Sean's POV

He handed me the potion. "But you need to bring me human hair in return." He added and I nodded. "Drink this when you get to the surface. Otherwise you'll drown." He added. I just held the potion in my hands and watched him swim away. I wondered how he got outside of the kingdom walls. Then I spoke up.

"How did you get outside of the kingdom walls?" I asked. He turned to me.

"I have my ways." He answered with an evil grin in his face. I was slightly scared of him.

"W-What's your name?" I asked.

"Uh, Derek. Why do you care?" He replied, confused.

"Just wanted to know." I said and laughed dryly. He then swam away. I looked up and Mark wasn't talking to that man anymore. But I didn't see him either. I still decided to swim up to check. As I got up I saw him walking away. "Mark!" I called his name and he turned around and jogged towards me.

"I told you to stay underwater. It's not safe, Sean. And I really don't want anything to happen to you." He said as he crouched down in front of me.

"But I have this." I said as I pulled the potion out. "It'll turn me into a human so I can meet other humans." I said with a smile.

"Where did you get that?" He asked.

"A man gave it to me. And in return I just need to bring him human hair. I don't know for what, but I don't care." I explained, hoping he'd understand.

"Do you really trust that guy over me?" He wondered. I shook my head.

"Of course I trust you more, Mark. But he seemed nice." I said with a smile. Then I drank the potion. Soon I started getting dizzy and then everything went black.

Mark's POV

What is happening? A mermaid just drank a potion and went unconcious in front of me. Now could be my chance to turn him in, but he really is nice. And he's cute. All of a sudden he lost his tail and got legs. He was naked! I felt my cheeks started to burn as I quickly pulled out an extra pair of pants, a t-shirt and shoes out of my bag and put it on him.

I then picked him up and carried him to a little cave and lit a fire. He was freezing. I simply waited for him to wake up. Why didn't I just turn him in and I wouldn't be dealing with any of this. But I had to be nice. I just had to talk to him. And he just had to be so cute and irresistible. I just felt bad for him. He's so clueless and helpless. I felt like I had to help him. Then he woke up.

"Mark?" He called my name. Just his voice made me feel all warm inside. "You're still here." He said and smiled widely.

"Of course. Why would I leave you?" I wondered, confused by the words he said.

"Well, I thought you'd leave because I'm pretty dumb. And stupid." He said in a sad tone. I shook my head.

"No, you're not dumb. You're just clueless." I comforted.

"Still as bad." He continued.

"Oh, and you have legs. And I put some clothes on you because you can't walk around naked." I said and laughed. Then I stood up and helped him up as well. "Try to walk. Left foot, right foot. I'll hold you the whole time. I'm right here." I comforted as he slowly took steps. "See, you can do it." I smiled widely at him. Soon he took steps on his own. He did still fall a few times, but he was a quick learner. When we sat down he cuddled up next to me. I held him close. Then he looked at me.

"I miss Felix. I miss my friends in the kingdom. I miss the kingdom." He said and I looked at him, confused.

"You live in a kingdom? Underwater?" I wondered and he nodded. "And who's Felix?" I asked as I rubbed his arm. It didn't have scales. It was kind of... weird. His skin was smooth. It was perfect. It was probably never damaged.

"Felix is my best friend. He's the king's son." He answered. I was surprised. He was friends with the prince of the kingdom. Wherever it is.

"Then why did you leave?" I asked him.

"Well, you can only exit or enter through the kingdom walls with the sea crystal. And only the royals of the kingdom have it. And Felix gave me his to go through and see how it is. And then a shark attacked me. And I got lost." He explained. But all I could think about was, was the sea crystal. It must be worth a lot of money.

"Do you have the crystal?" I asked. He nodded. "Can you show it to me?" I asked after that. He looked through his pockets and every part of his body.

"I dropped it somewhere." He said and started to panic. Perfect. Now I can't even sell the crystal. "And that's my only way back into the kingdom." He panicked and I hugged him.

"I'm sure you'll find it. You'll retrace your steps and you'll find it in no time." I said. I do like Sean, but he's fucking dumb. The one thing I could've sold he dropped somewhere.

"I hope." He simply said. And then we just sat there in front of the fire, cuddling in silence. When suddenly he spoke up. "Mark, you're really nice to me. Well, why?" He asked curiously, his head still resting against my chest.

"Well, because you're nice to me." I simply replied.

"And you wouldn't sell me to other people, would you?" He then asked. That was a complicated question.

"You want me to be honest?" I asked and he nodded. "I don't have a lot of money and when I saw you in the ocean I really did wanna sell you because you're a mermaid." I started and his expression changed from relaxed to scared. I lightly smiled at him, cupped his cheek and rubbed it with my thumb. How could I sell him? "But then you saved me from drowning and we talked for a bit and I just couldn't bring myself to do that to you after that." He then relaxed again. "And when you went back into the sea I was really sad because I did think I'll never see you again. But here you are now and you have legs. No one would suspect that you're a mermaid." I confessed and he grabbed me tighter. He was just the cutest person I've ever met. Then I saw someone stand in front of us. It was Cedric.

"Mark, you're gay? And who the fuck is this?" He got angry. Cedric's my older brother.

"So what if I am? And this is Sean." I got angry as well. Cedric rolled his eyes.

"Pop said to come home." He said and walked away. "As quick as possible." He added before he disappeared behind the stone.

"No one can know you're a mermaid, Sean. Do you understand? Here you're a human. Forget you were ever a mermaid. Unless you're just with me. No one can know. I don't want them to hurt you." I whispered in Sean's ear and he nodded.

"I'm a human." He repeated and I smiled at him. He was just so cute. Then I stood up and helped him up as well. Then I helped him all the way to my house.
