𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨...
Bluebell opened the door to her dorm and in a corner was a skywing. He was laying on top of a bed of fluffy hay, reading a scroll. He was a crimson scarlet red with a deep cherrywood color on his back scales and horns. He had a light peach underbelly, snout and freckles. From what she could see it was something about Queen Ruby's accomplishments.
The skywing looked up at Bluebell. He looked confused for a moment but then it turned into realization. "Oh hello there! You must be a part of this winglet right?" He asked in a friendly tone. Bluebell didn't speak for a moment, getting shy all of a sudden. "Oh um-yeah..! I'm Bluebell." She smiled awkwardly at him. "I'm Silas, it's nice to meet you." He smiled back at her.
A moment passed before echoes of laughter and chatter came from the hallways outside and sounded like they were only getting louder. Bluebell turned around and closed the door, when she looked back she saw a green hammock on the other side of the room, across from Silas's bed. Dappled dots of sunlight shined through small holes in the rock wall onto her hammock. "Oh, I guess I didn't realize they would have special beds for each of us.." She mumbled to herself as she walked over to the hammock. She laid in the hammock, it wasn't something she was used to but she didn't mind it. She took out her mysterious scroll and hid it under a leafy pillow off to the side of the hammock.
Silas must have had good hearing because he replied "Yes, but most of them are generic. Like mine but that Icewing's bed is over in the corner away from any sunlight so that she doesn't overheat. Speaking of that Icewing.." He began to get up from his bed. "You just got to the school right? It would probably be good if you meet some of the others.! They're all at the library. Plus, I should probably return this scroll to Starflight before he realizes that I took it for a year. Heh heh!" He said positively. He walked over to the door, opening it and stood outside waiting for her. He looked back at Bluebell and tilted his head to the side a little bit to the side. "Do you want to go?" Bluebell came out of her bed and walked over to him, "Sure, Why not?"
They began their walk down the hall to the library. No one had spoken yet. Should I say something? It's getting quiet, maybe I should ask him something? She thought. Before she could think of something to say, Silas got there first. "So, where did you live before this?" He asked. Bluebell thought of what to say. "Hm, well for most of my life I lived in a cave right outside the sea with my parents. Then my father went missing and my mother made us move to Sanctuary. I think she wanted me to live in the rainforest like she did but I think she knew that I'd probably get bullied over the fact that I don't have venom or I can't change my scales-" She rambled on before stopping abruptly.
"What? Is everything alright?" Silas asked when she stopped. "Oh, it's nothing..I normally try not to tell people I'm completely defenseless, or have no special talent like any other dragon has..." The seawing like freckled scales across her face glowed a very soft crimson with little spots of dark grey and blue.
"Woah! What's that?" He asked curiously. She turned her head to the side confused before realizing he was looking at something glowing softly under her eyes. "Oh...!This is really the only thing I can do. It's the only part of me that really shows I'm a hybrid. Rainwing is the colors that show what emotion I'm feeling and the Seawing half is the part that glows. From what I've experienxed, the more it glows the more intense that feeling is." She shrugged.
"It's so...beautiful..!" He said in quiet awe, nearing her face so close that she could feel his warm scales radiating heat onto hers and could see his calm crystal river blue eyes reflect the soft light she was emitting. Her freckles turned a bright rosy crimson, washing out any of the grays that lingered in there. She flapped her wings around in a fluster, jumping forward and continued walking, except it was more like she was running in flustered panic. Silas's his expression was unmoving. It looked like his face was trying to mimic the same color her freckles glowed with the blush that grew across his face.
Silas blinked his eyes a couple times and shook his head before realizing she ran up ahead. "Hey wait! That's the wrong way!" His warning echoed and bounced across the hallway's walls as he tried to catch up to Bluebell, who was alarmingly faster than he expected; probably becasue she had no other way to defend herself naturally he thought...
Authors note; I will be displaying Bluebell's feeling more openly through her freckled scales. If you want, you can look them up for what they mean to! Also Silas's ref sheet is in the image at the top if you want to know what he really looks like.
