Mal pov

After we left the dorms Sabrina took me outside auradon prep where she had a two seater scooter waiting for us

Have you ever rode a scooter before Sabrina asked

No I don't believe I've had the pleasure. I said

"Oh you'll love it. Here" Sabrina said handing me a helmet "safety first"

After we put our helmets on Sabrina rode us through the forest and I had to admit it was beautiful out here.

It almost made me sick to my stomach to think it would all be destroyed once the villains were free.

We soon stopped at a rope bridge that looked to be on it last leg

Come on Mal. The surprise is right across this bridge. Sabrina said

Your joking. You can't seriously believe that it can actually hold both our weight. I said

It's perfectly safe. This bridge has been here since my mother was a bandit. Sabrina said

That was over 20 years ago maybe more. I said

Come on Mal I wouldn't have suggested it if it wasn't safe. Sabrina said holding out her hand for me to take

Fine. But if I die I'm coming back and I'm haunting you for the rest of your life I said as I took her hands and started walking with her across the bridge until we got to the other end

See I told you. Perfectly safe. Now tell me something about yourself that you've never told anyone. Sabrina said as we started walking

Um... My middle name is Bertha. I said

Bertha? Sabrina asked

Yeah. Bertha. Just my mom doing what she does best. Being really, really evil. Mal Bertha. I said

Mines Louise Sabrina said

Louise? I asked

Yeah. She said

How royal. Oh, that's almost worse. I said

I mean, you know, It's better than Bertha. But it's still not... watch your foot." Sabrina  said as we were walking on a rocky path "Yeah. Are you good?"

Mm-hmm. I said

Now, step up. There you go. You ready? Sabrina said as I nodded while Sabrina pulled a huge branch out of the way reviling a cottage next to a beautiful lake

As I looked around I had noticed that Sabrina had set up a picnic for us

Do you like it? Sabrina asked as I nodded

Oh good. I didn't know what to do. Emma had suggested we go bowling like she and Neal did for their first date but I didn't think that would be a good first date so I decided on taking you on a picnic at my mother's cottage and enchanted lake Sabrina said

That's your mother's cottage? I asked

Yeah that's where she lived with the seven drawfs while she was hiding from Regina. Sabrina said as I nodded while she took me over to where the food was and let me tell you it tasted amazing

Is this your first time? Sabrina asked

Mm... We don't really date much on the island. It's more like... Gang activity. I said

Um, I meant, is this your first time eating a jelly donut? Sabrina asked

Is it bad? I asked

"You got a... Just a... I mean, yeah, here."  Sabrina said as she took a napkin and wiped off the jelly off the corner of my mouth "there we go all clean"

Thanks. You can't take me anywhere, I guess. I said as Sabrina laughed a little

You know, I've done all the talking. Your turn. I really don't know that much about you.
Tell me something. Sabrina said

Well, I'm 16. I have an older sister. And I've only ever lived in one place. I said

Me, too. That... we have so much in common already. Sabrina said as I shook my head

No. Trust me, we do not. And now you're gonna be queen. I said

Yeah.... Sabrina said with uncertainty.

What? I asked

A crown doesn't make you a queen. Sabrina said

Well, it kind of does. I said

"No, it..." Sabrina said as she stopped for a moment before speaking again "Your mother is mistress of evil and I've got the poster parents for goodness. But we're not automatically like them. We get to choose who we're gonna be. And right now, I can look into your eyes and I can tell you're not evil. I can see it. Come on let's go swimming"

Hm? What? Uh... Right now? I asked

Yeah, right now. Sabrina said

I think I'm just gonna stay here. i said not wanting to go to the water

No, no, no. Come on. Sabrina said

I think I'm gonna stay behind and try a strawberry. I've literally never tried a strawberry before. Mm! Mm...I said as I took a bite and actually fell in love with the taste

Don't eat all of them you'll give yourself a stomach ache Sabrina warned as I just nodded

Okay. Ooh! Mm. Are those blue birds on your swimsuit? I said

Maybe? Sabrina said as she jumped into the water doing a swan dive

As I watched Sabrina swim I thought about what she said about me not being evil like my mother and how I was starting to actually fall in love with Sabrina a little bit

After I finished my song I looked around and didn't see Sabrina at all. She was on the rocks or in the water. She was nowhere insight

Sabrina? Sabrina? Sabrina! I shouted as I got into the water and started walking in it until my legs no longer touched the ground

What was I thinking I asked myself as I started to panic since I couldn't swim

Suddenly Sabrina grabbed me and carried me back to the gazebo

Ugh! You scared me! I thought you were hurt or something. I said upset

You... you can't swim? Sabrina asked

No! I said

You live on an island! Sabrina said

Yeah, with a barrier around it, remember? Ugh! I said

And you still tried to save me. Sabrina said with a smile

Yeah. And do you thank me? No! All I get is soaking wet! I said upset

I'm sorry Mal but I found this Sabrina said holding a Golden orb "It's yours. Make a wish and throw it back in the lake. "

Ugh I said as I took the orb and shucked it back into the lake making Sabrina sigh

Mal... I told you that I loved you. What about you? Do you love me? Sabrina asked as I looked at her than looked away

I don't know what love feels like. I said as Sabrina used her finger to make me look at her

Maybe I can teach you. Sabrina said.
