Comforting and Friends

~~~~(Aurora's POV)~~~~
I was surrounded by darkness. I could hear movement next to me as they went to the door. I heard the door shut and hushed voices on the other side. My limbs feel heavy as I try to move. After a few attempts, I was able to open my eyes.
I looked around and noticed I was in my bedroom. It was still dark outside from what I could tell by looking out the window. I noticed a mound of blankets on top of me. I heard the door open, and I looked up to see Jesse.
"Hey, you're awake, how do you feel?" He asked softly.
"Just very tired, how did I get here?"
"When you left, everyone was just in shock. Afterwards me and the guys went out looking for you. We lost your scent for a bit so we spread out. Tobey, Ryan and I found you. We followed your scent to a hill and trees all over with a creek running down below the hill. We shifted back, and Ryan went to the edge and saw you. Tobey and I slid down the hill towards you. Ryan called the others and they shortly came. I picked you up carefully and Tobey helped me get you up the hill. Then we came back to the house and got you warmed up. You pulled a muscle in your knee, but that should heal in two days." Jesse spoke. It was complete silence until my very quiet voice whispered,
"Why?"
"Hmm, why what?" Jesse asked confused.
"Why did you come for me? Why didn't you let me die?" My voice barely audible.
"Aurora, why would you think that? We care about you, that's why we went after you. I love you Aurora, I will always go after you." Jesse said sounding like he was broken.
"But it's my fault that he's gone...Lilly's right, everyone was better off with me not being here." I said on the verge of tears. I felt muscular arms wrap around me in an embrace. Jesse was saying soothing words to me.
"Jesse, who's here? I heard you talking to somebody."
"Some of the pack is here downstairs. We were all pretty worried about you. Your siblings aren't here at the moment, except Flora." I nod my head. My body was very tired at the moment.
"Jesse, I'm going to lie down. I'm tired." Jesse laid me back down and covered me up with the blankets.
"Good night Aurora, sweet dreams." Jesse leaned down and kissed my forehead. Then left the room probably to watch football with the rest of the pack. My eyes fluttered close as a wave of exhaustion hit me.
************************
I woke up with a jolt, quickly trying to get to the bathroom. I limped quickly, and once I got to the bathroom I puked my stomach contents up. This continued for a while and my body just leaned against the toilet.
After I was done vomiting, I leaned against the tub for support. My body is growing weaker as each day passes. I don't have much time left. I heard the door open and felt a warm hand on my cheek.
"Aurora, are you alright?" Jesse asked. I smiled weakly. I stared into his eyes that light up my world.
"Yeah, just tired is all." I said in between pants. Jesse lifted me up and took me back to the bed. We laid down and I knew Jesse was worried about me. Just how do I tell him? Maybe it's best if I keep it a secret. I closed my eyes going to sleep instantly.
*****************
I woke up to hearing the birds sing. I got out of bed and walked to the window. The sun was just peaking over the tops of the trees. I sat down in the chair looking out the window loving the peace and quiet.
I was surprised that Jesse wasn't here when I woke up. I kinda wish to be alone anyways. The accident replaying in my mind. I can't stop thinking about it, wishing there was a way for me to have done something differently.
Then maybe, just maybe grandpa John would still be with us. His funeral is tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be able to face everyone. My brothers Liam, Ember, and sister Lilly already think I'm a murderer. What does everyone else think about me?
My thoughts were broken as the door opened, and Jesse popped his head in.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" I smiled slightly, but replied.
"I'm fine," Jesse comes walking over to me with a plate of food in his hands.
"I figured you'd be hungry." He placed the plate down on the small side table next to the chair.
"Thanks, but I'm not hungry." I looked out the window as I spoke. My thoughts drifting somewhere else. Truthfully, food was the last thing on my mind.
"Aurora, you haven't eaten anything good for the past few days. Please eat something." Jesse begged. I wish he wouldn't worry about me all the time. I heard Jesse sigh and left the room.
*****************
It's been four days, and I haven't left my spot. I won't eat or sleep, and Jesse is really worried about me. Not only him but also the rest of my family including the Cullens. Jesse, my mom, dad, Flora, and Aunt Rosalie have come and tried speaking to me.
They've tried to get me to eat but I still wasn't hungry. I had bags under my eyes and had puked twice when no one was around. Luckily my secret was still safe, but for how much longer? My thoughts dispersed when I heard the door open.
I didn't even bother turning around to see who came in. I felt a soft dainty hand on my shoulder. My gaze never left the window. The person came to the front and sat down in the chair next to me.
Now my position in the chair is me sitting sideways, with my knees to my chest. My arms are wrapped around my legs as I continued to stare off into space.
"Aurora, sweetheart, we need to talk." Grandma Serena spoke. The person I was mostly feared to face the most. "Sweetie, we're worried about you. You haven't been eating or sleeping."
I just stayed silent hoping she would leave after a bit like the others did. I was wrong, she continued speaking,
"No one has seen you since the funeral. You were standing away from everyone, and left immediately afterwards. Jesse says you came back to your spot afterwards and haven't moved since. I want you to talk to me." She waited for a response and I sighed before saying,
"There's nothing to talk about."
"I know that's a lie, otherwise you wouldn't be doing this." Why can't I be left alone? That's all I ask for. "Now please tell me what's bothering you."
"It's my fault." I whispered.
"Aura, what's your fault?"
"Grandpa's passing. It's all my fault! Maybe if I didn't come back here he'd still be alive!"
"Honey, it wasn't your fault. It was an accident, everybody knows that." My grandma tried to comfort me. I shake my head.
"No, it's because of me he's not here. Everyone was fine until I came back! I can't sleep without being haunted by nightmares of the crash. I'm so focused on the crash, that food is the last thing on my mind. Grandma...I'm s-s..sorry..." I said the last part in between sobs. The gates have broken as tears cascade down my cheeks.
"Shhhh...it's alright sweetie, shhh it's not your fault." Grandma embraced me in a hug and rubbed my back soothingly trying to calm me down. After awhile my cries turned to soft whimpers. I cried myself to sleep in my grandmother's arms.
I woke up momentarily as I was placed on something very soft like a cloud. I felt blankets cover my body, stopping at my chin. I heard hushed voices speak close to me.
"Thank you Jesse, now she can be more comfortable." Grandma Serena said.
"I should be the one to thank you. You got her to finally open up, where I failed. What did she say?" I heard a deep sigh.
"She broke down and told me why she wouldn't eat or sleep. She's been to focused on the accident, that food is the last thing she thinks about. And that nightmares of the accident plague her mind, keeping her from sleeping." Silence then grandma speaks again. "She blames herself for the accident. She thinks everyone is angry with her, she even thinks I hate her."
"I wish there was something I could do for her." Jesse's voice sounded broken. Pictures of the crash were coming to mind and a whimper escaped my lips. I heard someone walk next to me and placed their hand on my cheek.
The warm hand sent tingles in my cheek calming me down instantly. I leaned towards the hand wanting more of its warmth and comfort.
"All she needs is you to be there for her." I heard grandma whisper. "I'll leave you two be, I will let everyone know that she is resting." Shortly after that I heard the door shut. Then I felt the bed dip behind me, and the covers lift behind me as Jesse climbs in next to me.
A warm arm snakes around me and pulls me closer to his chest. I turn around so I'm facing him, and placed my head on his chest. Jesse's breathing was lulling me to sleep.
"I'm sorry....love you..Jess." I mumbled tiredly and fell asleep instantly.
************
The next day I woke up early. I looked behind me to see Jesse was still asleep. I quietly sneak out of his arms, out the door and down the stairs. My knee was still hurting when I put weight on it. So I kept it bent and just walked the best I could to the kitchen.
I noticed that the living room was littered with the pack members sleeping. I smiled and went to make breakfast. I pulled the ingredients that I needed and got to work. I made pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, and hash browns. I made two plates full of everything.
I heard groans from the living room, assuming that they're waking up. I started placing the food on the counter so everyone could get some. Jesse comes lumbering in, and was followed by two pack members.
"Hey, what are you doing up, and did you make all of this?" Jesse asked wrapping his arms around my stomach and kissed my cheek. I nodded. I noticed it was Ryan and Tobey who came into the kitchen.
"Is the whole pack here?" I asked.
"No, just Caleb, Cooper, Stephen, Brandon, Tommy, Caden, Tobey, and Ryan. Your grandma convinced the others to leave. Everybody was pretty worried so some stayed here." My face saddened. I wish everyone wasn't so concerned about me.
"How are you feeling this morning Aurora?" Ryan asked while eating his breakfast.
"I'm better, thank you for helping Jesse in finding me." I feel ashamed that everyone was out looking for me. I was just wanting to run away from everything until things quieted down.
"We're glad to hear that." Tobey spoke before shoving a fork full of pancakes in his mouth. I laughed slightly but stopped when the others come meandering in getting breakfast. They sat down and enjoyed their breakfast.
"Hey Aurora, aren't you going to have any?" I looked up and saw that it was Caleb who asked me.
"No, I already had some before you guys came in." I said smiling. They didn't look convinced but didn't push it either. "I will be back, I'm going upstairs for a little bit. Help yourselves, there's plenty." I said motioning towards the food.
I limped up the stairs and into my bedroom. I hopped in the shower washing my hair with Rose essence shampoo and conditioner. I washed my body with flower scented body wash. Once I felt clean, I got out and wrapped a fluffy towel around me. I brushed my hair and walked to the closet.
I grabbed black skinny jeans that were ripped in the knees. Black and White jacket, with a black hat. I wore a white long sleeve underneath, white socks and black converse (Picture on the side). I went back into the bathroom and applied black eyeliner, mascara and clear lipgloss. I didn't have to do anything to my hair because it's always straight no matter what I do.
I walk back down the stairs the best I can without putting too much pressure on my knee. I noticed everyone was in the living room watching tv, so I went into the kitchen and did the dishes.
I heard a phone ring twice before somebody answered it. I just put the last plate away as Jesse comes walking in.
"It's for you." I took my cell phone from him and spoke.
"Hello?"
"Aurora! Hey it's Megan." She spoke happily.
"Hey Megan, what's up?"
"Well I've tried calling you for the past few days, but you didn't answer."
"Yeah, sorry I've had a lot happen the past few days."
"You didn't forget your promise did you?" Megan said sounding a little upset.
"No, no, no! I remember our promise. We stay in touch even after graduation."
"Exactly, now I hope it's not so sudden but...Cole and I are in Seattle. We were hoping to meet up for lunch and catch up?" What! They were in Seattle?!
"No that sounds like fun, uh there's a nice café in Seattle. Let's say see you in an hour?"
"Great, see you in a little bit! Bye." Then Megan hung up. I shut my phone off and turned around to be met with Jesse.
"Who was that?" He didn't sound protective or rude, just curious.
"Remember I told you about my friends from college? Megan and Cole are here in Seattle, and are wanting to meet up. They're picking me up and we are going to eat at a café close to their hotel, I'll be back in a while."
About half an hour later I heard a horn outside. I got up and walked outside walking over to a nice black car. Megan comes rushing out as does Cole. Megan comes rushing over to me and envelopes me in a bear hug.
"Geez girl, you've gotten skinnier since I last saw you. Have you been eating properly?" My eyes went wide as I heard a voice speak from behind me.
"Eating properly? Aurora, what's she talking about?" I turn around and saw all the guys are outside.
"N-n-nothing, I promise I'm eating fine." I said with my eyes shut, smiling and holding my hands up in a surrender motion. Megan, Cole, and I get in the car and head to Seattle to the café. The car was silent until Megan spoke.
"I'm sorry Aurora, I didn't mean to say that out loud."
"It's alright Megan, we can talk about it later alright?" I wasn't mad at Megan. She was truly a sweet girl. She had long dark brown hair that's curly. She had brown eyes, and was slightly chunky. She's outgoing, sweet, smart, caring, and generous.
Now Cole, he's got short light brown hair. His eyes are a sea green, tall, and was slightly built/skinny. He's smart, funny, caring, and generous. Cole and Megan make a perfect couple.
After about forty-five minutes, we made it to the café. Cole parked the car and we got out. We sat outside at one of the tables. We ordered our food. Cole got a Mountain Dew, cheeseburger with fries. Megan got Diet Pepsi, walking taco with onion rings. Me, I got a water with a bowl of fruit.
I went to eat a grape, when Megan spoke.
"That's all your gonna eat?" I sighed.
"Yeah, I don't get very hungry." I said.
"But what about earlier? Those guys didn't seem very happy when I accidentally blurted out." Megan said.
"Those guys were Jesse my boyfriend, and the rest were my cousins. They don't know about me not eating much. They're worried enough as it is, I don't want to worry them any more. You see I haven't eaten for four days because I was in an accident. It killed my grandpa."
"You were depressed and food was the last thing on your mind." Cole said, and I nod my head in response. "How are you holding up?"
"I'm fine, just very tired." I said truthfully.
"Have you had any attacks lately?" Megan asked. I was scared to tell them but I hesitantly nod my head.
"Almost ten since I've been back." I said quietly.
"Geez, Aurora they seem to be frequent right now. Have you been to a doctor or told anyone besides us?" Cole asked worried. I shook my head no. I was afraid to tell anyone else.
"Aurora, I think Cole's right....maybe you should go see a doctor about this." Megan added.
"Why?! All they're going to do is say the same thing I already know. You guys were there when the doctor told me. I was scared of letting you guys go and know my secret. Who knows how my parents will react when they find out. Luckily nobody has really seen my attacks." I said calming down.
"What do you mean?" Cole asked.
"Every time I'm about to have one, I try to leave so no one sees. But Jesse always follows and helps calm me down before my attacks really kick in." I respond.
"How long do you plan on hiding this from everyone?" Cole asked.
"As long as I hopefully can." I say sadly.
"But Aurora, you should really tell your family while you still have time left." Megan said. I shake my head no.
"I can't tell them about it, because that will just scare them more. It's my problem not theirs. Besides I've told you guys, people I love and trust." I said hugging them both. "Promise not to tell anyone unless you have too?"
"We promise." They both say in unison. With that we paid the check and went back to the car. We were just turning around a corner, when I walked right into someone.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying atte-" I stopped talking as I looked at......
