~~~~(Jacob's POV)~~~~
We all stood behind Amy watching her fight. Every time she was knocked to the ground she got right back up. This went on for a long time until Amy had one of the Volturi leeches under her paws. After she gave a small demand like speech she killed the blood sucker, as we watched the others leave and to never return. That's when everything went down hill. Amy fell over not moving and we all rushed to her side.

Emmett, Jasper, Paul, and Jared are burning the destroyed bodies, while the rest of us shifted and circled Amy. Carlisle was checking Amy out and Embry carefully picked her head up and placed it on his lap.

"Why Amy, just why?" The blonde Rosalie asked. There was a long silence until I responded remembering my dads words.

"The protector would do anything to protect people, even loved ones." I never moved my gaze from Amy when I spoke. Her breathing and heart rate were slowing down. I noticed she looked at Embry then she shut her eyes.

"We have to get her back to the house. I can do more there than here." We all nodded and lifted her up. Whimpers and whines were heard and everyone looked at Carly, Tessa, and Sarah. They all three moved close together and Edward said,

"They want us to put Amy on their backs. It would be easier and quicker to move her without all of us lifting her." So Edward, Emmett, Jasper, Embry, Quil, and I lifted Amy and gently laid her on her sisters backs. Once that was done we walked off back to the Cullens house. Embry stayed by Amy's head rubbing it and me behind him.

(At The Cullen's House)
Carlisle blew up an air mattress for Amy and we laid her down gently. Her head dangled off the side and Carlisle got to work. So here we all are once again in the living room to hear of Amy's condition. I looked at the clock and saw it was 4:30. The fight lasted that long? Man time did fly by fast. I saw Embry stand and walk out the back door, and me being a worried best friend went to check on him.

I walked outside to see him standing on the stairs looking at the sky. I walked over to him and said,

"Hey, you okay?" I placed my hand on his shoulder. He turned around and I saw worry in his eyes.

"Yeah man I'm fine. Why are you out here?" He asked.

"I came to check on you. I'm worried about you, you know you and Quil are not just my best friends but are more like brothers." I replied.

"Thanks and the same goes for you too." Embry said with a small smile. I patted him on the back and heard a door open. And not just any door, but the door to the examination room where Amy's at. We both hurried into the house and saw Carlisle come out with sadness in his eyes.

"Carlisle..." Rosalie whispered. He looked up and said,

"It's too soon to tell. She sustained many injuries and I did all I could. I gave her an IV and a blood transfusion. From the harsh hits to her sides punctured many ribs, and the ribs punctured her lungs making her bleed internally. She has many bruises and broken bones."

"But her wolf healing can help her heal faster right?" Tessa asked. Carlisle shook his head.

"I'm afraid not. She pushed her body to its limit in fighting. Even if the pain bothered her, she kept fighting. She used so much energy to fight, her body will take longer to heal. So right now the first forty eight hours are critical. I will need to keep a close eye on her until anything changes." I turned to look at Embry and saw him stalk out of the room. I ran after him and was outside once again. I saw him sitting on the ground with his knees pulled to his chest and arms wrapped around his legs.

I heard him crying and walked over to him. I sat right next to him and kept quiet. I turned towards him and saw fear in his eyes. I watched as his sobs wracked his whole body.

"Embry-"

"I'm scared....I'm scared to lose her Jake. I can't lose her man, she means everything to me." I put my arm around him and pulled him into a sideways guy hug. He needed a friend and comfort.

"Guys, Alice has something she wants to say to all of us." Quil says poking his head out the door. I nod my head towards him and pat Embry's arm. We got up and headed back inside and I stood while Embry sat on the couch with Quil. Everyone else took up the couches and chairs in the room, and some were standing. We all faced Alice as Jasper had his hand on her back sitting next to her.

"Okay Alice, you said you wanted to tell us something?" Carlisle asked. She nodded and closed her eyes. After a moments silence she looked at all of us and said,

"When we were planning Amy's wedding I had a vision about today's fight. Amy noticed and tried to have me tell her what it was. She got frustrated and went outside. But she saw the fights vision but not..." She paused thinking.

"But not what Alice?" Rosalie asked.

"She didn't see the other two visions I had. I had two visions, one for each outcome of the fight. I didn't want to say anything in front of everyone so I confronted her in private. I told her the two outcomes and she told me her decision afterwards." She added.

"Alice what were the two outcomes?" Edward asked concerned.

"The first one was that we get badly injured with a few deaths. The second one.....the second one was that we get injured but Amy comes in before they finished us off. She would get severe injuries and possibly die." She continued. We stared at her then Esme asked,

"Why? Why would she chose the second option?"

"Because we would have lost many." Alice inquired.

"How many of us Alice?" Sam asked.

"We would have lost Quil, Jared, Leah, Brady, Sam, Rosalie, Bella, and Jasper." Alice barely whispered. "She said by sacrificing one she could save many and that's why she chose the second option." We sat there in silence taking all the information in.

"Carlisle is it okay if I go in and stay with Amy, in wolf form?" Embry asked not wanting to be away from his imprint any longer. Carlisle nodded and Embry headed outside to phase, then shortly he comes in and into Amy's now hospital room. I watched Embry walk to Amy's side and lay down with his head next to hers. I was worried about Amy and the rest of us were heading home to our families and imprints.

That's what I like about Amy. She's caring, loving, fun, always smiling, and strong. She's like a sister to me and I'm not giving up on her, just like I know Embry won't. I walked outside and phased releasing a sorrowful howl for Amy and was joined in by the others howls.

~~~~(Embry's POV)~~~~
I laid next to Amy's sleeping wolf form. It was morning and I haven't slept yet. Afraid if I close my eyes then open them again, Amy would truly disappear. Carlisle would come check on Amy every half our. There's no change in her condition and I whined scared. Esme would come in with Carlisle sometimes offering me food. But I would whine and turn my head back to Amy wanting her to wake up. I guess it was around ten in he morning because I heard many voices outside in the living room.

I decided that I need to go for a run. Running always helped clear my thoughts, and I just wanted to be alone. I nudged the door open and the room fell silent. I looked and saw everyone looking at me with concerned eyes. I huffed a sigh and trudged for the door. Once outside I took off at a fast pace. Everything passing me in a blur. My legs had a mind of their own as my mind was in a haze. When my legs stopped I shook my head to see a meadow. Not just any meadow but the same exact meadow that I met Amy in.

I dragged my sore legs to the middle of the field and laid down. Thinking of the memories of Amy and I here relaxing. She would sit and I would lay my head on her lap as she would rub my fur. She told me secrets, not even knowing that the wolf was me. She would always meet me here after school and leave before dinner. Same goes on weekends, but she would come early and leave before dinner. I remember her secret that she told me here in this exact spot.

(Memory)
She was telling me stories about her and her sisters. After that we sat there in silence, her rubbing my head and I purred in happiness.

"Embry," my ears perked up upon hearing my name. "I can't stop thinking about that man. He always makes me laugh at school or when we hangout together. I really like him, but I'm afraid to tell him. Just yesterday at school, we were in English class. A note was passed onto my desk. I opened the white piece of paper and saw a beautiful message. It read 'I smile every time I see you. When you return that smile to me, my heart overflows with joy.' " she sighs with a smile. "After silently reading the message I turned and looked at him. I smiled at him and he smiled his breath taking smile. I just can't help but smile every time I see him and I always want to be near him." She giggles and my heart flutters in happiness hearing her giggle and laugh. I just sit there enjoying her sweet angelic voice telling me everything to her hearts content.

(End of Memory)
I whine at the thought of her. Just thinking about her makes my heart ache in pain. Feeling so exhausted from no sleep, running earlier today and crying I fell asleep in the middle of the meadow. The wind blowing in a slight breeze, birds chirping with the other forest creatures.

"Embry," I heard my name. "Embry," the voice sounded like the angels from heaven. I just sighed and stirred a bit. Hoping the person would leave me alone, so I can rest in peace. I heard A giggle and decided to see who was next to me. I opened my eyes slowly and saw the most beautiful thing in the world. "Morning sleepy head." There standing before me was no other than Amy herself smiling her gorgeous smile.

I stood straight up looking Amy straight in eye. My breath got caught in my throat. Her bright sapphire eyes were full of life. I looked her all over noticing no cuts, scratches, bruises, or any thing wrong with her. It's like she was never in a fight, it's like the first day I met her on the beach her smiling like there's nothing that could go wrong. Amy placed her hands on my face, holding my head in place. Her thumbs rubbing my cheek bones, and I purred leaning more into her hands. Missing her warmth and tingling touch.

"I love you Embry, so much" Amy whispered. I purred to her meaning I loved her and she giggled. "I know you do." We sat together for a short while enjoying the silence and company.

'Why did you leave me Amy? I'm so lost without you, it breaks my heart.' I whined.

"Oh Embry, I would never leave you unless you want me too. Remember Embry love is what keeps people together. When that's broken then nothing can keep you to stay....I never left you its just our love has been stretched a long distance." Amy said with sorrow. "Just remember I may not always be with you physically, but I will always be with you here." I felt something on my chest and looked down to see Amy's hand placed over where my heart is. I looked up and whined with tears about to fall. She smiled softly and rubbed my head.

"Embry?" I looked up at Amy and saw her face full of fear. I noticed she was looking down at something and saw her looking at her hands. I gasped but in wolf form it sounded like I couldn't breathe. Her hands were fading. I jumped straight up and Amy stood up. "Embry something's wrong, help me Embry!" Amy said freaking out shaking her hands hoping the fading would stop.

I walked towards Amy but I noticed her body started to fade faster. Starting at her feet working its way up. She quit struggling and her features showed calmness. Amy held her hands out to me and said one last thing before she disappeared,

"Embry," her voice was not of anger or sadness. It was of love, comfort, and compassion. Her eyes showed the same exact thing. I ran towards her but ran through her and..............

I jumped awake. I was panting heavily and took me in my surroundings. I was still in the meadow and noticed it was late in the afternoon. Amy! I jumped up searching for any sign of her but then realized it was all a dream. But it felt so real. I sighed and went to run back, but was stopped with a terrible pain in my chest. Like something was wrong and I didn't like the feeling, not one bit. Then I ran straight for the Cullens knowing what ever was going on was happening there. I ran as fast as I could and was there in minutes.

I jumped the steps and made it inside and ran to Amy's room. I heard beeping noises coming from the monitors and ran to Amy's side. Carlisle was in here in seconds and got straight to work. Carlisle was working fast and nothing was working. He released a frustrated sigh and I saw his eyes fill with sadness.

"I'm sorry Embry, nothing's working and I've tried..." Carlisle trailed off. I whined and nudged Amy's head. She didn't move and I started to panic. So I began to lick her as a wolf kiss. I licked her face and nudged her head so my head lay underneath. I lost her....I...she's gone.

The room was silent and I didn't hear the others come in the room. I heard a faint heart beat, beating faster, getting stronger every minute. I started to feel heat radiate off of Amy and the tingles soon came back where our bodies touched. I felt pressure being lifted off my head and notice Amy slowly trying to lift her head.

Carlisle was at her side checking her vital signs. Amy's eyes fluttered open slowly but what was weird was she not moving her eyes. I whined and got a faint response from her.

'Embry..Embry are you here?' She asked panicking.

'I'm right next to you don't worry,' I reassured.

'Embry it's dark I can't see a thing!' Amy said moving her head but her eyes were a dull blue but where there was white, was now black.

'Edward she can't see!' Knowing he can read my mind. Amy sat next to me whimpering, scooting closer into my side.

"Carlisle, Embry says she can't see." Edward informed Carlisle. Carlisle looked shocked and took out a light.

"Okay Amy I am going to shine a light, so if you can see a tiny bit of light follow it if you can." Carlisle explained in doctor tone. He moved the light many times and Amy's head stayed in one spot. Carlisle sighed and said, "I'm afraid Amy has gone blind but..."

"But what Carlisle?" Esme asked worriedly.

"There may be nothing to reverse it." Rosalie came over to Amy and went to rub Amy's head but she shied away.

"Amy it's me rose, I won't hurt you." Rosalie said in a sorrowful tone. Amy whined and laid her head down on her paws.

'Embry?' Amy asked.

'Yeah sweetheart?' I asked trying to comfort her.

'Thank you,' she replied softly.

'For what? I didn't do anything.' I responded.

'You saved my life,' she said just above a whisper. I laid my head on hers and stayed with her. 'I promise Amy, we will get your sight back. We'll figure this out, I promise' I thought.
