Now where to get started..

If you are a ninja, and you wake up in an uncharted place, you will be on your guard immediately.

And Tamaki Nohara (albeit a retired ninja) did exactly that.

Only to stumble onto her fūton again.

"Oh! Tamaki-san, you have recovered." Sakura exclaimed with glee.

"See! I told you it would work! Now pay up dattebayo!" said Naruto.

"Hn" Sasuke nonchalantly handed over 20 Ryo to his teammate.

This exchange led the two females in the room to sweatdrop.

Confused, the older woman asked, "How long was I out? What is the time?"

Sakura replied, "Nah, just two hours... It's like 11 if you want we can come back tomorrow, but I think it is better we finish our job today"

"I stand by that, Sakura"

Everyone turned to look at the familiar new voice.

"Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto and Sakura chorused.

"Well, I can go get the key, and we can try exposure therapy~" Kakashi eye smiled.

Tamaki shrugged, "Do it. Now I would love to help you guys, but my husband and doctor are going to talk me to death if I don't go to bed this moment. Besides, I think you know more about Rin-chan's room, Kakashi-kun" she said, amusement sparkling in her eyes.

Kakashi rubbed the back of his head sheepishly

Team 7, was confounded once again, as their sensei and Tamaki-san chatted away like old friends.

What? Do you blame them? foreboding was an often emotion even for newly minted gennin.

"Well then, oyasumi Tamaki-oba. We will probably be done by dawn. See you around."

With that, she went to her room downstairs, wishing them luck.

'Luck?' Sakura thought, 'why on earth do we need 'luck' to move around a few boxes?'

Then, her sensei pulled out a long, slightly rusted, metal key from his pocket.

Recognizing the key, Sakura silently mused 'I don't get it, there sure is a lot we are being kept in the dark from here'

However, despite the rigidity that had been hanging in the air along with unspoken words and trepidation, Team 7 silently followed their sensei upstairs.

The trio watched in anticipation as the silver head made a balmy action of sliding in the shaped metal into the keyhole, and turning it with trembling hands.

The gyrate proved quite fruitful, as soon a soft, almost inaudible click was heard thereafter.

With a minimal impale to the static teak door, it once again pivoted on now rusty hinges fabricating a creak.

As the door was pushed away for what lay after, they were rewarded with the sight of what looked like a normal bedroom, albeit quiet dusty for the rather absences of any occupants for the better part of the past two decades.

Naruto felt weak at his knees, and his teeth chattered, he inadvertently spluttered incoherent sentences, before exclaiming, "Haunted! This place is haunted I say!! Guys, it's not too late to turn back, we should get out of here while we can!"

"Hn. A mission is a mission, Dobe" Sasuke shoved his hands into his pockets nonchalantly. While he would rather die than admit it to himself, this place did give him the chills.

Sakura, in an attempt to shake off her sense of feasibility than to chide Naruto, gave a punch to the said teammate, "Naruto!! There are no such things as ghosts! Stop annoying us!!"

Kakashi, momentarily forgetting the flippant kids behind him, made a few weak steps past the doorframe, and for a fraction of a second, he suddenly felt very close to Rin.

But the magic vanished just as soon as it came. He slightly shuddered and trying to shake the feeling off.

As their eyes adjusted to the darkness, Team 7 soon saw less of a mystifying and surreal affair and more of a staid chore.

Kakashi found his way tumbling in the dark, as he felt the light switched and turned it on.

As the cremè walls, pastel purple curtains, and a somewhat well-kept restraint desk came into view,  Sakura could tell the person who once lived there wasn't very much into decor, but the room looked pretty nevertheless.

Naruto silently scoured the room, the odd thing was in an eerie ghastly way, the room still had more life than his apartment. It was just something in the atmosphere.

Sasuke, while having similar thoughts to his blonde teammate, also noted that despite the odd aura the room had given, it sure did have a rather thick layer of dust.

Kakashi observed his genin's reactions, slightly shaking his head in mild amusement he stepped out to get the dustpan, cloth, and broom.

"Hn. Haunted indeed." sneered Sasuke, who regretted staying up the past three days plotting revenge.

But he immediately regretted his jeering tone when Kakashi shut the door behind them the current going out a few seconds after.

"NARUTO!! GET OFF ME!!!"

"GAH! I SEEN THIS MOVIE BEFORE! AND WE WON'T MAKE IT TO THE END!!"

Sasuke stood there, frozen in the dark, contemplating whether a mini-fireball would be a bad idea.

But before he could possibly reach a conclusion or execute his queer thoughts, thankfully the lights came back on.

Sasuke sighed. Forget about the morning, at this rate they probably would be stuck there unable to complete this lame chore till they were all old and gay.

Motivated by the awkward notion, for the next hour the duckhead diligently chased away dust bunnies and put stuff in boxes, while also trying to minimize the other squabbles

That was of course until Naruto happened to find dear Rin's weapon pouch.

"Woah! Check it out guys, they had some pretty sick stuff way back then..." He carefully emptied the contents of the pouch on the newly dusted desk.

Sasuke, just as to take a break from the excruciating task of lifting all those boxes hurried over to Naruto's side.

"Naruto, you better be careful with that, you don't want to get hurt.." Sakura snickered.

Naruto had tuned out the world in favor of the extremely shiny, spotless surface of the kunai, in a pristine condition better than his current set of weaponry.

But the magic, as well as the cursory trance, ended soon as he slid his finger across the sharp blade and red drops fell from suntanned hand.

"AAHH!!! BLOOD!! SOMEONE HELP!!!" he shouted, panicking and pacing across the room with a few stray drops of blood falling onto the many surfaces in the room.

"Sakura...get the first aid kit..." said Sasuke controlled and calmly.

She nodded and took just a few steps to the door when it happened.

The door slammed shut.

On its own.

The lights in the room started flickering...eventually, the only source that dimly lit the small room was the natural moonlight that flooded into the dusty marme.

Naruto, who had all but forgotten about this bleeding hand froze in fear.

Sakura inched closer to her teammates, while Sasuke reached out for his kunai, well knowing any enemies made here won't be hurt by him.

Slowly, dusty mist swept into the room, flooding from the rooftop and settling right in front of the trio.

The smoke formed a trace figure, who as they would later find out, was the god of death, none other than, Shinigami.

When Sasuke finally gathered courage enough to speak from the present nightmares, he said shakily...

"Who here agrees we should have babysat tonight instead?"
