Antidote

Sean's POV

I slammed him against the stone again. Soon I noticed blood floating in the water. Something was stabbing his back. He whimpered.

"Are you gonna tell me before I really kill you?" I threatened him.

"F-Fine." He said, his voice barely loud enough for me to hear. "Th-The antidote is in my hideout." He confessed. I was getting annoyed of him only saying what he wants.

"Where. Is it?" I asked, annoyed.

"It's at the crystal cave." He said and closed his eyes. He wasn't breathing. I pulled him away from the stone and noticed that there was a very sharp spike on that stone. Then I looked at his back and saw a little hole in his back. I just killed him. But at least he provided information before he died. Now I just have to figure out where the hell this crystal cave is.

Mark's POV

I walked outside of my house. I decided to take one final walk along the beach. Sean was working his ass of for nothing. I was gonna be put in a cage at any minute.

"There he is! Get him!" I heard a man yell. I looked behind me and saw about 10 men running towards me. Then I saw Cedric in the distance. He was just standing there. When he saw me looking at him, he started running towards me.

"Stop!" He yelled. The men just stood in place, confused.

"I thought you wanted to have him locked up." One man said.

"I need to have a talk with him first." He said. Then he led me away and we walked along the beach.

"So you did betray me." I said, full of bitterness.

"I did it to protect you. To protect myself. And to protect Sean. You hurt him." Cedric said. I was so angry I could kill someone.

"I know I did. But how the hell is locking me up protecting me?! Can you explain that?!" I shouted at him.

"You'll be safe. But now tell me where Sean is. It's weird that you weren't worried even in the slightest about him when I said he's in water. Are you hiding something?" He then asked. I got nervous.

"I-I... no. I won't tell you anything." I said, confident.

"So you're trying to hide the fact that you've been hiding the most expensive thing ever for almost two months? Huh?" He kept interogating me. "Let me ask you something. Is Sean a mermaid? The ones that were supposed to be extinct? Mark, you knew you just put him in danger, right? You risked getting him taken away. You know that, right?" Cedric said. I nodded.

"But I love him. I would never want anything to happen to him. He's trying to find the cure for whatever is happening to me. Do you see the ocean? Look at it! The water is going black! I touched the black and this happened! Please, Cedric, you have to help me. Or if you still want to lock me up, just please promise me one thing. Protect Sean for me. He needs all the help he can get on land. He lived underwater his whole life. Please, Cedric." I pleaded. I just wanted Sean to be safe.

"I don't know, Mark. When you're gone I've got no obstacles between me and a lot of money. I only have to wait for Sean to come out of the water and sell him to someone." He said and grinned evily. I knew I shouldn't have trusted Cedric. God damnit.

"Please, Cedric don't do that." I pleaded, but then he raised his hand. Soon I heard the men running towards me. "Cedric, please stop them. Please! I'm not a monster!" I begged for him to have a heart, but then I felt a rush of adrenaline go through my body. I felt myself changing. My vision became red and my teeth were sharp, just like the ones wolfves have. I could only see red. I wanted everyone dead. I attacked the men.

"He's really a monster!" One of them shouted.

"Let's lock him up!" Another one chimed in. I started attacking them one by one, but was still aware of the rest and I was ready to attack. They came at me with spikes and I skillfully dodged every single one. What happened to me? I managed to beat them all, but I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to kill everyone.

Sean's POV

I don't know how much time I have left, but I need to find this crystal cave. I've heard of it before. It's at the dark end of the ocean. And I knew I was getting close to that. And then when I swam a bit further I saw it. Everything was black. Except for the blue shine coming from the crystal cave. I swam in there and looked for his hideout. Then I found a corner full of potions. They thankfully had labels. I looked through all of them and soon enough I found the antidote.

"Sean, what are you doing here? Why are you outside of kingdom walls?" A male voice spoke behind me. I turned around and was shocked at who I saw.

"Your majesty? W-What are you doing here?" I questioned. He was telling everyone to never leave the kingdom walls, but then he goes ahead and does the thing he forbid everyone to do.

"I-I was looking for Derek. I want him back. I need him back." He said and I felt a terrible pain in my stomach. "What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I-I haven't been to the kingdom for more than a month. I was living with humans. And I met a boy. And Derek put a horrible spell on him and now I want to save him." I said and he had an angry look on his face.

"No. Humans are heartless and not worth being saved. Let him die. Let him be. He would've betrayed you anyways someday. You're coming with me and Derek." He said.

"About that. I accidentally killed Derek. I was angry." I said and the king firmly grabbed my arms.

"You did what? Who is supposed to stop this hell now?" The king asked.

"Derek did that because he wanted revenge on you. This is your fault! You kicked him out of the kingdom just because you were jelaous!" I fought back. I never thought I'd have to fight with the king. But here I am. Then I broke out of his hold and swam away. On my way to the shore I always let a bit of the antidote in the water so the black smoke would disappear. And it seemed to be working. Then I finally made it to the shore and I saw feet waiting for me. I was hoping it was Mark, but when I looked up I saw Cedric's face. I fucked up.
