Chapter 2
Reminder: this is rat speech, this is human speech
Let's get started!

The drop was a lot longer then the boy had originally thought it would be. The strange girl he had meet scratched at the air as she tried to straightened herself out whilst falling.
The wind got knocked out of them as they fell, cutting off some of their screams as they were knocked into the sides of the rusty pipe.
Finally the pipe ended, opening up in a flooded room. They fell, the boy being knocked under the surface of horribly disgusting water as the girl fell on him.
He felt himself accidentally gulp a mouthful of the bitter and nasty tasting water, making him feel sick the moment it went down his throat. He tried to swim upwards, breaking the water and gasping for breath. He looked around, before spotting the girl not far from him, splashing frantically.
"What did you do that for!"
"Squeak!"
"Oh, for the love of- go away!"
"Squeak, squeak,"
He swam to a nearby ledge, grabbing and climbing up. She followed him, loudly splashing in the water, before pulling herself up the ledge as well. She was on all fours, shaking her head like a dog.
The boy groaned, more water falling onto him from the cascade of droplets off her bright yellow raincoat. He looked back out to the room ahead of them, seeing more water, furniture and objected floating around. Great, now he was off track and had to swim now... wooo...
He reached down to his jean pocket, pulling a flashlight. With a click, it came to life, lighting his path. The girl gave another small squeak, looking at the torch with interest.
"What? Never seen a flashlight before?" He sneared, before walking across the room. The girl followed him, much to his misfortune. She kept squeaking at him, like she was trying to talk.
"Blueberry! I can call you Blueberry, right? I'm gonna do it anyways no matter what you say. Where are we?"
"Shut up before some monster finds us, go away! Go, get out of here!" Blueberry make a motion with his hands, like he was flicking stuff on his paws. Water splashed onto her cheek, making her jumped back slightly. Her eyes lit up as she realized what he was doing.
"Ooh, you want to play a game? Let's play tag!"
Blueberry looked at her strangely as she got into the play bow, suddenly pouncing and slamming into him. Just as fast as she hit him, she bounced off, grinning brightly.
Blueberry let out a groan of pain, holding his crotch, falling down and curled up on the wet metal flooring. The light thingy rolled away from him, casting a beam further into the dark room.
Six got into a play bow again, digging her claws into the metal, ready for him to bounce up and leap at her. He didn't bounce back as quickly as she thought he would; nor did he uncurl.
"Did I hit you too hard?"
"Squeak sque?"
"I'm going to kill you," he barely groaned. Slowly, the boy sat up, pain still wrecking him. He tried to steady his breath, glaring as he looked at the girl.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" he asked, getting up to his hands and knees.
"Squeak squeak!"
She dropped back into the pouncing stance again, making his hidden blue eyes widen. "No, wait!"
She stopped before she could jump, sitting down and tilting her head like a confused animal. Animal; that's what she reminded him of. Some gross fur demon.
"Leave me alone, I want nothing to do with you, pest," he hissed, getting back to his feet, grabbing the flashlight that had rolled away.
He looked out to where he had to go, nose scrunching as he saw how foggy the water below was. Something was definitely hiding in it, whether it be leeches or some sort of monster. He gave a sigh, taking a running start and jumping into the water. With a loud splash, he started on his way across the room.
Until he heard another splash.
"You motherfu- go away! How many times do I have to tell you!"
The girl paddled forward, climbing onto a set of oil drums. She looked back, before shaking off. She walked on the drums, sitting on the edge of the last one.
He kept swimming, going past her and towards the other room. He pulled himself up onto the ledge of the platform, shaking the water off of his hands and arms. His stomach still felt sick from swallowing the water; but he tried to pay no mind to the coils of dull pain.
The girl still followed him, squeaking the entire way. He didn't pay her any attention, going to a boarded up doorway. A gap could be seen at the top of it, a small smirk on his face.
"That's how I lose you," he muttered, grabbing the boards and climbed up. He was half way up when he glanced down at her. She sat on the ground, looking up at him with a curious look. She looked to the boards at the bottom, before walking over to them, nudging her nose between the wood.
The boy hopped over to the other side, landing on the metal flooring. He straightened himself out, dusting off his jacket for show.
"Sorry, pest, but this is where we part ways. Maybe you won't get ate by-"
He was pushed to the ground, a weight sitting on top of him. He looked around, spotting the raven haired girl out of the corner of his eyes, smiling again with her sharp teeth showing.
"How the hell...?"
He looked back, the boards were still there! Did she squeeze her way? Then again she was as light a feather, so he imagined she was thin under that coat. Where did she even get that raincoat anyways?
"Squeak?"
She got off, looking at him again with that look at said 'are you okay?' No, he was not okay! His back and family jewels hurt from her now, and they still have to get thought this stupid flooded place!
"Hopefully I can get out before I get hungry," he mumbled. He got up to his feet, reluctantly letting the other follow him.
"Hey, Blue, where did you come from?" Six asked, looking at him. He didn't even cast her a glance, or even gave a whisper of a reply. What was his deal?
"Is there more like us? Or are you just a weird rat too? C'mon, I want to know this!" Six bounced slightly as she spoke, trying to get his attention.
Still he didn't answer, once again jumping down into the water. Six groaned slightly, but followed after, going under for a split second before resurfacing. She swam her way through other rooms with him, until they came to a much larger one.
It was incredibly open, more water flooding it. Blueberry looked reluctant this time to get in the water, which Six didn't blame him for.
There was something off. She looked to a corner of the room, towards a pile of trash in the water. Bubbles could be seen, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
"Blue, let's not go in there. We can find another way, there has to-"
Blueberry jumped into the water, raising all alarms in Six's head.
She jumped in with him, grabbing him by his blue fur and dragged him to the oil drums not that far away. He resisted, before they both noticed the bubbles coming towards them.
They hurried to the floating canisters, climbing up as quickly as they could. Once on top, the bubbles stopped, yet the unsettling feeling of dread burned in her belly. She grabbed his blue fur again, dragging him onto the drum right next to them.
Just as she dragged him over, the oil drum they were on was hit, throwing it up high enough to knock them off. Six let go, and looked ahead of them, seeing the nearby platform. They could possibly make it if they were fast enough.
Wasting no time, she splashed into the water, making her way to the other side as quickly as she could. Blueberry joined her, passing her and climbing up to the platform.
He turned back to her, watching the bubbles following them. Six climbed onto the metal floor, being roughly grabbed and pulled forward by Blueberry.
She was flipped over and rolled. A growl was heard, making her jump up to her paws.
She briefly saw a wrinkly, bony hand go down into the water, a dark figure swimming away, bubbles slowly following it. Six blinked her eyes, looking to Blueberry.
"Thanks for that," she muttered, getting back up, shaking her coat again. Her wet fur stuck to her face and and cheeks, but she didn't mind.
Blueberry got up, glancing to her before walking away. She watched him walk away, before he stopped and glanced back to her.
He didn't speak, but she came to his side though, before padding forward to take the lead. She wasn't completely sure where they were, but the faint memory of hearing grandpa Thistle say something about a flooded area underneath them to spark a faint memory. The Depths she believed they were called?
If it was the Depths, it made sense to her. This place was a small ocean it felt like, and the murky water wasn't helping her nerves either.
They continued on and on, swimming as quickly as they could when they got into the water to avoid getting caught by whatever it was underneath them.
Two or three hours passed, Blueberry occasionally making a noise when he looked at her. Six knew he was squeaking in a different language, obviously, but shouldn't he know the basics of Rat?
After a long venture through the areas, the two found themselves in a strange room. They stood on a loft, another across from them, a large hole between the two sides. A bed was off to the side of the wall on the side they were on, a vent that had acted as their entrance just a jump away. Wooden floor boards creaked as she lightly padded off to investigate.
The floor under them on had a large pool of water. Six came to the edge, looking down. The water was murky, but clean enough she could make out details from above. A suitcase was in the water, small random objects on the bottom of it.
Blueberry sat by a wall, supposedly catching his breath. Six looked over to him, coming over to join his side.
"You okay?"
"Squeak?"
The boy groan, looking up at her. "Can't you leave me alone?" He asked.
She didn't say anything, but laid down on her side next to him. Her rubber coat was wet and cold from the water, but she didn't seemed to care.
He sighed loudly, reaching into his jacket pocket, pulling out a small silver rectangle. He opened it, flicking with a wheel until a small flame came to life.
The girl looked up at it curiously, looking up at him. The flame was small, but it was warm. There were no lamps to be lit and there wasn't any trash to be lit ablaze. He set the light next to his side hoping to try and get the chill off of them.
"Guess I never really introduced myself, even if you can't speak English. I'm Seven. You got a name?"
"Squeak,"
"That's not a name, ... I guess I'll call you Squeaks though for the hell of it."
Six looked up at him, confused by what he had said. "Why did you say Sunflower? What's that?"
Blueberry let out a small yawn. "I should get some sleep, I got to continue as soon as I can."
Six didn't understand him, but watched as he slowly stood up, walking to the bed and climbed onto it. She blinked her eyes, before coming over to it. She rested her front paws onto the bedding, readying to climb up. Blueberry suddenly pushed her back, giving a small growl.
"No, stay down, you filthy animal." His snarl wasn't normal, like he was congested. He let out a cough, before laying down on the bed, back turned to her.
The strange rat slowly got down, going back to where they were before. She sat down by the silver rectangle, curling up as she looked at the fire.
He brought a flame into existence. Could she do that too? Was that why the other strange rats were in another place? If so, why was she with the others?
Why did he seem to hate her so much?
She rested her chin on her paws, watching the small flame dance. Eventually, she felt her eyes get heavier and heavier, until she finally curled up and feel asleep, the cold of the Maw chilling her to the bones.

Not a lot of errors, past me, good job. May have over look maybe one or two, but eh.
This chapter only got a different written ending. Before it was Six and Seven cuddled together by the lighter for warmth, but I decided "nah, bro, Seven is a douche until he can get his act to together"
So we now have this ending.
I'm also gonna do a little doodle for the chapter beginnings. So, if you guys have any scene in mind for me to draw, let me know.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed. Don't forget to re-vote and comment if you enjoyed, and I'll see you guys in the next chapter.
Take care!
