Chapter Thirteen
As the afternoon turned to evening, Gloss couldn't help but fiddle with the pendant and think of what the Queen said. Her words were so sincere, so pure, that she had to go over them at her little spot under the tree. She angel crossed her arms and looked at the warm colored sky. The wind blew her hair around, and the length and heaviness had become to irritate her. It got tangled in branches in the forest, made her easy to pull back to be stricken, and it just didn't feel right to her. She looked around and took out her dagger from her boot.
It shined in the last bits of the sunlight. Before placing it to her silky black hair, the knife revealed her reflection as she striped herself of each strand that she cut off. She closed her eyes, and the sound reminded her of when Zelda was cutting some fabric for the pouch Gloss carried around. Knowing that with each cut, she'd never go back, and she'd be something new.
Gloss picked up the long pieces of hair that were on the ground. It was smooth to her touch, and she sifted her hand through her now short hair. The tips of it pricked her fingers like needles of a spindle, but it felt... good. She looked at her long, fallen hair, but the wind snatched it out of her grasp and took it away to somewhere else.
In the last bits of remaining time, Gloss decided to lean against the tree and listen to the rustling of its leaves. The sound had become so familiar to her, that it was almost normal to be in silence when no one spoke. After all, nature's calls were there to help with those awkward moments which Gloss has been in too many times.
For some reason, she looked at what she was wearing. The outfit was a red shirt with no cloth covering her shoulders with dark blue pants. Her boots were black with a spot where she can put her dagger in case of an attack. Since she no longer had her wings and now had short hair, she had no doubt that her friends couldn't recognize her.
The sun was setting quickly, and she had to get back to her quarters in the castle. As she was walking through her secret passageway in the wall, she sang a song. This wasn't any song. It felt special to Gloss, yet she didn't know why.
Zaglja ni tyv serdetshko Mne
Lshazhi uhodi
Zime
Veter voet, a ty grej menja nebo stonjet, a u nas
Vesna
Poprosi u oblakav
Podarit nam belyh snov
Notsh plyveti my za nej
Vmir tainstbennyh
Ognej
Razgoni ty tosku vo mne nespo kojno u nenjav
Tushe
Poprosi u oblakav
Podarit nam belyh snov
Notsh plyvet i my za nej
Vmir tainstbennyh
Ognej
Poprosi u oblakav
Podarit nam belyh snov
Notsh plyvet i my za nej
Vmir tainstbennyh
Ognej
...
Poprosi u oblakav
Podarit nam belyh snov
Notsh plyvet i my za nej
Vmir tainstbennyh
Ognej
Poprosi u oblakav....
Sighing, Gloss looked behind her to see her bare back. It became odd to see herself without those huge feathery things. Of course, she's always saw herself as different, but in a good way. Many people gave her respect because of it, but she never felt like she was at home.
As the area around her was tinted blue from the night sky, Gloss made her way into the castle doors. However, this bright light appeared in front of her, and what she was about to see would change her completely.
