Felix's POV
~~~~
I snuck past the guards in the castle. I slowly, but surely got to the room where my dad held the other sea crystal. I found an old sea crystal in my room and replaced it for the new one. Then I swam to the wall and made my way outside. I was just swimming around in the ocean, trying to find Sean. My dad would kill me if he found out that I let Sean out. I needed to find him as soon as possible.
Sean's POV
~~~~
Mark and I slept in his bed together. To be honest I liked being a human. I did miss Felix, but I liked it a lot to be able to see the human world and have Mark throughout this whole thing. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a kiss to my neck. I smiled and turned to face Mark. He pecked my lips.

"Y'know, it's only the second day and I already have you. I didn't think it'd be this easy." He said with a smile on his face.

"I guess I am pretty naive. I fall to everything. First the man who gave me the potion, now you. None of it was bad, but one day something will be bad and it'll ruin me. I am so stupid." I said truthfully.

"You're not stupid. Stop doing that to yourself. You're worth way more than you think." He comforted. "But Sean, what do you say we go to the beach and you go and try to find your sea crystal?" He then asked. My face lit up.

"I'd actually love that." I said with a smile on my face. We laid in bed for a few more minutes before we got out, got dressed and went to the beach.

"Okay, are you ready?" Mark asked and I nodded. "So first, when the shark chased you, where did you swim?" He then asked. I thought about it.

"Well, I went from the walls and I know I held it all the way to the... oh, tha cave! That's probably where I left it!" I exclaimed and got ready to jump in.

"Well, do you know where the cave is?" He asked and I nodded.

"Oh, but could you just give me some of your hair? I need to give it to that man who gave me the potion." I requested and he cut some of his hair off. I then said goodbye and jumped in. I swam towards where the cave is and then I ran into the man I was looking for.

"Oh, you're back already?" He asked.

"Well, here's your hair." I said as I handed him the hair. "But can I ask you something?" I asked and he nodded. "How long can I be human for?"

"Just today. But I could give you another potion. I mean, you did bring me a lot of hair. Way more than I need." He suggested.

"But could it be forever?" I asked and he sighed, but then handed me another potion. "Thank you." I thanked him and we went our seperate ways. Soon I found the cave and heard quiet sobs coming from it. Soon I entered and saw someone laying on the ground, crying. It was Felix! "Felix?" I called his name and he turned to me. As soon as he saw me he wiped his tears away, swam towards me and hugged me.

"Sean. I found the sea crystal here and thought you dropped it right before the shark ate you. I thought I lost you. Forever. Let's go back to the kingdom and we'll forget this ever happened." Felix suggested and I shook my head.

"I can't. On the surface I met a boy. And I can't leave him." I said and Felix's eyes widened.

"Humans are dangerous. He can sell you to someone for money. He can kill you for his pleasure. You can't trust him. Humans are never supposed to find out there are mermaids." He said.

"But I can trust him. He knows I'm a mermaid. And he said he'd never sell me. I know I can trust him. We kissed. I love him. And I got this potion to become a human forever. And I am gonna drink it." I said and Felix gasped.

"Sean, you wouldn't." He started.

"I would. And I already did. But Felix don't worry, when I get wet I do become a mermaid. I can still come visit you. Just understand that I want that. And I know what I'm doing." I said and he raised an eyebrow.

"Sean, you never know what you're doing." Felix kept trying to get me to come with him.

"But this time I do. Just trust me." I said, took one of the sea crystals and tried swimmimg away, but Felix didn't let go of the crystal.

"You can't take this with you. We need both of them." He said, his voice cold and emotionless.

"Does that mean I can't ever go back into the kingdom?" I asked and he nodded. "But why, Felix?"

"Come with me now or never." He said, his voice still cold. I stepped away from him and a tear escaped my eyes.

"Felix. Please understand me." I begged and he looked away. "Why are you like this?" I wondered.

"Because I want you to come with me, Sean. I don't know if you can trust him." He said.

"I assure you I can trust him. You can go meet him, but if you're willing to risk getting scales all over your body. Whenever a mermaid goes above the surface they get scales." I explained.

"Well, why do you not have them?" He asked.

"Because I can turn into a human on land." I explained and his mouth formed and 'o' shape.

"Well, I'm willing to risk getting scales to meet him. I wanna make sure he's trustworthy." He said.

"But the scales are not pretty. I had them too. I know what they look like. And you can't get rid of them. Unless if you wanna drink a bit of this potion that turns you into a human." I suggested and he nodded. Then we swam to the surface and Felix got scales.

"Sean." Mark said and kissed me. "Who's this?" Mark asked, pointing to Felix.

"That's Felix, my best friend. He's the prince." I said and Mark smiled.

"So you found him." Mark said with a wide smile. Then I gave Felix the potion and he drank half of it. Then I drank the other half. Soon Felix's scales disappeared and Mark gave him extra clothing to put on when he gets out of the water. I then got out and hugged Mark.

"See Felix? Mark's trustworthy." I said.

"Oh, so that's why he's here. To see if you can trust me. Listen Felix, I know that humans are cruel, but I love Sean. And I'd never give him away. Or any of his friends. And I'd never let anyone do anything to him." He said truthfully. Felix sighed and then spoke up.

"I-I... okay. I think you're trustworthy. But let me tell you one thing: if you ever think about doing something with Sean, I'll kill you myself." Felix threatened and Mark held tighter onto me. "But now I have to go back. Sean, I'll come by." He said and waved goodbye. Mark and I waved back as he disappeared into the ocean. As soon as he was gone Mark turned to me, our eyes locking.

"I promise you I won't let anyone hurt you. I'll protect you with my life, Sean." Mark promised as he rested his forehead against mine.

"I know." I whispered and connected our lips for a quick peck.
