-3 days before prom-

I got a phone call from an unknown number.

I answered the phone and there was a woman speaking.

"Hello?"

"Is this Scott?"

"Yes"

"This is Shelby's mom"

"..."

"Is Shelby dating anyone in school?"

"Yeah... This guy named Ross"

"Well, I wouldn't blame her... She doesn't even know they're cousins"

"Wait What!?"

"Shoot! Forget I ever said anything! Don't tell Shelby or Ross!"

"Wait! How do they not know?"

She sighed

"When Shelby was 1 her father left. Her father was Ross's uncle. I never told her any of this because I don't want her knowing that her dad is actually her step dad"

"..."

"Please don't tell them anything... My daughter is hurt already... Bye now"

She hung up the phone and I'm shocked. Shelby never knew her real father.

Well this is just sad.

~After they got home~

We all landed in the lab we came from.

That was definitely a memorable adventure.

But I have to tell the secret to at least anyone.

"Well, this was fun and traumatic at the same time. Let's get this armor back so I can go home"

"I don't know what to say about what ever happened but I can say it was amazing"

They got in the car and went back to the armory.

After that they each went home with me and Jess remaining.

"Jess, there's something I need to tell you"

"Go ahead, I've got time"

"Well, first of all, PLEASE DON'T BE MAD AT ME FOR KEEPING THIS A SECRET! I ONLY KNEW 3 DAYS AGO"

"It involves Ross, Shelby and their family"

"ARE THEY SOME SORT OF NEMESIS WITH EACH OTHER?"

"Well, sorta... They- they-"

"Well, they are what?"

"What do you mean their related?"

"Remember the arranged marriage Shelby was in? Well it was all planned. Shelby's father is actually her step father. Shelby's real dad is the uncle of Ross. Ross is Shelby's cousin"

Jess looked at me shocked.

"I didn't expect this... And no offense, coming from you...

"Well, Shelby's mom called me. I don't even know how she got my number"

"Ok well, are you gonna tell Shelby?"

"I guess I should. I just needed to tell someone before I tell Shelby"

Just then we heard clanking then whispers.

"Aw dangit!"

We looked to see Ross and Shelby.

"Heyyyyyyyyyy guys... We have chips!" Shelby said awkwardly as she raised a bag of potatoes

"You heard didn't you?" Jess said.

"How much did you hear?" I asked.

"Oh look! It's time to go home! Bye guys!" Ross said as he ran.

"Hehe... Gotta go!" Shelby said as she ran
