The sun shines its bright light into

Every life it touches, not holding

Back its natural, uplifting charm –

And so do I.

The storm rolls in,

Powerful, unrelenting,

It refuses to back down –

And so do I.

The moon tries its best to be strong for others,

Even when it is not –

And so do I.

The essence of my being,

An amalgamate of contrasts that

Somehow seem to go perfectly together:

Mysterious, yet intelligible,

Predictable, yet unpredictable,

Introverted, yet extroverted.

This ordered chaos that is my very being

Is only on the first legs

Of this journey,

The first chapters of this lengthy book,

I can't wait to see how it ends.
