A Bond is Formed

With things backstage, Ashley had grown to be closed friends with Emily and Donte. The creative team was already starting things between the Wolfpack and Charlotte Flair. The Wolfpack would finally answer to her questions.

The segment was set, as Ashley was waiting for her call in for an interview.

Interviewer: Ladies and Gentleman, my guest at this time, Raw Woman's Champion Charlotte Flair.

The crowd gave her cheers as she walked into view of the camera, but she wasn't all smiles like she usually would.

Interviewer: Charlotte, over the last few weeks, The Wolfpack has been a constant thorn in your side. Is there anything you can tell us on why they would be targeting you?

Charlotte: To be honest, I don't know, so that's why I'm calling them out. AKX, I know you lead your little pack of hyena's, so I'm talking to you. Later tonight, bring your little pack with you to that ring, and we'll 'talk' things out, if you catch my drift.

With that she walked off, the fans now looking forward to later that night.

~~~
Time flew by through the show, as it had now reached half way through. Suddenly, Charlotte's theme hit, as she walked out with a purpose. She entered the ring after taking a chair out from under the ring.
She opened it, sitting in the center of the ring, mic in hand with her title around her waist. She didn't bother to talk in the mic, she simply sat there, waiting for them to come out.
She, just like the rest of the Raw men and women's divisions, had learned that the Wolfpack were everywhere, like they could see whatever move you make, no matter where they truly were.
Soon enough, the lights cut out. When they cut back in, Anarchy and Mayhem were sat on the turnbuckles, Angelina Ace was stood behind Charlotte, as AKX was sat in a chair right in front of Charlotte.
He was staring her right in the eye's. He slowly took off the cloth covering the lower half of his face. The two were staring right at each other, as Charlotte showed a small smile.
Charlotte: So, what's this all about? I've done nothing to your little brothers there, and I barely know anything about you or your dear sister behind me. So...what. Do. You. Want?
AKX still didn't say anything. All he did was stand up and pull something out from his coat. He handed it to Charlotte, who realized it was a top. She unfolded it, basically showing it to the crowd, who all saw it was a Wolfpack t-shirt that had just came out the WWE Shop.
She looked at it in confusion, before she understood what he meant.
Before she could even bring the mic to her lips, Bayley's theme hit, as she had been on the recieving end of the attacks of the Wolfpack over the last few weeks.
Bayley: No, no, no. Wolfpack, if I'm getting the picture in that ring correct, then you want her to join your little group? Is that right?
AKX looked at Bayley with a deadpanned look on his face. Without looking away, AKX signalled for Mayhem and Anarchy. The two jumped off the turnbuckles and exited the ring. Charlotte watched, grabbing AKX by his shoulder.
Charlotte: No! Call them off!
AKX looked back at her with a glare, but she wasn't backing down. AKX sighed, as he kicked his chair down in the ring. The Black and White wolves took it as a sign to stop their movement. They looked back, to see AKX calling them back.
Bayley: What? The big bag Gold Wolf follows others orders now? I thought you were the Alpha, but to me it seems you're gonna start bowing to the Queen.
The crowd gave a short 'ooh' but AKX didn't even take her comment serious. I mean, how could he with all the playful and bright colors, cheerful attitude, and tube men. He simple gave a short lived laugh, as the lights cut out.
A few seconds later, the lights were back on, as Anarchy and Mayhem were now behind Bayley. She felt the presences, turning around and backing up. The two marched forward, as she continued to back up. At the same time however, she was getting closer to the ring. When she was close enough, Ace had hit her with a sliding drop kick, sending her at the Wolves feet.
AKX exited the ring, now standing on the apron. He turned back to Charlotte, and beckoned her closer. She slowly and cautiously did so, before he whispered in her ear.
The fans could see her face grow wide eyed in shock, before the Wolfpack theme played and they walked to the back.
It was now Thursday, as Donte had a day off, but he was still gonna get some work done. His plans for the day were pretty simple. As he got dressed and was about to head out, he got a text.
Ashley - Hey, free for the day?
Donte - Yeah, why?
Ashley - Just thought we could hang out. Up for it?
Donte - Sure, meet at my place?
Ashley - Got it, be there in a bit.
Donte gave a light hearted chuckle as he sat down on his couch and checked social media. He looked as a bunch of fans were putting out their thoughts about Ashley joining the Wolfpack. Most didn't want it since the group was more a family thing, while a few wanted it since it would give something new with the group.
Donte waited for another 10 minutes, before his doorbell rang. He walked over, opening it to see Ashley wearing black joggers, clean white sneakers, and a sports bra. He also took notice of how little makeup she was wearing.
Donte: Don't you look nice.
Ashley: Stop. I look terrible.
Donte: Naah, I beg to differ. Personality I don't care much for makeup, so I think you look nice.
Ashley: Well thank you, I appreciate it. So, workout?
Donte: You basically read my mind. You already brought your car over here, so we may as well take yours.
Ashley: Sounds good, let's go!
The two took off, as Donte offered to ride the way there. Ashley seemed a bit reluctant, but ultimately allowed him to. As he drove, Ashley took a quick video of Donte driving.
She posted it to Instagram, captioning it with:
-Friendly day at the Gym, safest driver I've seen
Ashley made sure to tag him as well. Donte grew a smirk on his face, still maintaining his attention on the road in front of him.
Donte: Enjoying yourself, I presume?
Ashely: Yes, quite so.
As the two arrived at the gym, they quickly got their workouts in. Donte had a few more after Ashley finished, so she recorded him on each workout he did. She posted each to her story, while also admiring Donte's physique.
She couldn't lie to herself, he was ripped, but not too much. It wasn't to the point to where his muscles and viens would be bulging out.
Donte let down the bar that was holding a total weight of 250, giving a huff. He slowly stood up and kept his breathing paced. He looked over at Ashley, who was staring. He walked closer, snapping his fingers in front of her face.
Donte: Yo, Ashley? You doing okay?
Ashley: Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine. Sorry, got a bit distracted.
Donte: Yeah, I'm sure. So, wanna get some lunch, it's about to be noon. My treat.
Ashley: If you're paying, then hell yeah.
Donte: Hehe, I'm sure. Come on, showers and a fresh change of clothes, then we can get some food.
The two went to the seperate showers to get cleaned up. They took their showers, got changed, and met back at the car.
Ashley: Alright, my turn to drive.
Donte: If you say so.
Donte gave a playful slap against her thigh before he jumped into the passenger seat. Ashley looked at the door with a playful shocked face, before entering the vehicle.
~~~

The two friends had just finished their meals for lunch, back in Ashley's car. The two went back to Donte's place, where they decided to hang out for a bit. Before they knew it, the time had gotten to 9:30.

Ashley: Say, Donte, can I ask you something.

Donte: Shoot.

Ashley: It's been on my mind for weeks now, and the others aren't telling me about it, so I thought I'd ask you. This Michelle that was on the dog tags you wear? Was she someone important to you?

Donte grew a somber look on his face, as he stood from the couch.

Ashley: I'm sorry if I'm getting too personal with your business. I can drop it if it's too much to talk about-

Donte: No, no, it's fine. I trust you, Ashley, that's why I'll tell you. Or better yet, I'll show you. Come on, let's take another drive.

The two walked out as Donte locked the house down, both walking towards his car. It was a jet black Grand Cherokee, fully washed down giving it a nice shine.

As Ashley jumped into the passenger seat, she easily took notice of the medals hanging from the rearview mirror. It didn't take a genuis to know that they were medals given to those who have served in the military.

Donte didn't talk the whole drive, as they came down to a memorial sight. In the memorial were many graves, all for those who had died whilst fighting overseas.

Donte lead Ashley to one of the graves, which held the name Michelle Williams.

Ashley: Williams? She was your sister?

Donte: Allow me to tell you a quick story. Back when we were little kids, my bonds with my two sisters, Emily and Michelle, as well as my mother were my biggest. Any time we would hear shouting from out parents arguments, Michelle would always be there to comfort me. She always knew just what to say. She knew how to make me happy, even during our tough times in the projects. She was there for comfort me after my father gave me this scar on my face.

Ashley: Your dad gave you that?

Donte: That's right. Once Emily, Jonathan, and myself came to life, he began to drink and smoke. Sold drugs out in alleys, even got involved with a few gangs, just to make some easy money for even more alcohol. Back on topic, sadly when I was 18, the day before I was fired from the WWE, Michelle went overseas to serve the United States Military.

Donte took a pause, placing a hand on the gravestone.

Donte: The day before I was fired, my family and I got the news...that she was killed in battle. My mom was supposed to be the one to hold her medals, but she knew of my bond with my older sister, so she allowed me to keep them. I was also given her dog tags, as another way to remember her by. It helps me so that I never forget her and what she's done for me.

Ashley: Donte...I'm so sorry.

Donte: Don't be. It's been 8 years, so I've come to terms with it. I guess you could say why it affected me so much when Rebecca broke up with me. In reality, I don't have hate towards her. It's just that day before, I had already gone through enough, and a breakup just made it worse. Now, I don't have that much trust for people other than my siblings. But...I don't know how, but I feel like I can trust you. I can't really explain it, but within the last few weeks, you've gained my trust, so thank you.

Ashley: For what?

Donte now held a small smile, as he grasped her hand in his own.

Donte: For being a good friend. That's all I ever feel like I need, are good people that I surround myself with. So thank you Ashley.

Ashley gave him her signature smile, which made Donte grow a bigger smile.

Donte: God that smile, it's addicting y'know.

That caused her to let out a laugh, as the two headed out of the memorial after Donte gave a small prayer to his deceased sister's grave.

The whole ride back to his house was a laugh filled one. Ashley's car was still at his house, so they needed to get their first. Once they got their, Ashley grabbed onto Donte's hand.

Ashley: Say, it's already late, so do you mind if I stay here for the night?

Donte: Not at all. You're frree to come here whenever you feel like it. You can take my bed, I'll take the couch.

Ashley: No, I can't do that to you, I'll take the couch.

Donte got closer, whispering in her ear.

Donte: My house, my say. Besides, the couch is pretty comfortable and has a pull out bed. I'll be fine.

Donte left to his room to get some sleepwear.

Donte: I'll let you take the shower first, just make sure to wash out any hair that gets stuck on the bath tub floor.

Ashley watched him go with a closed mouth smile, running a hand through her hair as she came to a realization with herself.

Ashley: God damnit...I'm in love.
