Am I the only one who struggles with cultural fashion? Because I'm part Guyanese and have Indian and Sri Lankan heritage.

But I kind of just look like a regular brown girl, and I don't really feel like explaining to people that it's not cultural appropriation. I do have Indian heritage.  I don't wear sarees, and I never have, but I thought it would be nice to try.

Maybe not full-on, but perhaps some accessories instead. 

Sometimes I'll say something like : Oh, sarees are way too much to wear, all those layers, it is too much. 

And then I'll be like: I WANT ALL OF THEM IN EVERY COLOUR! NO, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY! BUT I WANT THEM ANYWAY!

Are these not the most beautiful things in existence? I just wished I looked a tiny bit more Desi, so I could wear these without people asking questions and giving me a weird look like I'm stealing their culture. It's my culture too.
