Miya stood looking at her boyfriend. "Why do you have to leave?" 

"Because." He replied softly, "you know what He will do to  you if I lose control. I can't risk it. As long as he is in my head, I am a danger to you and Thalia. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you. Or her."

"But-"

"No buts Miya! I can't risk it! If.....If I can find a way to get him out, I will come back."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

The two shared their last kiss before the man disappeared into the shadows. Miya walked back into the house and cried.
