CUT CHAPTER | Mr. E
So originally this chapter was two and was also in the story, but I made a ton of modifications for the backstory to be more canonically correct.
Then I found out that Harumi has no idea who Mr. E is, so here we are now. This chapter is really bad and not very well edited, so warning it'll be hecka cringy. I wrote it a year or two ago so my writing was even worse!
This chapter would take place after the SOG is formed... well you'll see. I don't actually know when this would take place with the new version of TQO.
My parents never went downstairs. When I say "downstairs", I mean the lower level of the palace. The part that was lower than the main floor. Most people don't know it exists. It's not really a basement, but more like the first level... It's too hard to explain.
Anyway, the important thing is that they never go anywhere except the north side of the palace, where bedroom chambers and throne room are. The south part of the palace, as I soon discovered, was actually an ancient temple. The palace was built off of its structure.
I went to that temple a lot. Not even Hutchins knew about it. I kept all of my notes of scheming in there. I also had plans for a Nindroid variant-- an unbeatable warrior. I had once gone to the Frozen Wastelands, dressed as a poor beggar, and retrieved Zane's original blueprints. I made a stronger, less vulnerable, and heartless Nindroid from its base.
💮
After my third (or was it fourth?) year at the palace, I had to dye my hair white, like Mother. So I dyed my hair, and tried to consistently wear the hard crown that framed my face.
We took a picture, on my first week as Princess Harumi. I kept it with me at all times with Kokoro's family. So I had two family pictures: Harumi and Kokoro's family photos.
Kokoro is still a part of me, but it was kind of like a memory- here, but not here at the same time. It was a fire that kept me awake at night, planning the demise of the emperor and empress and the Ninja. It was fuel to my hatred, my anger, my hunger for revenge.
Come to think of it, my life as Kokoro caused a whole bucket of trouble. That bucket of trouble was the Ninja's fault.
Again...
💮
After the Stone Warriors had terrorized Ninjago, I found a motorcycle gang who were against the Ninja. They were a ragged organization, with no name or leader.
But what I liked about them was that they revered Lord Garmadon. He was so powerful, but that stupid Lloyd turned him all good, so he was the opposite of who he used to be.
They followed the beliefs I did. I knew it must have been meant to be. There were about fifty people, probably more. So I introduced myself, told them who I was.
As expected, they didn't take me seriously. After all, I was what, eleven or twelve years old? There were adults in the gang. I was a preteen princess. They were obviously thinking, How do we know she's not a spy?
I dueled each that challenged my leadership. Two of the seemingly more powerful members, UltraViolet and Killow, challenged me first. I defeated them with my bare hands, without more than a scratch or bruise on me. Clearly, the other members were more like followers, and since their leaders were beaten, they submitted in defeat to me.
So I donned my title "The Quiet One" and named the organization "Sons of Garmadon". We used the image of Lord Garmadon, but his helmet horns were motorbike helmets.
We spray-painted these messages of the Sons of Garmadon. We took over the abandoned subway station beneath Ninjago City and made it our headquarters.
As time went by, our gang grew more powerful. I was their leader, but we had two generals. We needed three. So I said I would bring in the third within the year. He would be invincible and unstoppable-- because he would be a Nindroid.
He wouldn't ever speak. He would follow my orders. He would be equal to the Ninja in power and more.
The S.O.G. loved the idea. I mean, they always agreed with me. So I set to work.
💮
As mentioned before, being a princess meant I was being watched by everyone. I was a brilliant actress and a terrific liar. As the Quiet One, I kept a tiny microphone nobody could see with me at all times. If you were going to say "Where?", the whole point was that nobody would see it, and that is a terrible question. Don't bother me with those.
UltraViolet and Killow sent me coded messages, and I sent coded messages back when I couldn't meet them in person. It proved to be a very efficient method that helped us in the years to come.
When the emperor and empress were away, I would travel. I gathered invincible metals from the entire island of Ninjago. Of course, I was in disguise. I am the master of disguise. (And deception.)
One day, I was disguised as a civilian. I had Luke Cunningham, the interim third-in-command, disguised as my brother. We were searching for more materials for the Nindroid when we found the jackpot.
At the moment, the Ninja (and "Sensei" Garmadon) were off at Chen's Tournament of Elements. Mother and Father were at the palace, and I told them I was (undercover, of course) watching villages on the southern parts of Ninjago.
They liked the idea. We rarely showed our faces to the public- mostly me- so being undercover sounded good to them.
They had no idea of what I was really doing.
💮
Luke and I decided to travel from Borg Tower outwards- from the heart of Ninjago City. There was construction going on around the tower, so after nightfall, we went in to explore.
The construction crew had done quite a bit. There were tunnels leading under the streets since there was a problem in the pipes. So we went into these tunnels, snatching pieces of precious metals, and making sure to not lose our way back out.
Of course, there is security all over Ninjago, so we had to be extra careful, even though we already had cut off electricity to the entire city. There are the police and residents, so we had to keep quiet.
As we ventured deeper into the tunnels, I grabbed high-quality tools, pipe shell, and the like. If the metal wasn't in the right shape, then I planned to just weld it into the correct shape.
Finally, we resurfaced and stole more programming inside Borg Tower. By then, it was early morning. I told Luke that we had just a little further. He didn't protest.
At the top of Borg Tower, the sleek metal was the quality I wanted. It was made to battle the elements (no pun intended), extremely strong and durable, and is difficult to weld and damage. As much as I wanted to, I didn't have the right tools to efficiently take it.
We had worked for hours, tirelessly gathering parts for our new Nindroid general. A few days prior we had collected old Nindroid parts, and earlier that week we had found clothes for our general to wear, so he would be effectively disguised among our brethren.
Luke and I were able to salvage things from the exterior of the Tower, but its security rates were too high to go inside. I decided we should explore the top of Borg Tower first.
I motioned Luke to follow me. We scaled the Tower using the equipment we brought and climbed the west side- where the sun's shadow would be if it rose early.
We reached the top. We had two large sacks of metal, programming, and the like. I didn't think we needed any more, but I wanted to get the last bits.
Nobody who worked at Borg Tower, even Cyrus Borg himself, went to the top of the tower. It wasn't a horizontal surface, and unless the top was wrecked or damaged, an unaided mortal wouldn't be able to stand upright, let alone walk around. They would slip and slide and fall to their deaths.
Of course, I had designed blueprints for technology even the Sons of Garmadon idiots could make, like advanced grappling hooks and shoes that clung to a surface, allowing one to climb up a vertical surface.
We scaled Borg Tower quickly, pausing only once to take a sip of water. After an hour passed, we reached the top.
I walked around and looked at the Borg Industries logo loom over me. Two long points seemed to "hold" it in place, as the logo hovered.
"There isn't anything here, Quiet One. Why are we here?" Luke was clearly impatient to get off Borg Tower, but he masked his impatience with exhaustion.
I didn't answer Luke and shot my grappling hook to the top of the Borg Industries Logo and began to scale it. He sighed inwardly- I almost didn't hear it- and made to follow me.
"Stay down there, Cunningham," I said sharply. "I don't trust you enough to follow me."
He bowed respectfully and waited. I climbed all the way to the top and frowned at what I saw.
Besides a dazzling view of Ninjago City, I also saw a pulsing fraction of Dark Matter. It was purple, red, orange, yellow, and magenta colored. It was weak, had no mind of its own. But I was ecstatic. This was a part of the Overlord which Zane blew apart before his death.
Carefully, so I wouldn't break it, I gently lifted the Dark Matter and cradled it in my arm. I swung down from the peak of the tower and rejoined Cunningham.
He wisely didn't ask what I had in my hand and we returned to the abandoned subway.
Some of the members lived in the headquarters "to be on guard" in case something happened, namely Killow and UltraViolet. I told them the situation and returned to the palace with my Overlord fragment.
I sat down at my workbench, overflowing with my collected supplies, and got to work.
💮
Right at dawn, I completed my work. The Overlord fragment contained programming and some seriously good fighting skills, which would be hard to create from scratch. Inside my head, I thanked the Ninja for almost destroying him completely.
I don't like them anymore, but had they not blown up the Overlord, I wouldn't have been able to finish the Nindroid general, and I wouldn't have been able to continue leading the S.O.G., because I'd be playing princess 24/7, as we would be cowering and hiding pathetically.
Ew.
So I thanked the Overlord with all my might as I attached the power source to my secret weapon.
As I connected the final bits of my masterpiece together, I came up with a name- Mr. E. Like a mystery, because the Ninja would be mind-blown of who this character is, and yet he's a Nindroid- not like anyone will know that.
I had programmed him to speak in code- he spoke backward. He would refrain from speaking at all and would wear clothes to look human so nobody could find out who he was.
I "dressed" Mr. E. His motorcycle helmet was actually attached to his head, and he had a communicator, not unlike the Ninja's (but I didn't get the idea from them, promise).
There was no on or off switch. Mr. E would be invincible. He would live until his ultimate destruction.
I connected the last wire, closed and sealed the hatch, and waited for Mr. E to come alive.
💮
Mr. E'S eyes glowed to life.
Exhaustion previously weighed me down, but seeing my masterpiece come to life made adrenaline rush through my veins. Mr. E was intimidating, but he was like my son. I was to treat him equal to UltraViolet and Killow, but he was better, stronger.
"Rise, my warrior!" I cried, exhaustion cracking my voice. "I am The Quiet One. I am your creator. You have been programmed with commands and knowledge. Do you understand?"
Mr. E said something garbled. I had changed my BorgWatch, which I had tampered and changed, translated it. Yes, Quiet One.
"Your first task tonight will be to guard the headquarters. Only let members in, and you have a list of them in your databanks."
Mr. E took his station and I returned to the Palace.
The next morning, Father demanded, "Harumi, why didn't you sleep well?"
I lied to him, saying I couldn't sleep. He was unhappy with this, the lines on his forehead creasing and his eyebrows knitting together, but he left me alone.
Later, I watched over the S.O.G. headquarters through Mr. E's eyes. It was fascinating how the members saw him and just scurried away. The Nindroid was rather intimidating.
Mother came into my room. "Harumi, you're late to your next class again. Stop lazing around here and get to the library."
"Yes, Mother," I said as I shut down the laptop.
"Oh, and put on your makeup. You look embarrassing."
"Yes, Mother."
I put on my makeup, put up my hair, and dragged myself to the library. My lesson was on geography of the Frozen Wastelands, which was incredibly boring. Hutchins monotonically continued on about the monks living there.
Finally, my lesson ended. I got out of the library and ate lunch. Mother and Father left with Hutchins to visit nearby villages.
I visited the S.O.G. My parents were none the wiser. The Royal Guard is only allowed outside the palace, not inside, so I sneaked out easily. When my parents returned, all they saw was a difficult, ambitious, foolhardy princess that wasn't even of royal blood.
They didn't question my lies.
💮
Even though this plan has already been executed, I still don't feel up to discussing all of the details, so I'll explain the plan as I tell my story.
The beginning of the plan was simple. Father was going to make a speech, and there was important leverage on the oblivious emperor's speech. I would invite the Ninja over to guard us and watch out for the S.O.G. (who know of this plan already, might I add). Remember, I would be playing princess for a long time.
I would charm the Ninja easily, making them believe I was on their side. UltraViolet would hook up the Blast Sap beforehand, and I would warn Hutchins (well after UltraViolet was gone) about a nonexistent gut feeling about the S.O.G.'s arrival, and he would hide the real Mask of Deception. Before the palace is completely wrecked, Mr. E would take the Mask of Deception from the palace.
The Ninja would fight Mr. E, but he would have his invincibility and the Mask of Vengeance at his aid, helping him win the fight and escape. The Blast Sap would explode, wiping out the entire palace-- except for the Temple of Resurrection.
The ninja would take me in, and I would feed the Sons of Garmadon the locations to the other Masks. They would claim the masks, and then I would reveal my true self. We would resurrect Lord Garmadon and I could exact my revenge on the Green Ninja.
Though simple, it was such a brilliant plan I just knew it was going to work.
told you it was bad XD
