Taylor's Biomechanisms

Alright, so, it came to mind a little while ago that Taylor's biomechanics are not very thoroughly explained in the Guardians series. The fact that Silas has altered her is just kinda thrown out there in Guardians, and it continues to be "brought up" in a sense as the story goes. It's all leading somewhere, trust me, BUT.

A few people HAVE asked how this and that works from time to time, and while I have done my best to explain in bits and pieces, I thought that it would be a good idea to explain it the best I can in order of how things actually happened.

Now, before I get into it, keep in mind that I am NOT a scientist, mechanic, or anything of the kind XD. Some of my explanations still may be a bit confusing, or not scientifically sound or something. If so, and you know a better solution that would make more sense for a specific part, PLEASE tell me! I can alter it if it really does help make more sense. I seriously don't mind!

Now we can begin XD:

As most of you know at this point, Silas is Taylor's father. (For those of you who didn't know, sorry... you would have found out eventually.) He married Taylor's mother during the time that he was still in the army, but at that time, he was starting to become a founding member of MECH, which had yet to be COMPLETLEY brought together. He did not tell her anything about the organization he was forming or the ideas and plots that he had about melding man and machine.

When he learned that his wife was pregnant, he began preparing.

I have a headcanon that Silas found ancient Cybertronian parts, and even Energon long before he met the Autobots. Think about it. He never acted truly surprised that they existed, simply saying that "the rumors ARE true". Those "rumors" had to have been going around long enough for him to take notice of it. However, both Autobot and Decepticon had been very low previously. (I noticed this when Ratchet said "the first Decepticon activity in three years.") This could mean that the Autobots and Decepticons have been there LONGER than three years, but have been quiet lately. Which would also mean that those rumors would have to be around a long time. I think Silas already had an idea about them. Also, think about this. He was not necessarily surprised in any way when Starscream began talking about Energon and how it was their life source. He only allowed Starscream to explain how it worked, because he didn't know himself. This leads me to believe that he had already found Energon before, but because he barely knew anything about Cybertronians and how they worked, he could not find the proper use for it and discarded it later on.

All in all, I believe that Silas already already knew about Cybertronian mechanics before he even met the Autobots and Decepticons. Just did not know enough to accomplish his goals, which is why he became more active and prominent when they did.

SO, with that being said, I believe he already had his hands on some Cybertronian biomechanisms. (If the Autobots found areas where Cybertronian battles had been waged ages ago, why couldn't he?) Again, once he learned his wife was pregnant, he began preparing. He thought it would be start with a test subject that was young and could grown into his experiments. He began constructing nanobots that would slowly alter her body to grown accustomed to certain biomechanics that he would implant later on in her life. Shortly after Taylor was born, he injected those nanobots into her, without telling anyone.

When Taylor was a year old, her mother went on a beach trip with some of her girl buddies. During that time, Silas was supposed to stay home and watch over her. However, what he actually did was bring her into one of his early labs and begin some of his experiments on her, accompanied by early members of MECH. As the year prior had passed, he had prepared some small biomechanisms that were made so that they would merge with the nanobots in her body and grow as she grew. They would not alter any of her day to day things, like they do once she has fuel (Energon) in the series, simply because he thought it was too early for such a stage, and did not want to lose all of the progress he had made in her already.

However, Taylor's mom returned home early, and when she didn't find her husband or her daughter at home, she frantically began searching for them. A friend told her where she had last seen them going, and after searching for several hours, she miraculously stumbled across his lab and found out what he was doing to their daughter. It was not long before she cut all ties from her husband, in order to keep her daughter safe. It was around the same time that he was stripped of his title in the military as well and went rogue.

Unbeknownst to Taylor as she grew older, she had metals growing in her body and merging with her flesh. Her mother did not necessarily know either, not having been able to convince Silas to tell her. She had brought Taylor to the hospital for a scan, but it had come up empty, and with her husband now out of their lives, she did not have enough money to continue to check up on her.

When Taylor was six, she supposedly was picked up by a friend for a check-up while her mom was working. Things had been quiet, so her mother started to get more relaxed. However, the friend was really working for Silas, and he brought Taylor to another lab. They worked hastily there, trying to run some tests and learn where they could go from what they had. Her metals and biomechanisms had grown strong and healthy, but they had no idea how to get them running. They gave her another injection of nanobots to help the biomechanisms upgrade and grow so that they would be prepared when MECH did find the right fuel to use them. At this point, Silas had also learned about the transforming qualities of Cybertronian biomechanics (tho he did not know it was Cybertronian at the time) and planned a time where he could do surgery for such accomplishments.

Taylor was returned home on time, and her mother never knew what had happened. Taylor was too young to really know the difference, and was a quiet child even when she was little.

When Taylor was thirteen, she witnessed a murder. (She does not remember much of it because the emotional backlash she was having was so abrupt and horrible, her brain forcefully shoved the memory away. She only remembers that she witnessed something bad, but can't recall what very well.) A former member of MECH had tried to warn her about what Silas was doing to her, but a full-time member silenced him. Seeing the opportunity, he chased after her in an attempt to kidnap her. She ran, but was eventually caught when the MECH member called for backup.

It was then that she was tested on again, but this time, most of the attempts failed. They did give her a few upgrades, such as her tanks that were supposed to hold the fuel and a few weapons based off some designs that Silas had found on the dead Cybertronians. However, because they did not know much about Energon, they did not know that that was the fuel they needed for her, so all other attempts failed. She eventually was allowed to escape so they could further their research.

Because of this, Taylor lost all of her friends from school (most thought she had been raped and avoided her out of disgust or fear that they would be targeted as well), and Taylor's family had already abandoned her and her mother because of their ties with Silas. (Her mom's side of the family all disagreed with the marriage and left her alone after they wed, completely. Silas' side of the family always stayed distant.)

In Guardians, when she was kidnapped, Silas and MECH now had a better understanding of Cybertronian biomechanisms, and more importantly Energon (in my book they learned more about it before Starscream came to them), and were able to get everything working once they injected her with it and altered some things. They were able to get her weapons, tanks, and "veins" working.

Taylor has a few "veins" in her body, mostly up her arms and her legs, to help her move faster and handle her weapons. Still, something was missing, and they knew it, too.

The second time Taylor was taken, she was given a spark, thanks to Starscream. This helped her Energon flow stay strong and her biomechanisms work more fluidly. However, because it was a dying spark (Starscream killed the Con before taking it), it was not going to hold her for long, although they did not know that. MECH was unable to get ahold of her again.

Taylor's weapons grew over time from a young age. Her arms hold a metal that works almost like a liquid. When the brain and spark sends the right urges, the flesh makes way for the blade to grow out of her arm. Her arm is more metal and biomechanics than flesh. Her blasters are more complicated. Her spark and tanks have to work extra hard to make enough energy for the Energon blasts. It also takes a lot of energy to transform them. The "liquid" once again melds into a blaster form, and the skin actually melds with it instead of making way for the blaster.

When Taylor was captured by the Decepticons, Shockwave was mostly just running tests on her, opening her up and figuring out how she worked, since he had never (as far as I know) come across a techno-organic before. He learned that her spark was dying and ran more tests, experimenting to see if he could jump start it or give her a new one. She was rescued before he could do much.

Later, when Ratchet realized that her spark was dying, he gave her a very dangerous and hard surgery, taking a piece of his own spark and implanting it into her. (Fun facts: He had to have help from the other bots and June Darby. Also, she flat-lined for a solid 15 seconds, which scared the scrap out of Ratchet.)

I believe that is as far as her biomechanical info goes so far.. I may update this later, who knows.

I hope this has helped some of you guys understand her better!
