Wait, What just happened?
"Thank you very much Tamaki-san" said Sakura with a polite grin.
"Yeah! Tea was awesome dattebayo!" exaclaimed the everactive blonde.
"Arigato Nohara-san." even the usually impassive uchiha managed to slip gratitude between the lines.
Tea had been a splendid affair, as it turned out her mother was a famous bakery owner in Kiri and the eloquent woman had gone out of her way to be a nice host.
What had started as a help to bake cookies had turned to a full blown turnout.
With some help from the gennin and their sensei, she had been able to whip up a delectable dainty savory, with cream puffs, buns, tarts, scorns, rolls, and even some store sold s'mores.
Not to mention the Tea, which left to Sasuke and Naruto had resulted in Four different varieties, and Tamaki and Kakashi amused as the two young shinobi argued over White Tea and Green tea, or Black Tea and Herbal Tea.
So, of course, by the time the gennin finished baking and devouring, it was less of a surprise as the clock struck eight.
"Oh Dear! Time sure does go by, I think you children should turn in,Sakura, Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi. It's past your bedtime!"
'There are certain things about people that never change' Thought Kakashi.
'And for Tamaki-oba it's her innner mother hen.' he decided.
While Sasuke and Naruto covertly enjoyed the sheepish look their sensei had at being called a 'kid', Sakura giggled and said, "Tamaki-san! We haven't got any bedtime, besides, it would call for utmost improperness and unprofessionalism from us if we abused your hospitality for another Night, and not to mention we didn't even start the mission! Right, Kakashi-sensei?"
Kakashi, who had been previously clearing up the plates with Naruto while Sasuke as he carried the glasses, cups and other culinary, gave his pink haired student a strained eye-smile as he said, "While that would be true Sakura, the choice really is upto Tamaki oba-san, as she was the client in the mission." Kakashi gave an indecipherable look to the elder woman, who reciprocated it.
She sighed. To think she had hoped for them to drop the matter altogether.
While of couse, she had hoped she would be able to pull herself together as she watched Rin's items, her last physical memories being disarranged into boxes and moved up in the attic...
No, she was more worried about Kakashi.
Being a retired Jonin surviving two of the three great wars, her intelect had not yet failed her as she deduced that this was not in any method meant to be intentional by the hokage, her long abscence from the village leaving her in the dark of this 'complicated' situation.
But boy had lost too much already, and she feared that re-visiting those old better forgotten moments of history might just as well push him over the edge, because even the most seasoned shinobi had a boiling point, and the more power one had in rage the worse was the outcome always.
That being said, what could be the only possible scenario worse than the previous was if he reached his breaking point.
The outcome is never neat, people change, they change until they themselves barely know the person in the mirror, some ninja go rouge, some have panic attacks and other mental disorders that disorients them from their axis.
Little did she know that he was too far over his breaking point.
Nor did she realise that she was steadily reaching hers.
She made a stiff brisk walk to the key board, that had bunches of shaped metals glinting in the light.
The tension in the air grew, she turned her head slightly towards the son of the white fang, who radiated anxiety and uncertanity.
Much to Team seven's chargin, they felt the sheer amount of emotions between the split second gaze of the jounin and ex-jounin but still had no Idea what was this war about.
Trembeling slightly, she tipped on her toes and reached out to the bunch of keys in the key holder high on the wall , as she inched forward, she was hit by a wave of old memories, those of her kind, brave, dead child, each more painful and clear than the one before.
As she finally touched the cold, mettalic surface of the longest Key, she visibly flinched as she immediately retracted her arm, as though electocuted.
"Kaa-chan! Look! I can hit all the targets" an excited young girl of eight , hair like ebony eyes like chestnut grabbed her mother's hand and dragged her to the back yard.
Silent tears poured down her cheeks, as she cradeled her forehead with her palm, and that soon turned to a vice grip of her cranial hairs, biting her lip hard enough to draw blood.
"Kaa-chan!! I can't wait to start the academy! I'm going to be a strong ninja like you and Tou-san, and I will protect everyone dear to me!" the very same girl said, pointing to her academy registration form.
"Kaa-chan!! I graduated! I passed the bell test! Can you believe it? I'm on the team of the yellow flash!" An older version of the very same girl again, tapping her forehead protector.
She leaned against the wall, for support, a connection to reality, as she felt her heart tear itself apart.
"Kaa-chan!! I-I'm studpid, a-and we-weak, a-all I will e-ever be is a b-burden!" Her daughter, seeked the warmth of her comfort, trembeling in fear and rage, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Kaa-chan!! I have a date! with KAKASHI! I hope I don't mess this up... that's all I seem to do these days anyway." A sombere 13-year whispered out the last part, but themother caught it anyway.
"Kaa-chan!! WHY?? You could have helped! I said I was fine, but I thought being my mother and a jounin you could understand! You couln't protect me, I don't want my siblings to suffer the same."
"Kaa-chan!! Kaa-chan!! KAA-CHAN!!"
As happy shouts morphed into horrifiying screams and condemming whispers, Tamaki slid down the wall that was anchoring her to sanity, the figures of Kakashi Naruto and Sasuke slowly blurring from her teary vision.
'Rin-chan is right. I can't aford to ruin the lives of any more children, I was a terrible mother, and will always be... Her death was my fault.'
Those were her last thoughts as she slipped into blissful oblivion.

A shoutout to kindheart2005 for being an awesome reader (Check out her Rin story, its pretty good)
And just to make this clear, no, Rin is NOT sucideal or something, this was just Tamaki's preception as all she knew about the mission where she died was that she jumped in front of a chidori, Tamaki thinks that it was because she felt she was not good enough as a shinobi...
And yeah she just had an attack of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.( Personal experience, it is no fun :C)
