next few years but that does not mean my respect for her is just given away freely." Her head turns towards you as you do the same. "If my sister has taught me anything, it's that respect is earned. Even if my father would want to me to think otherwise." Her eyes trail downwards, it seems she's lamenting over something.

You: "Your...what's it called..." You grumble attempting to remember the word for it " 'family' seems to be something of a mess, huh?" Her eyes look up to you in surprise by the sudden question. You don't have a family you know of, so to you the concept of one is completely foreign to you. After a slight pause she simply rolls her eyes as she begins to look up to the tree branches above you both.

Weiss: "You have no idea...the Schnee family has become so enwrapped in politics, secrets and corruption that I wouldn't even know where to begin." She huffs as she raises her hand, tracing the scar along her left eye. Your eyes narrow slightly.

You: "Not to pry but, how'd that happen? I know a thing or two about injuries and that scar seems somewhat recent." Her eyes shift over towards you, her eyes attempting to decipher what you're thinking for a few moments, her gaze lowering towards the softly glowing core in your chest, there's a slight pause before she begins to speak.

Weiss: "I got it from an Armored Gigas, it was part of a test from my father to prove I was capable of going to be Beacon...one final attempt to keep me by his side in Atlas." She says with a quiet groan  "A hideous reminder of why I chose to leave behind that cushy, pompous life."

You: "Seems like there's a lot to unpack there." You somewhat bluntly state as for what seems like the first time you see Weiss begin to have the slightest hint of a smile on her face.

Weiss: "You don't know the half of it." You both lightly chuckle as for once Weiss looks almost not appalled being around you for once.

You: "Oh and it's not hideous, by the way." She glances over at you, a slight tilt in her head, seemingly confused by your sudden comment. Her brow raising slightly "Your scar...I think it suits you nicely. I would even say it looks gorgeous, in my eyes." Weiss seems stunned...

Weiss: "Thank you (F)...that's..." Weiss' gaze locks in with yours...it's quite subtle but it seems like your heads are slowly drawing closer together. It isn't long before you both are a few inches away from each other's faces. At this point you feel your heartrate rising, at this distance her perfume is almost overwhelming your senses in its sweet richness. A  soft blush present in both of your faces as her eyes her lips slightly parted before she closes her eyes, her nose scrunching slightly "T-that's enough about me, Ruffian." She quickly shakes her head and clears her throat as you also realize just how close you both have gotten to each other, you embarrassingly scooch slightly away as you scratch the back of your neck, avoiding eye contact " Well, I hope you're satisfied with that answer, delinquent." She almost defensively states crossing her arms, you roll your eyes playfully. There's the Ice Queen you remember. "I could ask the same question with whatever's glowing in your chest right now." You rather swiftly cross your arms as well in a vain attempt to cover it up, as your eyes quickly avoids her. She notices this as she leans her head forwards, her eyes drawing closer together.

You: "Well...that's um-" Before you could attempt to find any sort of answer, you all hear a faint shriek overhead. Immediately you all quickly stand up to your feet, Weiss placing a hand on the hilt of her rapier as you grip the ink-weapon Inari made for you as you all look up to the skies to see an enormous Nevermore circling above you all, it shrieks once again loudly as your ears twitch slightly from the high-pitched nature of the screech.

Weiss: "Oh of course we gain the attention of a Nevermore." She scoffs, it begins to swoop down as you all begin to prepare yourself. Your eyes widen as it caws loudly, diving down explosively, its powerful wings bursting through several trees as you all dive onto the ground to prevent being swept by it. It caws angrily as its flaps its way up and high into the sky again. Encircling around you all again

Inari: "They are attracted to negative emotions, after all. You and Ruby's little escapade must've drawn it to us." He says as Weiss shoots off a glare in his direction. She glances down afterwards, knowing he is likely telling the truth.

You: "Anyone got any ideas on how to take one of these down?" You say while glancing over at the other three. Weiss shakes her head while Inari groans angrily and looks down. Ruby's head tilts as she grips onto her scythe, looking up at the Nevermore before a devious little smile goes across her face "Got somethin', Little Red?"

Ruby: "I miiight have a crazy idea." Weiss scoffs, angrily looking over at Ruby

Weiss: "Oh absolutely not-" The Nevermore loudly shrieks again as you all flinch as it begins to swoop downwards again. You all prep yourselves as you look over at Weiss, she remains silent before glancing over at you, your eyes lock as you slowly nod at her. She taps her foot impatiently before groaning, reeling her head back. "Fine! I'm sure whatever you came up with can't possibly be worse than our current circumstances." You give a snarky smirk as it seems like she's taking your words to heart as Ruby looks at her in slight shock in actually wanting to listen to her.

Ruby: "O-oh! Really you actually want to hear it!?" She says with sparkles in her eyes, it's clear this has made her quite happy.

Weiss: "Yeah, yeah get over it. What's the plan before it tries to flatten us!" Weiss says while rolling her eyes in annoyance. Ruby cheekily smirks and laughs before looking up vigilantly at the rapidly approaching Nevermore.

Ruby: "Alright listen up!" You all steady yourselves, a crooked smile appears on your face. Ruby is now mischievously laughing as...suddenly you're not too sure about letting her take the reins of this plan. Surely her plan can't be THAT insane right?...Right?

(That'll do it for this chapter, Next chapter I'm likely gonna do a similar thing of combining the next 2 episodes together just to keep things moving. Hope y'all enjoyed some bits of lore hints and drops and some little bits of growing romantic tension.)
