A week past since Buggy left. And poor Ruby was being tormented by Arlong. He was trying to get to her since now Buggy was out of the picture. "You know....you were the only girl he ever looked at the way he did to you," Arlong laughed, "it's ironic that when the fool fell in love, you drove him away with your fear. That's because you're a weak little girl."

Then Rudy on the other hand was trying to be more nice to her though. It was as if he was afraid Buggy was Satan and would return to punish him if he treated Ruby too unkindly. He wanted Ruby to give him another chance, and said he could help her get over the pirate clown.

Ruby refused to go back to Rudy. He let him go long before Buggy came. She was now alone by the lake sitting on the dock alone. Crying. She now was even scared because Arlong came to her.

"I always knew it would end this way. You becoming mine," he smiled, "I can help you break your curse."

"...no..no you can't...," Ruby looked away from him. Even what Arlong said about Buggy was true, she could not trust him. He was just trying to get to her.

"How will you know if you don't try? You're a siren. I'm a fish man. That makes us the ideal match. Your curse is having to hide away and not embrace your true nature. You try to fit in with the humans and it doesn't work. You could leave all this behind and start over. In a whole different world."

"....," he seemed to be right. Her own mother didn't care about her or her father. And she was afraid of showing her true form to everyone, including her family for what Gypsy Dove did to her. She then dropped her head, tearing up. She then cried softly.

"I think you'll find once you embrace what you truly are, you'll find peace you couldn't find in the human world," Arlong said, "don't be afraid. Fear is what makes people see us as monsters."

"But...how will you get back home? Gypsy Dove didn't say anything how you would. Only...the clown could do it."

"Who said anything about going back home? We could make a new home here. We'll find our own island and in time all the other sirens and fish men will join us. The humans won't even know we exist. And the clown can have the East blue all for himself once he gets back there."

"...," Ruby then nodded. She felt so unsafe, but she wanted to leave.
