From a young age, Achilles Bennett had learned things many people could not figure until their freshman year in high-school. Love and loss, he had learned at the age of three when his older sister had died. Then again when his father was sent to jail just after Achilles had turned five. When he was eight, his mother had left him in fear of taking care of a young sorcerer. Sheila Bennett, his grandmother, had taken him.

There with his grandmother, Achilles had learned something about himself. He had always wondered what his soothsayer dreams meant. He had learned the hard way what it meant to be a warlock. The boy felt as if his powers were that of a disease, something he begged to be rid of. Achilles pushed them down, wanting to discard the thing his mother had left him due to. One day, his powers had come out along with his bad mood. They- he had struck a kid who stole from Elena Gilbert.

Sheila Bennett had to quickly take action, teaching the boy of everything the magical world had to offer. There were candles, herbs, spells, amulets, cauldrons, grimoires filled with spells, and so much more for him to take in. Everything had reminded Achilles of a halloween movie, but this was his reality. This was the reason why his mother left him. He decided, watching as Grams turned the pages of an old grimoire, to embrace his power and show his mother he was better off.

As Achilles enters his Senior year of Mystic Falls High, he tries to win the heart of the angel among men, Elena Gilbert. With Matt Donovan out of the dating picture, he assumes now is the best time to swoop in and save the girl. He became suspicious, though, that someone had already caught the brunette's eye once more.
