Authors Note: This shit will get dark I'm fully aware of how dark black butler can be since I read the manga and see some mess-up stuff in it as an example of that cult scene so I'll be doing the same in this book as well I'll start with readers' mother how she earns her title and how she ended with Vincent engagement.

Narrator POV~

The Mare family is one that everyone wishes to be companions with or to even be recognized by them no matter how hard nobles try to gain their interest they always turn a blind eye to the lower ones every member of the family has at least one talent there was no room for a weakling it was how they show their loyalty to the queen

The same goes for Noche Mare the Queens most faithful crow at a young age she had high anticipations from her relatives including the queen herself

She was gifted with many abilities even lucky with charm she was molded to be the perfect woman in the family because of that she was expected to find the perfect suitor by the time she was 18
She only had one more year left till she finds someone with
Many men came forward to ask her hand in marriage but were always rejected

No one can fit the perfect husband for Noche she wanted someone who can be as perfect as her at least that's what her mother told her, she couldn't afford to disappoint her family

After so many rejections and heartbreaks from many men the queen was saddened to see her crow alone with not a single person even trying to befriend

The Queen wanted what was best for her someone who could be of the same status as her and that's when it hit her

The faithful crow of Mare and the loyal watchdog of Phantomhives

The two most powerful and smartest nobles united together she could already see how much power they can wield together so without hesitation she already set up a date for the two to meet in her castle both parties were nervous in their separate carriages

Both are not sure why the queen requests their presence at the time upon arriving both separately we're led to the garden where a picnic was set up for the two finally meeting each other gazes for the first time

Vincent POV~

Vincent was taken back to see this lady it was unmistakable that she was indeed a noblewoman with the way she stood straight head held up high her dress being one of the finest and well-made he's ever seen

Not only that but her beauty is what made his heart flutter her eyes staring at his with a stern yet curious gaze her hair with decorative pearls set on them

It's when Vincent realizes this was a setup by the queen he was silently praying the date will go well he won't admit it yet but he always wanted a lover but couldn't find one that suit him or his family didn't approve of

But this noblewoman might be just the one for him

" so are gonna introduced yourself, Mister...?" Her voice sounds like an angel he Sees her smiling playfully at him she walks to the table with a tray filled with sweets and a hot tea kettle still steaming

He rushes to pull a chair out for her almost starting her a bit his cheeks burn with humiliation forgetting how to treat a lady 

" don't be nervous, I don't bite~"

Her words made his body shake slightly and his cheeks never stop
flushing she sat down as Vincent did the same across from her

" well am I gonna get your name  mister?" She asks softly
Staring at his blue orbs that gazes back at her

"Ahem, my name is Vincent Phantomive I'm so sorry for not introducing myself earlier I was caught off by your beauty I forgot my manners," he explained peeking to see if she reacted to his complaint but she only kept a straight-faced 

She then finally smile at him his heart clenched at her articulation

" it's nice to meet someone like you from the Phatomive family even when it's the Queen's guard dog, so let me introduce myself... My Noche Mare and I am the Queen's crow "

Vincent couldn't believe his ears when she spoke of her name
He was talking to the mare noche the talk all nobles ever say he heard so much gossip and stories from his mother and her noble friends he was so curious about the mare family since he never met them

Seeing one in person especially if it's the one he's been looking the most forward to meeting the most

"Are you honestly that surprise to meet me?" She said taking a bite of the pastry laid out for them

"Can you blame me though I've always wanted to meet you now I just want to enjoy being in your presence " he sighed dreamily seeing how her eyes gazes to his

Third POV~

Noche could care less that she was tricked into going on a date with a man she never met and only heard of by the queen but seeing how she made a good choice picking for her instead of her parents she slowly start to find him more attractive to his character seeing he was different compare to other suitors she wanted someone who she can enjoy being around,

he has been waiting for someone who can make her cold heart feel the warmth of affection

The queen smiled at the news of how her two favorite people were getting along she had only hope for good things for them

The two have begun courting after getting both approvals from the family they were always together even when separate they would talk about how they missed one another they goof with one other seeing as the two were enjoying being themselves not having to put on an act of their family name 
If one was invited to a party they always show up arm in arm proudly showing off their love in front of people

It gave off a warning to the other nobles or anyone who tried to separate the two lovebirds couldn't be done so many believe that they are a couple of true power

But sadly fate has other plans for them

"Diedrich, how long do I have to wait to see my Vincent ?~" Noche, said sitting out on a balcony with an empty seat across from her she was sulking that her fiancé is later because of his classes being notified by his friend who couldn't leave until Vincent comes back Diedrich had met Noche a couple of times when Vincent was around his only opinion of her was she was annoying and childish like Vincent he can see why the two were made for each other

He had talked to her times when Vincent wasn't around acting like a lovesick puppy with her she was sophisticated even graceful it was another reason why the two were together she had kept him on a leash he had to respect her for that

" his class should be ending soon so just wait for a little longer " he spoke gently hoping to ease her worries she huffed bored out of her mind

"Diedrich would you come here please," she said but her voice was demeaning he hesitated then walk up to her

" kneel"

She said her finger pointing to the ground he froze up at her request but seeing her expression that she was waiting for him so he drop to his knees he felt embarrassed being ordered by her but glancing up she was grinning ear to ear almost as she was enjoying the view

" What a good dog you are~ Vincent and I have hopes for you puppy~," she said softly petting his head she chuckle at the sight of her loyal hound red in the face she enjoy the view

" love?" A voice called out to them Diedrich quickly stood up startling noche who saw her lover coming up to her with a loving look in his eyes she gave him a sweet smile that made the two men's heartbeat race
She stood up to hug him immediately he wrap his arm around her looking into her face before peppering kisses all over her face she laugh at the affection given by him

" I miss you so much love, I'm so sorry I couldn't get here sooner," he said placing his head in the crook of her neck she patted his head comforting the pouty man

" it's alright mi Amor, Diedrich here kept me the company isn't that right Diedrich?" She said looking at the man who couldn't meet her gaze

" well in that case thank you for keeping my love happy, but you can leave now..." Vincent said as he place his hand on his shoulder startlingly the man a bit Vincent smiled looked almost unpleasant as he was saying ' leave already'

He took the hint leaving the two in the courtyard at the door he looked back to see Vincent's eyes glaring at him turning off from the two

" come on Vincent don't worry I had only eyes for you love~," she said bringing his face back to hers once again he was pouting with puppy eyes 

" you were too close to him I didn't enjoy it not one bit as he was near you," he said bringing her closer into the hug she sighed at his passiveness

" I just wanted to see if he will be loyal to me as well obeying my every word I want a loyal dog too you know~," she said bringing him in for a kiss he press his lips against hers softly he sigh at the warmth of his fiance' touching she prods her tongue against his lips he gasps at the move his mouth open she put her tongue his mouth Vincent groan at the feeling of his love taste for the first time she pulls back making him whimper at the loss of her lips

" you'll always be mine Vincent there will be no one who can make me understand this love you give me, promise me you'll always love me and be forever be mine" she spoke with worry in her tone  Vincent felt his heartbeat racing again as kneel he brought her hand to his lips

" I promise you Noche no one can make me feel this  love and joy as you can I don't believe I can imagine without you in my presence nor do I want to be in another man's hold my heart is forever yours " with that he pressed his lips to her hands as a promise for the two 

As two years pass by like the seasons the couple were ready to be wed soon both eager to tie the knot and start a life together

One person decided to change it all

" you will no longer be engaged to Vincent Phatomive do you understand me, granddaughter"

As the words reach her ears she felt her heart wrench in anguish by her grandmother her eyes stone cold with no emotion what's so ever she couldn't disobey her not since she is the oldest person in the family no one can disagree her

" why... Can't I marry him...
I thought you approve of us-"

Her voice caught off as her grandmother spoke

" I did at first seeing how you two fit well together was good for the family as you would have so much power but I made an offer with the Fuego family instead they have a son exactly your age as well he can provide so much for you than Vincent their work is something that we can have the leverage to share and the son doesn't mind marrying someone else as long they provide strong children for him"

Noche gazed down at her feet her lips gnawing so hard blood was drawn her anger at this family that making her upset wanting nothing more than to take from her happiness

It wasn't fair

" grandmother please?-"
She was stopped from speaking as the lady smacked her face with her hand a bruise slowly forming now

" you will marry this man and do good for us do hear me Noche!" She shrieked at her ignoring the tears falling down her cheeks she grab her face and looked back at her

" you will do this Noche do it for your family and do it for your future," she said standing up from her chair and leaving the room with the girl now full out sobbing her mother came in holding her tightly trying to stop her from crying even more or father will scold her showing weaknesses the tears die down after a while she was left on her own to break the news to her love.

As expected when the news reach him instead of being told in person a letter was sent to him as he was preparing for his wedding day

Being given the letter he opens it without a care in the world his eyes ran through the letter is when his face went from neutral to hurt to his knees giving up his tears running down his face before letting out an anguished cry his butler seeing his master down in his knees wailing in pain the envelope showing a ring falling out of it

A couple in love now separated by force

A year later Noche and Sergio's wedding was being held in a public church many celebrated as the two newlyweds barely show any excitement or joy on their day the party was thrown in the couple's new home guests from the noble family came and graduated them a man came up to two shovings the guest in his way making his way to the bride who looks the most angelic his ever seen but only for the one she is married to

Noche glance his way her eyes widening at him, Vincent who was well dressed his hair slick back in a suit with a red tie-wearing the ring she gifts him on his birthday shocked to see him in his best self smiling at her with so much love he greeted her with his lips on her hand

" congratulations you two I wish you so much love in your life please take care of Fuego she is a good friend," he said his voice trying hard not to crack bit his face says it all

'he is still hurt'

as he let go of her hand bidding Sergio a farewell she watch as he left into the crowd of people even so it wouldn't be the last time she saw him

A couple of months pass by when the news of Vincent Phatomvive was to tie the knot with a lady name Rachel when the news reaches Noche's ears she knew it was time to see him once more

As the day was coming to an end Vincent and Rachel were to retire for the night but Tanaka the head butler notified Vincent a guest was waiting for him now confused Vincent went to check on them as he enter the room his heart stopped and his eyes open in surprise was his ex-love in bed patiently sitting wearing rather seductive nightwear he stood there unsure of what he should do

" I told you Vincent I love you so much I want to be with you so can we for one night can we pretend this is our honeymoon like we always dream about love~," she said stretching her arms out for him

Vincent stood still before leaving the room closing the door behind him

Her arms fell at the rejection of her love she wanted to be the one to have a part of Vincent before she will have to be forced to sleep and have children with a man she held no love for tears came down at the hurt she felt

" love why are you crying"

His voice softly called out to her bringing her eyes to him he close the behind him taking her in his arms she was confused on why he was back

" I needed to let Tanaka know I won't be able to spend with Rachel and to let her know as well, I'm so sorry I gave you a scare dear but I will make it up to you by being here let's share our one night"

He said caressing her face and wiping the tears away before kissing her

" Alright you two enough bickering off to study hall now, your break is almost over then we have to drop you two off for a playdate with the Phantomive twins remember?" She told them as she lead them to their classes she heard her daughter cheering happily while her son have an ' ok answer'

She may haven't been able to marry her true love but she was more than happy to raise her kids with much love unlike her family did with she'll watch them grow into fine adults
