Chapter Ten
Gloss and the others then ran into this huge cave. The temperature dropped, but Ash's magic kept them warm. When they walked into this deep amiss of power and darkness. It felt more eerie than the group thought. The five kept on bumping into each other, and Gloss noticed something familiar about the area.
"Zelda," Kenya said. "Think you can spark a bit of light in here?"
"Ken," she replied. "I don't that would be a good idea."
"Why's that?"
"The power source is strong, yes, but because of its mass, it would be easy to spot us. I don't know who would live here, and if the dragon finds out, if there is one here, then the flames would burn us to a crisp."
"Then how is Ash able to keep us warm with her spell?"
"Dark magic is made by the person," Ashtrin intervened. "Other magic needs a power source besides the user. It's a huge reason why Dark magic is the hardest to master."
"You are a strong person as it is," Link said. "You've flipped me with only one arm. Ouch, I can still feel it, too."
Just then, a low growl echoed through the walls. The group stopped, and Gloss' face went pale. The sound was too similar to that of a Jeweled Dragon, and those dragons never made a mistake for a move. Slowly, Link and Kenya got out their swords and sneaked farther into the cave.
"What in the Ether?"
Gloss whispered. Ashtrin smacked her sister's shoulder which told her to shut up. For once, Gloss listened and put her hand to the cold stone. Dripping water ran along the hollow cave, and the shadows made these strange shapes that made everyone shiver. Gloss then was hit by this wave of force, and it drain a bit of her energy. Zelda noticed and gasped. That wasn't a good idea.
A loud roar rang through the darkness, and lightning bolts zipped near the five. Everyone got out their weapons or started to do magic to protect themselves, but Gloss became weakened. She tried walking but immediately collapsed to the ground.
"Gloss!" Kenya yelled. "What's wrong?"
"Her energy is being drained by the power," Zelda replied. "She can't fight at this rate."
"Then get her outta here!"
"Got it!" Link said running towards Gloss. As took barely two steps, flames of purple, blue, and red struck in front of him. He stumbled backwards as Zelda put a magical aura around him.
"This aura can't go around two people!" she said. "Get Gloss out of here and don't look back."
Link nodded his head as the flames went around him like a fist but didn't tighten. He helped Gloss around his shoulders as the girls distracted the now appearing dragon. It was massive! It was possibly the size of Aredelle's walls: One hundred feet, maybe more. It's colorful scales shined brighter than diamonds,, and its eyes like one of a serpent. It's gaze was strictly stuck on Gloss' shiny wings. It roared aggressively as the two ran out of the cave. Link was having trouble holding up Gloss' weight, however.
"You two help Link get sis out!" Ashtrin yelled to Ken and Zelda. "I'll hold this creature."
"Ash, no!" Kenya denied. "You can't do that! You'll die."
"Just get Gloss out of here!" She yelled while gaining this immense strength.
Kenya's eyes widened with sadness and worry, but she agreed and ran to her poor sister and Link. Zelda did a spell that would protect Ashtrin and followed Kenya. Behind her, Gloss could hear the horrid dragon screeching as each of her sister's attack put a strong indent in it's body. Just then, she heard Ash struggling and looked back to see her on the ground helpless.
"Ashtrin!" Gloss yelled.
Right then and there, her wings began to glow with this powerful light, and her energy came back to her. When the dragon was about to breath fire over Ashtrin, Gloss stepped in and carried her weakened sister to the others.
"Keep her safe!" She yelled as the others ran with her over their shoulders.
Gloss threw a powerful spark of light towards the Jeweled Dragon, and while she was running out with the others, she felt this horrid burning behind her. When she got out of the cave, she blocked it with an aura and stopped the flames from coming out of the stone area. The dragon growled as it went back into the cave.
Gloss sighed with relief until she felt a stabbing pain behind her. She screamed with pain and fell to the ground while the pain grew along her body. Taking in gasps of breath, her hearing became blocked out, and she heard her friends and sisters yelling her name. Being weakened by everything, Gloss' vision was starting to fade white around the edges as Ash and Kenya kneeled around her.
"Sis..." Ash whispered as her voice sounded like she was underwater. "What have I done...?"
Right then and there, Gloss fainted against the frosted grass of the tundras. When she awoke, she wasn't going to be, or feel, the same as she had ever been before. After all, she had lost something of great importance to her...
