"So . . . . what was it you wanted to talk to me about Anti?" Mayura asked him, "Not that I'm complaining. I hardly get to see you as it is"

"More than you used to" he joked but fell silent quickly, in thought, ". . . .Look . . . I know this is weird but please try and imagine we're alone?"

She looked past him to see Aizawa and Present Mic 'hiding' not too far away from them . . .watching them. . no . . watching Anti most likely.

"Uh . . . I'll try"

They were on the UA campus walking around. Anti couldn't leave the premise until the League of Villains were dealt with, unfortunately.

Honestly, Mayura was very surprised when Anti asked her to hang out 'alone' with him. They hadn't been like this since their fight a few weeks ago.

But now things were VERY different.

"So . . . you got your hero license, you interned for Ms. Smolders AND you're gonna be interning with Hawk's agency next week. Kinda jealous to be honest. You don't look too excited, though. What's up?"

"You really haven't changed all that much, have you Anti?" she giggled, "You can still read me like a book . . . wait, what do you mean, jealous?" she tilted her head at him.

Anti blinked, "Did I say that? Oh, maybe . . Not jealous of you, though, really . . more like jealous of HIM"

She blushed, "Anti?"

"I don't get to spend a lot of time around you and then now you're gonna be around some other attractive man for a couple weeks? I can't help it, May! Anyway, why the long face?" he switched the subject quickly leaving her a bit stunned but she managed to shake it off.

'He just means he's jealous that someone else will be stealing his best friend away is all. Nothing more'

"Well it's just . . . I don't know" she decompressed. Could she really tell him? She didn't think she had the nerve.

"Yeah you do. You just don't wanna tell me because you think I'll be disappointed in you"

" . . . . . . "

Anti smiled at her, "You can tell me anything, May. You KNOW that"

She sighed but stayed silent for a little while more as they made their way to the forested area of the school grounds where a small pond was.

When they got to the pond, Anti took her hand and led them to a nice dry rock to sit on and relax.

Aizawa and Present Mic were up in a tree watching. Honestly, Aizawa felt that this was an invasion of privacy but the two both knew that Anti was good at heart and wouldn't purposefully hurt Mayura. And Mayura wouldn't hurt Anti, either. They still had to watch out for the League of villains, however, They could be anywhere. Already, they've breached school grounds twice and that was enough.

They weren't taking chances with this pair.

Mayura sighed heavily, "I . . . . Anti, I don't know if I should be a hero"

Anti gripped her hand tight and stared at her. She felt nervous but there was no malice in his eyes.

"May . . . . why would you say that? You've already grown so much. You're learning how to control your power-"

"I know" she stopped him, "It's just that . . .." she felt so weak telling him all this, "I became a hero for YOU, Anti . . . . for the both of us because I thought . . . thought you were . . . .. . . . .. But every time I go through a class, I'm still not sure if I'm good enough"

"Oh stop that" he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, "Of course you're good enough. The world needs you, May. Your power is really something special and you need to really own it. I know you can do it"

"But I-"

"Don't you like helping people? Don't you love the feeling you get after saving someone? Knowing they went through less trauma with YOU there?"

She leaned her head on his shoulder, "Well yeah . . . . it's just . . . . . the league wants my power, too. All for One . . .he can STEAL quirks. What if he's able to steal mine?"

"Guess you'll just have to get stronger than him, then. Besides, the only reason he's after you is because I told them all about your power and then kidnapped you. It's all my fault you're in this mess . . . But we'll help each other get out of it! Don't you worry!"

"I . . . " she wanted to argue but she knew she couldn't. His 180 arguments were really hard to win. He always had a way with words and comforting her in his own strange way.

Suddenly, a spark ran down her body and she yelped, "ANTI!"

He snorted and laughed, "AHahahah! Oh, that was hilarious. Sorry, Flicker but I couldn't help myself!"

"Oh you!" in her mild anger, she craved revenge and suddenly flung him into the pond, getting him soaking wet, "HA!"

It wasn't deep at all but he ended up completely wet in pond-water. He shook it off but otherwise, he was fine. More than fine, really. Looking up seeing her blushing and laughing after getting her 'revenge'.

Her red cheeks, her skin glowing slightly, the sound of her laugh, such a lovely melody.

He couldn't take his eyes off her.

Mayura stopped laughing to herself just in time to notice the way he was looking at her and she blushed even more so, "Uh . .. Anti? You okay? I . . uh . .. I'm sorry, it's just-"

"Don't be sorry, love" he grinned, finally getting out of the water. He glitched back up on the rock with her, making the water dry off of him immediately, "I deserved it"

"You bet you did . . . ." she couldn't take her eyes off of him now though. His smirk and the way his shirt hugged his muscles just right and-

'Oh god, what am I thinking?!' she shook her head, 'This is Anti! My childhood best friend! I can't . . I can't think that way about him! It's wrong! Isn't it? Oh this is all Mina's fault!' she glanced at him again but his features turned back to that of concern.

"What's wrong this time, May?"

"NOTHING!"

"You know . . .. I've seen you spending a lot more time with class 1-A lately. . . . .and that Bakugou guy . . . he seems to have taken a liking to ya. What you think about him?"

She wanted to gag, "Ew, Bakugou? Hell no! He's just my rival, apparently" she shrugged, "Self-proclaimed by him, of course"

"Oh . . . what about that Midoriya? Iida? Kirishima? Denki?"

But his curiosity seemed to have gotten the better of him in his moment and Mayura narrowed her eyes at him, "They're friends. Just like the Septics are. Got anything to tell me, Anti? About you and Momo? Or Mina? Jiro?"

"Nah, nah, no" he shook his head and smirked, "Not into 'em . . . . they're okay heroes though, I guess, though. Cool people. . . . . . . nothing like you, though"

She blushed yet again, "Yeah, the others guys are nothing compared to you, either, Anti . . . you're my best friend"

He seemed a little struck for a moment but smiled, "Yeah . . . you too"

Present Mic covered his mouth, "Oh, bummer. Poor kid just got friend-zoned"

"You know it's not really our place to listen in on their conversations, right?" Aizawa spoke softly.

"Oh whatever! As if you're not keeping an ear on them, too!"

The pair decided to walk again but things were a bit more quiet this time. Neither of them really realized why.

But finally Mayura got brave and spoke out, "Anti . . . . why DID you mention Bakugou? About him maybe liking me like . . . that?"

"Well . . . . . . I know he was with you when the league kidnapped him and I . . . took . .. you"

She nodded, encouraging him to continue.

Anti exhaled heavily, "It's just . . . . I don't know. First I saw you with Jackie and that . . . angered me for some reason. And then Dabi was . . flirting with you . . I guess. It pissed me off so much"

"Yeah, I didn't exactly like him, either, but Jackie and I are just friends"

"I know . . . . I can't help but feel jealous, though, May" he glanced at her and the breathe left her lungs. The look in his eyes, so powerful and yet so soft. She couldn't explain it.

"And then that explosive dick being around you more often . . . none of them deserve you. I don't think so, anyway"

"Anti . . I . . I don't know if I should ask but . . .. do you . . . have feelings for me?" she hated asking but she felt she had to. It felt so cliché but the way the conversation was going, if she didn't ask now, they might never know what the other really feels about each other!

She reddened even more, "I mean, you don't have to answer! Uh . ."

'I . . . do I?' Anti was speechless for a moment, but it made sense to him. That the two of them should be together. His brothers might be right after all, 'But does she really like me? I can't quite tell. It's like we're both walking on egg-shells.'

He seemed to have been taking too long with his answer, though and Mayura went red again, feeling ashamed, "I . . I'm sorry, Anti. I shouldn't have asked that! I'm-"

"Yes . . Yeah, I guess I do"

.

.

"Huh?" she squeaked.

Anti gulped, knowing he was taking a big risk but it was now or never. He couldn't remember the last time he blushed so much, himself. Or the last time he was so nervous!

They stopped walking by now, coming up to a nice bushel of flowers around some trees and the air smelt pretty.

Anti steeled himself up, "May . . . . I think I . . . I think I've fallen in love with you. . . . But uh . . I can understand if you don't feel the same. I'll still always be your friend no matter what"

She felt like she'd faint any second. Or was this a heart attack? She wasn't for sure but if she got any redder in the face, Anti might have to call an ambulance!

"Huh?"

He knew then she was stunned, "M-may? What do you think?" he was terrified she'd reject him. It'd be plausible, after all, to do. He WAS with the League of Villains for a good chunk of his life. Did she still trust him completely? He wouldn't.

"I . . . I mean-" she started, " Wh-why?"

He was confused by this, "Huh? What do you mean why?"

"Why? I mean . . ." she looked away from him, not able to look him in the eye anymore, "I'm . . . I'm not pretty like other girls . . . . I'm not . .. skinny or . . .. or brave and-"

'What? How could she think this way about herself?' He couldn't believe it.

But he knew he had to fix it. Right here and now.

'I have to make her see NOW how I really feel. Make her see that to me, she's the most beautiful and strongest woman I've ever met'

Suddenly he took her face in his hands, "May . . . . how could you think this way about yourself? That's ridiculous!"

"But it's true! I-"

But she couldn't finish her sentence, a pair of lips on hers, passionately taking hold of her spirit. In that instant, all her fears started to melt away.

Anti couldn't believe he was doing this either. It was a gamble and a big risk but like hell he was gonna stop now! Her lips were so soft and addictive and he swallowed every little noise she made in her surprise.

By this time, Present Mic and Aizawa found themselves looking away blushing. This was way too much for them not that Aizawa would ever admit it.

Finally Anti pulled his lips away. He wanted to dive in again on her but held himself together.

"May . . . you are the most beautiful girl I've ever known inside AND out. Your weight means nothing to me. You're amazing through and through. You've saved me more ways and times than you'll ever realize. And you ARE brave, May. You're the bravest fucking woman I've ever known"

She was still for a few moments but snapped herself out of it for a moment, "I! No I'm not! I'm not brave at all, Anti! I've been scared all my life! And then with you not in the picture, everything was so much worse! I didn't know what to do without you by my side! I've just a sad, depressed nobody! I don't even know HOW I got into this school the way I am!"

"May, you saved me" he chuckled at how dense she was being, "Don't you get it? You were willing to sacrifice your life for me. In the hope that I'd snap out of it, you risked your life. You're SO brave, May" he cupped her face in his hands and kissed her softly, "So brave . . and don't you forget it"

"Besides" he continued, "Who's the girl that came bursting in my hospital room ready to fight all the pro heroes to save me? If that's not guts, I don't know what is. Not to mention it was kinda sexy as fuck-" he forcibly stopped himself before he got too blunt.

"Anti . . . . " she smiled, ignoring that last little bit, "I . . . . . " she looked up to him but didn't know how to put it, "You think too highly of me . . . . but I . . I love you. You've always been my best friend . . but since getting you back . . . I guess . .. I guess these feelings we've had for one another as kids just exploded into something else entirely, huh?"

He kissed her again and she melted into it, "I love you, too, May . . . You don't know how much . . . ." he pecked her forehead gently, "You're gonna be a great pro hero one day, you know it? I can only hope you'll always let me stay at your side"

"Of course, Anti" she hugged him, squeezing her head under his chin, "I wouldn't want it any other way"

They stayed like that for a while, even forgetting completely that the teachers were still there watching them from up in the tree.

Present Mic was about to cry from all the emotion. Aizawa just rolled his eyes, "Come on, man, get it together"

"But they're so perfect for each other! The music just jazzes between them, ya know?!"

" . . . . no?"

No one was shocked by their new relationship development. The Septics practically egged it on and were cheering for the two while class 1-A actually threw a party.

Had they been THAT oblivious to their own attractions?

Although, Bakugou just had to yell at her that her 'dating' life better not get in the way of her training. She had to get stronger!

It was actually the first time, Mayura realized that maybe she really COULD be a hero. Anti's words had always been inspiring to her.

Anti couldn't be a hero just yet since his time with the league and threads of distrust wisped around the teachers and students about him but sooner or later, Mayura knew he'd make it eventually.

Because it wasn't just one person that got saved that night.

Mayura never thought that she'd ever be able to remotely control her power but Anti saved her that night by returning to her, breaking free of his chains.

That was all she needed to believe in herself and as long as Anti stayed by her side . . . .

This power of hers really WAS unlimited to her.

I know this is a short chapter since it's the end of this short story but I hoped you guys enjoyed it nonetheless. Really, this was just a fun little test concept for me to play around with and I'm not ENTIRELY happy with the ending but I can't bring myself to think of anything different to do with it and I didn't want to go any further with it lol But anyway, I hope you guys liked it and I'll see you all in the next story! :D
