The man with the white hair and violet eyes agreed with an I-hate-the-world type of glare aimed at me. He started walking, expecting me to follow which I did with pleasure. I sped-walked to appear beside him, "So why do you smell of that girl's blood?" I gave him a mischievous, cheeky stare from the side.
"How could you smell that, you psycho?" He asked, glaring at from the side of his eyes. "Anyone could. Especially women, y'know. We are specially trained to be able to sense it coming." I said with a slight grin, lying in the first sentence.
He rolled his eyes in disgust. "Too much information." I sighed angrily before recollecting myself. Once I felt composed, I retaliated with a verbal jab.
"Too much unappreciation for women nowadays." Women deal with so much pain, just for people to pass it off as disgusting or a bad topic. He glared with his hate-filled stare before walking faster, making me speed up to catch up to him; I did, with difficulty because he has longer legs than mine but I have better stamina.
We walked up a couple of fleets of stairs before walking down a nicely decorated hallway. The angsty boy stopped at a large mahogany door. He opened the door without any warning for anyone inside; most probably the headmaster. The person inside jumped on the seat of his chair and squealed a bit before calming down and saying in an almost motherly tone, "Hello Zero. Why did you come to my humble office?"
He rolled his violet coloured eyes before stepping to side, revealing little-Ol'-me. His smile widened at the sight of me. "Hello, my little devil!" He squealed and ran towards me with his arms wide open. I opened my arms, preparing for the huge reunion hug.
"Hi, Uncle Kaien!" I shouted with glee once he was about a metre away from me. I felt a huge force squeeze me and carry me in the air. He was giggling like a teenage girl. His light honey hair was tickling the back of my neck as he was hugging me. I felt comfort that I hadn't felt in awhile, causing me to snuggle in and enjoy the feeling that it brought.
Zero then cleared his throat; reminding us of his presence. Separating slowly, Kaien went back to his chair behind his desk and I sat in one of the chairs in front of the desk.
He finally looked at what I was wearing and giggled; he's been doing that a lot. "You forgot, didn't you?" I chuckled sheepishly as a response while scratching the nape of my neck.
"Zero, can you patrol the school?" Kaien said, trying to get him to leave. Zero nodded reluctantly, his eyes lingering on my clothes then my face before leaving; slamming the door behind him. Over-protective and a temper; I bet he has tonnes of friends.
"So Kiri, what's been going on?" He asked with genuine curiosity. "Nothing much, making coffee and killing humans for food. Y'know, the usual." I responded with a shrug, staring at the desk as if it's the most interesting thing in the world.
He chuckled at my answer before saying, "Why have you come here?"
I let a lopsided grin overtake my face before saying, "People were getting too easy to kill. Too easy being one of the leaders of the Aogiri tree." I felt slight guilt because I was lying to a close friend.
Then he stated, "Since you are staying here, you have to attend this school to stay. That means you have to join the night class." He smiled apologetically.
"What the fuck is a night class? Let me guess, there's a day class as well." I retorted sarcastically. "Classes." Kaien said, emphasising the 'es'. "Typical." I stated while rolling my eyes with a goofy smile.
"The night class is full of vampires, no humans allowed." He said, his fingers connected together on the desk. "No ghouls then?" I ask with a smirk. "They don't even know about ghouls so we either keep you a secret and pretend that you are a vampire or we start accepting ghouls or we make lessons about ghouls inside the night class."
"I believe that the lessons about ghouls would be the best because first, they would find it suspicious that I don't drink blood in front of them but instead I eat flesh and if you start accepting ghouls, the CCG would start noticing the lack of ghouls in Tokyo so they would start searching all around Japan and find me here." I stated, while being calculating. I snorted inside because I am usually never like this, must be one of the only characteristics I share with my brother.
He nodded at my explanation. "Okay. So we will start introducing ghoul lessons but it's your choice if you want to reveal yourself. Okay, I will personally show you to the dorm room."
He stood up quickly from his chair, looking at clock; the time shown was 12:37 AM. "We better get going. The night class should be on until about 2 AM. Now let's go." I stood up briskly from the soft, wooden chair and followed behind Kaien through the door. Then we went through the long hallways and down multiple flights of stairs until we made it outside where we saw the girl's still unconscious body with Zero next to her.
Kaien turned to me and asked, "Really? Can you not go without hurting someone?" I shrugged my shoulders in a care-free manner with a goofy smile while he just shook his head, almost liek he's disappointed and started walking in a different direction to where I presume is my new dorm.
We kept on walking at a brisk pace, I started getting a bit out of breath. How big is this campus?!
Then finally we were on a wide footpath, all we had to do was walk a bit more until I finally saw it; my new home.
"Wow, fancy." I squeezed out. "How many people stay here?" I kept looking at the height of the dorm and the elegance that this building held; the designs, the slightly darker palette of colours, the victorian style structure.
"One class." He stated, blankly. My eyes widened, "How fat are they?!" He giggled at my comment and said, "You will find out why it's so big, in due time." I nodded while rolling my eyes; mysterious.
"You already sent your bag so it should already be in your room. Just don't get lost because even I can't find my way in there." He stated, still looking at the abnormality of a house.
He started sauntering inside the large mansion. I followed behind in fear of being left behind to find my own way. Then we went up a fleet of fancy stairs that led to an adorned hallway. Oh shit, imagine if I brought a victim in here, blood would be everywhere and I would be screwed to the ends of the earth.
It looks like it's been cleaned with a toothbrush ten thousand times.
Kaien proceeded to walk up to a room that had a 'do not disturb' hanger on the doorknob. He grabbed out a pair of modern, silver keys and unlocked the room, revealing a room with lavender walls, a wall sticker with two girls, a desk connected to a wardrobe with mini cubes as shelves and a computer chair, a computer and my pink bag next to the wardrobe.
I walked in while Kaien leaned on the doorframe, watching my reaction. "I love it!" I suddenly yelled, with a huge smile ripping at my face. Kaien realigned his back before grinning. He replied with that stress-reliever smile of his, "Thank you. I designed it for you!"
"You should go to sleep, Uncle Kaien!" I stated and he nodded, "I look forward to it, little Kiri."
"You make me sound like I couldn't rip someone apart and leave no flesh behind." I said with a slight chuckle bubbling in my throat, feeling a slight banging in my head - the madness. He chuckled before saying, "I know you wouldn't do that to me, I am basically your relative."
"Basically. Not blood. Just choice. I chose you as a substitute for my disappointment of a family." I said, feeling anger cloud my system but it dissipated when I felt a familiar hand on my lower back where my usual kagune comes out. I slowly felt the anger still and drain until I felt my usual calmness. I composed myself before breaking the heavy silence.
"See you, uncle Kaien! I love you!" I shouted when he started to walk to the doorframe, he turned around with a toothy-smile and shouted back, "Okay, little Kiri. I love you too." Then he left. All I could hear was his retreating steps.
Then I fell backwards onto my plain bed and looked at the ceiling and tried to sleep but I can never sleep for a good amount of time so it's no use.
I rolled off the bed and crawled to the desk where I sat on the black computer chair. I opened multiple drawers before actually finding a note book. I opened it up to a random page and just drew. I didn't pay attention, I just drew what was on my mind at the moment.
As soon as I finished the drawing of a side view of a girl, I stopped; stuck, no idea on what to do. So I spin the pen around my fingers before tapping the mechanical pencil just above the paper before dropping it on the notebook; watching it roll to the other page - feeling no motivation to continue drawing at this moment.
I just groaned before dropping my head on the desk; the impact creating a large sound and an increasing pain that kept pulsing in my skull. "Shit! That hurt! I regret this decision!" I practically screamed while covering my forehead with both my hands.
I was cringing from the intense pulsing inside my skull until it calmed down to a slight pulse every few seconds. Then I heard the front door open and chatter happening.
Here comes my new supernatural roommates.
