Dream A Little Dream Of Me

Dean awoke, finding himself in the arms of an angel. Cas to be exact. He smiled lazily, bringing him closer. He knew it was Monday, but he didn't care. If Monday had a face, he would punch it.

He wanted to be here with Cas. He just wasn't sure he wanted Cas to know that. The thought terrified him. What if Cas didn't feel the same way? It would just make everything difficult. It wouldn't be fair to either of them.

He had to get up. But he couldn't. He didn't want to. He'd rather sleep in, with Cas by his side. He would sleep in till February if he could.

But he knew he had to get up. Because school. It wasn't fair. Who really needs school? Music? There's YouTube for that. Phys Ed? There's a Wii. Spanish? There's Dora. English? Everything's shortened anyway (lol, omg, idk, etc). Math? That's why there are calculators. Geography? Buy a globe. History? They're all dead anyway.

"Cas?" He murmured. "Cas? You awake?"

He didn't feel like putting forth any sort of effort this morning. Probably due to the fact that he loved Cas in every single way and didn't have the balls to admit it. And now, here he was, in this beautiful boy's arms, only until he woke up. Perfect.

"Cas. Wake up. School now." He muttered.

Cas groaned in his sleep. "No. Don't go in there."

Dean grinned tiredly. He was so sweet when he slept. He looked so peaceful. He wondered what he was dreaming about.

"No," He mumbled. "Don't go in. Too scary."

Dean chuckled softly. "What is it, Cas? Whatcha dreamin' about?"

Cas groaned again. "You're a nightmare. Just a nightmare. Go away."

Dean kissed his forehead. "You're fine. Please don't wake up. Let's stay in here forever. Who cares about school?"

"Go away, nightmare. Go 'way!" And he jerked awake, causing Dean to spring to his feet, not wanting to be caught in Cas's arms.

"Okay, time to go to school now!" He exclaimed.

Cas sighed, yawning and stretching his arms. "I don't wanna."

"Trust me, neither do I. But it's really for the best."

"But... why?"

Dean shrugged. "No one really knows, Cas. But we have to. Rules are rules."

"Can't we just call in sick?"

"Sorry, buddy. That's not how it works."

Cas groaned, curling up under the blanket. "What if I really am sick?"

Dean grinned. "You're not sick, Cas."

Cas began to fake cough. "Ugh, I feel terrible. My temp feels like its a hundred and one or something. I better not go and infect my fellow students." He coughed again.

"You can't fool me, Cas. I know all." He took the blanket and tossed it to the floor, finding Cas curled into a ball.

"Are you babying me, Dean?"

"Maybe. Now get up." He smirked.

"What if I'm infected with procrastination?"

"Walk it off, Cas."

Cas groaned, not wanting to do anything at all. "Not fair, man."

"Life ain't fair. Now c'mon, get up. I'm gonna go wake up Sammy." And he left to wake up his little brother, who was still asleep.

He pounded on the open door. "Up and at em, Sammy!"

Sam groaned, looking up at Dean. "We don't have school today."

"Uh, Sammy, it Monday. Might wanna get your calendar fixed."

"No. School got canceled. Didn't I tell you? The school called a few minutes before you got home. They said school was canceled on account of vandalism or whatever. Something about plastic reindeer."

Dean's face became quite red. "Huh. Vandalism. Well... huh."

"Why do I feel like you had something to do with it?"

"Uh... no idea. But I guess we're sleeping in today." And he went back into his own room.

Cas was still curled up on the bed. "Well, Cas, if you wished for no school last night, well, call your genie and send him a fruit basket. School's canceled. Thanks to us and our Christmas thing."

He didn't get a response. Cas must've went back to sleep. Dean could live with that.

He got in bed beside him, gently running his fingers through Cas's hair. He was just so peaceful, breathing so steadily. He looked so relaxed, rather than when he was awake, rambling without end. It was the most adorable thing though.

And all of a sudden, he heard a car horn outside his house. He got up and looked out his window, where a canary yellow Prius was waiting outside his house.

He didn't know who it was, but he decided to see who was waiting for him. He walked outside and approached the car. He looked through the passenger side window and recognized who was in the driver's seat.

"Lisa?"

She smiled and waved at him. "Hiya, Dean!" She chirped.

"What're you doing here?"

"For our date, obviously!"

"It's like 6:30 in the morning."

"I just figured, hey, no school, might as well do something. Besides, it's never too early for romance, Dean."

He nodded along. "Yeah, sure."

"C'mon, we'll get some coffee. Maybe that'll perk you right up!"

"Well, if I'd've known I was going out, I would've changed."

"Not to worry. We'll go to the Starbucks with a drive thru. Now come on!" She insisted.

Dean sighed. "Fine, whatever." He got in the car, and Lisa began driving.

Lisa Braeden was a terrible person. She was a bitch to the ones she didn't like, and was over the top perky to the ones she did. No one liked her, but they pretended since she was the school's resident Queen B. As in, Queen Bitch.

They got to Starbucks and waited in line at the drive thru. Lisa decided to strike up a conversation, much to Dean's dismay.

"So when should we kiss?" She asked.

Dean was caught by surprise. "Wait, what?"

"Well, if we're gonna start dating, we should kiss. I'm thinking, a lot. What do you think?"

He sighed. "Haven't given it much thought."

"Well, we could always kiss now."

"Wouldn't that be rushing things a bit?"

"So? Couples have to kiss. That's, like, a law."

He sighed again. "Just... not yet, okay?"

"Oh, taking things slow. Gotcha. I can dig that," She paused before continuing. "Then we'll have sex, right?"

That very much surprised Dean. "What?"

"Yeah. Kissing leads to sex, then sex leads to more sex, which leads to unplanned pregnancy. Duh."

"You can't plan an unplanned pregnancy, Lisa."

"I'm planning on it being unplanned."

"You can't plan it to be unplanned, otherwise it's plan- why are we talking about this?" He exclaimed.

"I just wanna have a good relationship here. Don't you? With kissing and sex and stuff?"

"I guess." He murmured.

"You don't sound so sure."

"Guess I don't."

"Are you even putting effort into this, Dean? I feel like you aren't."

"We just started dating, and you're talking about kids. That's a bit of a turn off, Lisa."

"I'm talking about unplanned pregnancy. What's that have to do with kids?"

Dean sighed, rubbing his eyes. This woman was exhausting. "Nothing, apparently."

"Dean, can we kiss now?"

He sighed again. "I'm too tired."

"But I want you to kiss me. Don't you love me?"

He looked over at her. "I have no freaking clue."

"You know, Dean, I feel like I'm wasting my time here. It's like you... hate me or something!"

"No, I'm always like this in the morning. Just need coffee."

Lisa sighed lightly. "Fine. If this damn line would get moving!"

Back at Dean's place, Cas was still sleeping soundly, dreaming his little heart out. It was him and Dean in an open meadow, a summer sun shining down on them. They lay in the soft grass, holding each other in their arms. It was so nice, and Cas never wanted to awaken.

"I love you, Dean." Cas smiled.

"I love you too, Cas." Dean returned the smile.

"But when will I admit it to you?"

"One day," He began to run his fingers through Cas's hair. "You'll see."

"I'm just so scared."

"It's okay to be scared sometimes. Fear let's you know you're human."

"Sometimes I wish humans could do without all the emotions and stuff. It just gets in the way."

"What about love?"

"That one can stay. And that's it. All we need is love."

"You should tell him you love him. He called you an angel, remember?"

"That could've meant a lot of things... fake Dean. I'd rather stay here with you, where it all makes sense to me. We love each other."

"But I'm not him."

"But you're perfect. You look just like him."

"Looks mean nothing. What it all boils down to is the personality. Do I act like Dean? Do I talk like him?"

"Well... it doesn't matter. He's straight. He doesn't love me. Not really."

"Whatever you say... angel." He began nibbling on Cas's earlobe.

Cas chuckled. "You're making it difficult to leave, y'know!"

"Can't help it. It's your dream, remember?"

"Well, yeah, I guess. Do I really have to go?"

"Sorry, baby. I love you, which is why I'm letting you go."

"You're a figment, Dean," Cas pointed out. "You don't really love me."

"So? Feels like it, huh?"

"I guess. But like you said, it's not the same."

"It isn't."

"What do I say to him? 'I love you, do you love me back?' This is scary, fake Dean."

"I know. You'll be okay, baby, I promise."

"Still scared."

"Don't be. Just take a deep breath, and have a little faith. You'll be okay, I promise baby."

"I just... what do I say? I don't wanna make it weird. How do I-"

"Shh," He ran his fingers through Cas's dark hair. "You'll be fine. I promise. You'll know what to say. I'm sure he loves you back, angel."

"Angel. He... he did call me angel. Maybe... maybe there's like the tiniest percentage that he loves me back. Just the slightest. He called me angel, although he didn't know I heard him."

Dean smiled. "Exactly. Besides, how could anyone not love you?"

Cas blushed, smiling. "Oh, stop it."

Dean kissed his forehead. "Go on, now. Tell him."

"I will. But... can I just... stay here a little while?"

"Sure. It's your dream, right?"

He smiled and hugged Dean closer. "Yeah. It is."

Meanwhile, in the real world, Dean and Lisa had gotten their coffee, and were sitting in a parking space drinking it.

"Is this romantic yet?" Lisa asked.

Dean sighed, sipping his coffee. "Sure."

"You know how long I've waited for this? Dean and Lisa. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"

"Right." He nodded absentmindedly.

Lisa narrowed her gaze at him. "You don't seem entirely focused, Dean. C'mon. What's troubling you?"

He shook his head. "Nothing. It's nothing." Just gay thoughts, that's all.

"You sure?"

"I'm fine, Lisa. I'm okay, really."

She nodded. "Okay. Can we kiss now?"

Dean sighed. "I dunno, Lise."

Lisa groaned. "Oh come on! What's it gonna take to get you to kiss me?"

"I..." He sighed. "I dunno. I just asked you out yesterday, do we have to kiss now?"

"I want to!"

He sighed deeply. "Y'know, Lise, I had plans to sleep in upon realizing school was canceled, and now I'm here, so I'm not in the best of moods."

Lisa exhaled sharply. "Fine. If you wanna go home, I'll take you home."

"How do you know where I live, anyway?"

She scoffed. "Come on. I know where you live, you know where I live, it's a mutual thing."

"Actually, I have no idea where you live."

"Let me just take you home, 'kay?"

They arrived at his house, and he left with a brief, "See you later." He went inside to his room, where Cas awaited him.

"Hello, Dean." He greeted.

"Hey, Cas. Look who's awake." Dean grinned.

"Where were you?"

He chuckled. "Oh yeah. That. So... I just went on a date with Lisa Braeden."

And Cas's whole existence was shattered. "Really?"

"Yeah. It was... interesting."

"Was it?"

"Yeah, we went out for coffee. She's... a bit much, to put it mildly."

Cas grinned. "I bet she is."

"Alright, so, no school today. What should we do, huh? I'm bored out of my mind."

"I dunno, I'm still in procrastinating mode."

"Yeah, it is pretty early."

"Why was school canceled, anyway?"

Dean grinned. "Um... that was kinda our fault. The Christmas thing, Operation Figgy Pudding."

"You can't be serious."

"You can't make stuff like this up, dude."

Cas chuckled. "Hey, when should we do the Christmas party? I'm thinking maybe this weekend."

"Yeah, sounds good. We should learn how to make eggnog. Maybe learn some Christmas carols. Stuff like that."

"I already know a couple lines from Jingle Bells." Cas grinned.

"See? This'll be a piece of cake."

"I hope so. This town needs to Christmas up, pronto."

He was going to tell Dean. But now he wasn't sure he could. If he was going out with Lisa, he should just keep his mouth shut. The thought of Dean dating this girl saddened him, but he'd have to learn to live with it.

Even though he wanted his Dean more than anything.
