To know what was not

The very moment his Gennin gulled him into accepting this mission, he had a feeling that things were likely to go south very quickly.

Contrary to earlier conceptions, he thought, they did not.

Well, then again he was wrong.

Let's just say Kakashi Hatake was not a man very often favored by luck.

In the worse case, Sasuke blows over the top and fireballs the house, or Naruto Bombards the homestead with an inexplicable amount of shadow clones (There was, after all, a reason that unorthodox means as mentioned were banned for the duo, and Naruto's head was the only thing Sakura had damaged).

But surely, when he raced upstairs when he heard the shrill echo of their screams, facing a deity from his nightmares was NOT what he had expected to see.

"YOU FOOLS!" thundered the god of death, and he swore he felt his heart stop and blood freeze.

"You have unleashed one of the greatest evil prowess since the sage of six paths, may Kami-sama have mercy on your soul."

He watched with bated breath as the apparition turned to wisps of smoke and floated away.

For the next few minutes, every being in the room had to remind themselves how to breathe again, and that being done was when chaos and confusion broke out.

"Released an evil prowess? What the hell is that supposed to mean?!"

"W-was th-that the g-god of d-death?"

"OMYKAMIWHATHAVEWEDONEFORGIVEUSFORGIVEUSFORGIVEUS!!!"

"It has happened" Tamaki whispered.

All heads bolted towards the woman, who seemed to be is a sort of haze probably from the recent happenings.

With still glazed over eyes, she gently turned towards Kakashi.

"Try to remember. You know, we tried to make you forget." She took a step closer to Kakashi.

"You have to remember, it's something you shouldn't have forgotten." She whispered.

Kakashi frowned, it couldn't be. "Tamaki-san, you should probably have a glass of water, you are clearly still in shock."

She sighed. There is no point in denying the past, you can only move on if you accept it.

"Naruto-chan, please come here," she called the blond.

Naruto made his way over to the other side of the room with shaky legs, stumbling over the scrolls and boxes knocked by the recent storm.

She gently ruffled his golden locks and took his shivering hand into her own and carefully examined it.

"Just as I thought. You released kushina-sama's seal. It was a blood seal, which would generally be impossible, but you are special, aren't you?" she looked straight down into confused, scared blue eyes, which also held a hint of.....self blame?

For Naruto, today could easily be one of the worse days of his life. Apparently, the semi-nice stranger knew about his...furry secret, and somehow the entire thing was the fox's fault, and by extension his own, and he had no clue what was going on in his life right now.

Kakashi however, knew exactly was the elderly Nohara was talking about, and he cared enough to elaborate and avoid any further misconceptions.

"It's not THAT Naruto. No THIS is an even longer story."

Naruto tilted his head in confusion, and Sasuke and Sakura were still trying to figure out reality.

(Well, he never did provide very good explanations)

It was at this time Tamaki took matters into her own hands.

She walked over to a further corner of the room and motioned the children to follow her.

She lifted a few books that had gotten knocked over from the bookshelves, and that revealed the wooden wall behind, which had ancient symbols arranged in a spiral inscribed on the wall.

The spiral had a dark brown patch, undoubtedly oxidized blood.

Naruto's blood.

While Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura continued to question the retired shinobi, Kakashi finally pieced the missing pieces together and had a trip down the memory lane.

Flashback

"Rin, Minato-sensei already thinks we need psychological help, and once he finds out we are trying to talk to Obito using an Ouija board he is going to flash us there himself." Kakashi deadpanned.

Rin huffed. "stop being so uptight, Kakashi-kun. Don't you want to talk to him again? So what if it doesn't work, ANYTHING that may give us a chance to contact him is worth a shot in my book."

"But it says right here on the box- '3+'. So you need to be 21 to get drunk and 3 to summon spirits? It's obviously a rip-off."

Rin gave him 'the look'.

Kakashi sighed. You could only try to change her mind when she wants something, women.

As she set down the planchet and board, he internally debated going through with this. Yes, he did admit the slightest possibility of apologizing and thanking Obito turned his stomach, but generally, when something is too good to be true, it isn't.

Besides, if her mom, Minato-sensei or even Kushina caught them with this, it was a week in rehab for the two of them.

She cleared her throat and read aloud the instructions on the cardboard box.

1. There should be two or more players.

2. The person being contacted should be dead.

"Well, that's two checks." he duly mummerd.

So, they folded their legs and sat on opposite sides of the wooden board.

She placed her ring and index fingers on the wooden triangle with a lense and Kakashi followed the same.

"Is there someone who would like to communicate with us?" She asked.

The temperature in the room dropped a few degrees, and Kakashi could hardly believe his eyes as the planchet dragged itself to the corner that said 'YES'.

"Are you Obito?"

It went to 'NO'.

Kakashi could feel himself shaking with anticipation and possibly fear at this notion, and Rin comfortingly squeezed his shoulder.

"Can you help us find our friend?" Rin asked with a slight shake in her voice.

This time, the planchet moved to the letters, and spelled, 'W-H-O'.

Kakashi took a deep breath and Rin gave him a reassuring gaze.

"Obito Uchiha."

Suddenly, the planchet flew violently to the wall and broke its lense glass into many shards.

By this sudden action of the dead, Rin was petrified in Kakashi's arms while he clung to her for life.

None of them had the courage to see whatever evil had appeared to punish them, and shut their eyes too tightly for their own good.

The unseen Figure had dense, coarse voice which was murmmering in some ancient forgotten language, but by the tone, it wasn't anything particularly pleasant.

Then suddenly, a rather known well-known voice yelled,"Fuuinjutsu: Andeddo kara no Chika chi no chi! Fuuin!"

Suddenly, it all stopped. The whirlwind getting violent my the second, the low screech of the demon, and the room seemed a lot warmer too.

"Okay tweens, you have two seconds to explain." Their red-headed guardian angel commanded with her hands on her hips.

Kakashi and Rin slowly let go of each other, blushing for a second and then continued to explain.

"So let me get this straight" kushina said with a frown.

"You used an ouija board, reading only the spirit rules....did you even look at all of them in the back?"

She flipped the cardboard box and read,

1. Ouija boards are not a joke. before you use a ouija board.

2. The most important rule is to never taunt or goad a spirit to communicate with you through the Ouija board. This can have disastrous conseqences.

3. Never ask a Ouija board when you are going to die.

4. Spirits who talk to you through your Ouija board can tell you anything they want. Just because a spirit says something does not mean it is true. A spirit try to win your trust by telling you they are a long lost relative or the spirit of a small child who needs your help. In reality, the spirit could be malevolent.

5. Never use a Ouija board alone. The more people with you when using a Ouija board, the better. This means there is more energy present to connect with a spirit. If not everyone can comfortably sit and touch the planchette, it's fine to have some people just be viewers.

6. Do not use a Ouija board in your home. If you do connect with a malevolent spirit, the energy will be in your home and it will be harder to break contact.

7. One person in the group should be the leader. This is the person who will talk and ask questions while the group is using the board.

8. If you are using the Ouija board and are not the "leader", you should keep your fingers on the planchette and remain silent. No one should laugh or ask whether it is "working" — this is negative energy which interferes with the process! Try not to decipher the words as the planchette moves. Your role is to close your eyes and focus your energy on the planchette.

9. The leader should not ask joke questions!!!

10. One person should be assigned the task of keeping track of the answers. They can write down the letters/words on a notepad and translate to the group what they think the spirit is saying. Try not to guess what the answers are in the moment. Write down what is happening and do that after the planchette stops moving.

11. Don't leave the planchette on the board. When you are done using your ouija board, remove the planchette from the board. Even if you are just leaving the room for a bit, it's considered bad luck to leave the planchette on the board.

She looked down at the two kids with a rare cross look.

"But I still don't get, why would he be so displeased...you know if I hadn't come when I did you were about to be cursed?" She said.

"B-but w-wait, are there even Jutsu's to fight something like that?" Rin asked.

"Yes, but only Uzumaki can use them, we are favored by the death god..." She answered.

"Okay, irresponsible shinobi, you are sleeping at my house tonight, otherwise you can watch Minato go nuts and send you to the psych ward."

Well, no arguments there.
