edit- its 2020 now and i have a girlfriend.

We have to write a persuasive speech for my class. I got stuck with the topic of gay marriage. Yes I chose it. But now I'm regretting it. *curls up in a corner* I can't take it. We have to be either for or against it.

Yeah ok so I'm Christian/Mormon
And we are taught that man and woman were put on the Earth for a reason. God didn't put man and man. Or woman and woman.
Mmk so that's one reason
Also just because your gay, bi, pan, lesbian, and whatever else is out there doesn't mean I'm going to hate you.
Guys I know some people are just like "OH MY GOSH SHUN HER, KILL HER, DIE YOU FREAK!!!! I CANT BELIEVE YOUR GAY!!!!"
I'm more like
"Oh ok. I don't support that but I'll still care for you and love you."

So while we are picking the topics she pulls my name.
And I hadn't decided so I'm just in my brain like
'Oh shoot! I haven't decided! What am I going to do!'
And then out loud I blurt out
"Gay marriage!"
And, I kid you not, the whole class turns to look at me and it is dead silent.
My teacher looks down and puts gay marriage next to my name.
"For or against?" She asks
Me: "Against."
And the whole class gasps! And stares at me with giant eyes
One of my friends tried to help by saying everyone had a opinion. But I don't think it really helped.
So instead while the class is staring at me with complete silence I get on my knees (on the chair so I'm taller) and I say quite loudly "Yeah I know I'm going to get a lot of hate." And I just sit back down.
Ugg it was really embarrassing.
Anyway what are some of your opinions? I won't hate and hopefully no one else will
Also I know this is a sensitive topic and I'm sorry if I made anyone uncomfortable but I figured I needed to talk about my opinion on it to show why the class hates me.
And apparently word travels fast. By second period (this happened in first) I had a girl, who wasn't in my first period class, actually ask if I was really doing it.
