Chapter Fourteen
Gloss opened her eyes to being on these fluffy white clouds now. They felt like cotton at her fingertips, and suddenly her long fallen hair blew into her lap. She touched the silky black before her, and this figure with a white robe, white hair, and silver eyes appeared in front of her. He had this wooden staff with the symbol of wind engraved at the top.
"Who are you?" she asked him.
"My name is Fang," he said taking her hand to make her stand. "The Elemental Angel of Wind."
"Oh my..." Gloss gasped. "I-I-I don't know what to say in front of such a high p-"
"You are higher than I am, however," he cut her off. "Do you really not recall who we are?"
"My name is Gloss, and I'm a guard for the Queen of Arendelle."
Fang sighed and gestured Gloss to follow him. She then remembered she had her hair in her hands and let the wind take them away. As she did so, the clouds began to surround them like the people of the streets. It didn't feel uncomfortable, but it was quite tight. Suddenly, this bright light emerge front in front of them, and Gloss had to shield her eyes.
The light subsided, and what was in front of her made Gloss gasp with awe. It was the Temple of Ethereal Angels. She stepped onto the marble floors of the steps and felt like she was in Heaven. It all seemed like a dream: so real, yet so unlikely.
"Why are we here?" Gloss asked looking back at Fang. "A human like me should not be standing on such holy grounds like this!"
"You are more than just human, Gloss," Fang replied with sadness hinting in his voice. "Come, I want you to meet some others."
At this point, Gloss was about ready to faint with the craziness. She walked each step with a feeling of being lightheaded, and when they reached the big golden doors, another man's voice came from behind her.
"Fang, what have you br- Gloss?"
Turning her head, Gloss was introduced to a man who looked like an archer. He had a beard growing along his face, and his brown hair was curly and shone with his light green aura. His outfit acquired of brown boots, light blue pants, and a leather tunic. His eyes were the same color of the grass back on Earth.
"Oh... my... Ether," she said. "Am I really standing in front of The Elemental Angel of Earth, Adam?"
"Fang," Adam said to his friend. "Does she remember us?"
"No," Fang answered. "It seems that what she said was true. She won't remember us."
Still confused, Gloss' eyes were blinded by the bright light that emerged from the golden gates of the Court. Her eyes widened when she saw Hydra in her light blue dress once more. Gloss just realized the angels didn't have their wings.
"I'm sorry for asking," she said. "But I don't see any of your wings."
"Oh," Fang said looking behind him. "There's a reason for that. Because we don't need to show our high status here in the Ether, we can rid of our wings until our next flight. What about you? How have your wings been shining recently?"
Gloss looked down in despair since she remembered that her wings burned to ash. Hydra put her hand on her should and smiled solemnly. She gestured Gloss to come into the Court while she began speaking to Fang and Adam about her... troubles.
As she was explaining to them in the background, Gloss marveled at the golden and marble pillars that stood in the gigantic area. She spun in a complete circle as she was so excited to see this holy structure. She laughed with joy until she spun into Adam.
"Careful," he spoke in a low voice while smiling. "Don't wanna get hurt."
"Oh," Gloss replied while stepping out of his arms. "I-I-I am so sorry!"
"It's okay," he replied while putting his hands behind him. "We all heard what happened to you on Earth. I'm sorry."
"It's been hard," she admitted. "I guess being alone has helped a bit."
"You also changed your appearance?"
"It's become a burden."
Just then, the area around her became all cloudy. All Gloss could get was the sad look on Adam, Fang, and Hydra's faces when the blinding light came once more and took her in front of her room.
Odd, Gloss thought, was that real or a vision?
