Students were chatting amongst themselves as they talked about stuff other than the new student they were gonna meet as Crowler was getting pissed off and most students talked about the eyepatch Crowler wore because of the raven that poked his eye hard as he slammed his fist down making the students quiet and flinch at the sound.

“EVERYONE SETTLE DOWN OR DETENTION!!” He shouted before clearing his throat and everyone got a chill from him. “Now, let’s welcome our new student and welcome her with open arms to the academy, Miss Akemi, you can come in now, don’t be shy.” He said as the door opened to reveal Homura walking into the classroom all calm and collected as the students were fascinated with the new girl as she stopped and looked at them.

“My name is Homura Akemi, it’s nice to meet you all.” She said with a small smile as the students remained quiet as she wrote her name on the chalkboard in kanji before taking her seat next to Jesse and Adrian, the rude rich boy from the boat, as the red head smiled and introduced himself to her but she wasn’t interested in him.

“So, I’m planning a party and I was wondering if you wanna come down and enjoy it new girl.” Adrian said in a nice flirty tone as Homura tried to remember the times she last had fun but this was her time to have fun and not be the cold girl she once was as she had no choice but to agree.

“Great, I’ll send an invite to you! See you there new girl.” He said with a smile as Jesse knew the look on Homura’s face. “Hey, no need to feel embarrassed, I’m sure you went to parties before.” He said patting her back before she answered. 

“Nope.” She said as Jesse looked shocked at her. “You’ve never been to parties before?” He asked as Homura nodded before Jesse realized why, because of saving her friend from the horrible fate she suffered through just to stop the powerful witch of all, Walpurgisnaucht.

“I guess it wouldn’t hurt to go there.” She said in a low tone before tying the ribbon back in place as it was slipping out before heading to the dueling arena and sat down in one of the seats to see some students dueling and she stayed to watch as the duel was over in a draw as she got up and flipped her hair off of her shoulder before she was called to grab her uniform which the shirt was a little bit long than her old skirt.

Homura liked the blue uniform as she was lead to her dorm as she looked to see how large and fancy it was before thanking the student who led her there before closing the door and the shades as she held out her soul gem to see how bright it gleamed before a knock was on the door as she willed it away into a ring and opened the shades.

“It’s open.” She said as the door opened to reveal Adrian holding an invite to the party he planned as she gave him a blank look before he handed her the invite as she took it slowly before deciding to clear his throat.

“I kinda heard that you’re quite the singer, maybe just a rumor.” He said as Homura’s eyes widened, it was true, she used to sing until she stopped.

“You want me to sing at the party?” She asked in a low tone as Adrian smiled, Homura hated when he smiled, it made her want to slap that stupid smirk off his face as she huffed before agreeing as he smiled.

That smile...was like looking at Mami Tomoe again…

How she hated that smile….

“Also, you can dress up if you want.” He said before walking away, Homura clenched the invite in her hand as she gripped her hair before slamming the door as the loud noise echoed throughout the long and empty hall as she looked at the closet and saw the black dress she wore when she transformed back to her normal self.

‘I hate this…’ She thought to herself as she closed the shades and dressed into the black thin strap dress and looked at her back to see the black winged tattoo on her back as the wings came out and feathers surrounded her making her look like a fallen angel as she felt the soft feathers before they slipped back when she heard footsteps before someone started knocking.

“In a minute.” She said as she changed out of the dress and into her uniform before walking over and opening the door a bit to see Jim standing outside her door with a smile on his face. “Hello there, there’s an announcement and well, you’re needed there as well as the other students here.” He said as she nodded before walking down the hallway as it echoed with every step they took. 

“Jim…” She called to him not looking at him in the eye as he looked at her. “Yes?” He answered as he looked at her before she asked him a question. “Do you cherish your life and your friends along with the way you live your life?” She asked as he gave a nervous smile and began to answer her question. 

“Of course I do, I reckon you do as well.” He answered as she stopped and turned around to face him. “Good, because no matter what, never change.” She said before walking to the entrance with Jim following her as they made it to the class where Homura stood next to Adrian because she could see Jesse next to Jaden as she heard what was going on before walking up to Viper as she heard what was going to happen since she was new.

Expulsion and survival duels was all she heard but Homura began to suspect what was going on with the survival duels as she looked at the bio band and placed it on her wrist as she winced as it snapped onto her wrist before walking outside to clear her head as she thought through what was going on.

‘Why did Viper look so doubtful when he looked at me? Why?’ She thought as she was snapped out of her daze when she was grabbed by the arm by Hassleberry when she saw that she nearly went off the cliff as she looked down to see quite a drop.

“Thanks, I guess that I was caught up in my thoughts.” She said as he nodded before he looked away with worry before talking. “This ain’t the first time ma’am.” He said as he gestured for her to look down as she looked down to see graves below the school and each with uniforms of the school all stained with dirt and decayed flowers.

“This happened before my first year, and I witnessed it. One girl began walking all funny like she was drunk but my dino DNA told me something else because she didn’t stink of alcohol, I tried to stop her and then she ended up splattered about like a red pancake.” He said as Homura zoned out except for the parts where he described the one thing she knew.

A witch…

There was a witch at Duel Academy and now she had to destroy it as she took a breath and looked at Hassleberry with a smile. “Thank you.” She said as she walked to Duel Academy to get ready to enjoy the party for a bit and destroy the witch.

Homura stood in the crowd looking mad and crossed her arms before hearing someone walk to her as she looked to see Adrian with a smile and a glass with cider in one hand as he began to make some small talk. “You seemed not to be enjoying the party, I kinda want to know why.” He asked with the same sick smile that made her grit her teeth and clench her fist as she let out her breath.

“Nothing, I’m not a party girl and I know what happens at parties.” She said as she flipped her hair before seeing the microphone all set up as Adrian took her wrist as she felt his hand tightened around her wrist. 

“Here’s the new girl, Homura Akemi, going to sing a song for the slow dance everyone.” Adrian said as the couples found a partner to dance with as the music played for her and waited for the right time to sing.

As Homura finished her song, she walked off stage and wiped the tears away before walking to find the witch to take down before realizing that it was flickering as if someone was in there already.

‘But who…’ Her thoughts were interrupted by something piercing through her chest as she gasped and fell to her knees when she looked to see who shot her as she saw...Viper?!

“Why…?” She rasped out as she covered her open wound with her hand as Viper said nothing but clicked the flint down before she transformed and stopped time just as Viper pulled the trigger as she ran to find the labyrinth.

‘Why did Viper shoot me? Is he insane?!’ She thought as she ran into the labyrinth before she saw the most unexpected thing to see.

Axel was in tears and trapped in an illusion of a familiar of his worst memory ever and cried as he was trapped in the illusion he saw of his younger self seeing his own mother dying in front of him in the worst possible deaths other than the explosion.

“Axel...listen to me…” Homura spoke slowly due to the blood loss as she gently held his face and wiped the tears away.

“This is an illusion...you need to snap out of it…” Homura coughed blood out of her mouth as Axel snapped out of it and saw Homura coughing blood as he failed to notice the familiar that took the form of his mother before a bullet killed it as he saw Homura hold a gun in her hand before she vomited blood before striking her chest with her hand and pulled the bullet out before she pulled an AK-47 out of her shield and gave it to him.

“You’re gonna help me and I’ll explain later but first…” She spat out blood before finishing her sentence. “We’re gonna kill this Goddamn witch once and for all!” She said as Axel nodded and followed her like a soldier in battle.

“When we get out, I might as well tell you about who gave me this…” She said removing the top of her outfit to reveal the bullet wound as Axel nodded before taking care of the familiars as Homura managed to help him with it before finishing the witch by summoning her black bow and firing the arrow as it killed the witch.

Axel watched as Homura held the black object to the purple crystal before she fell to her knees and face first as he ran to her.

“HOMURA!!”
